Very nice ambiance. The restaurant had a new, contemporary, vibrant feeling. I didn't have to wait to be seated.
It took a very long time for someone to take our order. The server was actually the bartender too.
I initially was interested in the marinated salmon tacos, but despite what the menu said, she said the salmon tacos was really tilapia fish which makes no sense based on the menu.
The food was really average to below average. The taco beef meat was very spicy hot and saturated in a lot of oil. The oil was dripping everywhere from the tacos. They could not make the beef without the seasoning because she said that the beef is already made for the day in batches with the seasoning on it.
I was offered to get something else and I got the salmon dish. The salmon entree was better.
This was our first time going out to a restaurant in a whole year and we picked Cantina. It was even better than we remembered and enjoyed it immensely. The hostess greeted us warmly and our service was exceptional. Compliments to all in the kitchen.
We will be back again and again!
Service was very good. The guacamole was prepared at the table and very good. However, the entrees were disappointing. My wife had shrimp tacos - well there may have been shrimp somewhere in there and I had a taco assortment. Food was just ok - not bad but not great. Drinks were very watered down with our margaritas having very little tequila present.
8 of us got together here for my son-in-law’s birthday because he likes the Barbacoa here. I am assuming he liked his dish but half of us did not like our meal. I had the fajitas and the chicken and steak was so over salted and so over seasoned and so well done that I could not taste the meat. Three people in the party had the chimichanga and disliked it so much they could not finish it. It seemed to be deep fried or something, it’s weird. My 5 year old grandson loved the salsa and chips and taco and his Mom liked her salad with chicken. I don’t know what happened to this place but the food used to be pretty decent. We went to the one in Ballantyne and will not be returning. The service was great though. Skip this place and head to any of the other Mexican places near by.
Enjoyed our first visit at this new location. Food, service, and margaritas were great - we will definitely go back again soon.
First time to dine in since Covid. Food was not up to par, but it was still good. Just a different feel at this stage
We are regulars & have been now for like 15 years. Your restaurant is my husband & I’s favorite Mexican restaurant in Charlotte hands down!!! I love the chicken fajitas’s! We eat at Cantina once a week. Highly recommend this restaurant!!!
The service was friendly and quick. Unfortunately the Enchiladas Verde and the Ground Beef tacos were not all that flavorful.
Overall the ambiance of the place felt cheap and flat. Drinks from the bar took forever. I ordered 2 tacos and was only able to eat one. The Thai shrimp was tasty but the fish taco had a strong fish odor and did not look or taste appealing so I felt it was best not to fully digest it. The table side guacamole was tasty as usual but needed to flag down server to ask for more chips and small plates so we could share. At the end of our meal our server charged our credit card twice, for our meal and the other couple we were with which I have to say in all my years of dining with another couple has never happened to us before. Even though the server saw there was an issue with the bills, he never returned to our table to rectify the issue so we just resolved it between ourselves. Overall not a great experience and have no plans to return.
Just love their tortilla chips since they are nice and salty, and the fundido is rather amazing! Their frozen margaritas are pretty good too. I preferred the Stonecrest location better, though all good. I will be back!!
Birthdays for parents. Service was just ok, had to ask for things that should have been brought automatically.. appetizer was lukewarm, food was as expected. We were sat facing a wall, and although restaurant is nice, it felt like a typical chain experience. We won’t be dining at this location again. The restaurant is very clean though and up to date, it was just too blah.
It was decent
Food was very good as always. With reduced capacity they seemed a bit understaffed and service was a touch slow.
Good food and fast service. We were seated on time and the food was great.
Chips and salsa shouldn’t be an additional charge at a mexican restaurant.
Came here for a early dinner on Valentine’s Day and it was pretty quiet. Food took forever (all we had were 1 entree of two soft tacos and 2 kids taco).
Miss the old location and ambiance at Stonecrest.
Food was delicious, I don't normally love the red salsa that you get with the chips but it had an amazing smoky flavor - we inhaled it! Everything we had, including some fun drinks, was great. They weren't super busy on a Sunday ~ brunch time so everything was out quickly but not so fast you feel rushed. Will definitely go back.
Really fresh and flavorful food and excellent service.
Seating and service were fast. You can tell they quickly converted as the ambience just does not fit. The food was out in less than five minutes and it showed. Clearly, there is a lot of pre prepped food on the line. The Salmon was just terrible, ordered medium and came well done. It had no flavor at all and was burnt. Waiter did not care and informed no one. The Asada was overcooked and bland as well. Potatoes on both where dead on arrival and mushy inside. Once again, no flavor. Even the margarita lacked in zing and alcohol. Is that watered down? I am so disappointed as this was a first date. I asked for an intimate spot and was given a table near the door. It was cold and my date had to wear her jacket as were continuously blown by cold drafts. Never again!
Birthday. Great waiter with great recon and food was great
Carne Asada quesadillas were not steak. Tasted like pot roast. The mole sauce on the Enchiladas Diana was way too sweet. 11 for a glass of wine. And it was COLD. Had to keep our coats on! I’ve been to very local Mexican restaurants where the food was better and the price was lower. Go somewhere else.
Not the same as their location on Rae Road but the food was good. I am “High Risk”. After negotiating for a secluded table (the host seemed to be annoyed that we turned down 2 tables) I felt safe. She did have to clean a table in the corner away from everyone for us. This is much smaller than Rea Road!
Your food was great and came out fast and our server was one of the best we have had in years. We never had to ask for anything. She was amazing!
Our food was bland but our server was great!
We found a padlock in the black beans, service was horrible! We will not be back.
A fantastic family birthday celebration. Food was excellent as always and the service was superb. This time we saved room for dessert!
Good Mexican food and good service in a local restaurant
The booths are very uncomfortable. Tables are longer than the benches so people are really squished together. 4 people sit very uncomfortably in NC a booth that is meant for 6.
Kayla provided excellent service! We shared the fajitas and street corn - the food was fresh and delicious. We will return certainly.
We arrived the restaurant was pleasant and seated us immediately. Our waitress appeared shortly we ordered drinks and table side guacamole. She brought this promptly and everything was great. We ordered and our meals were great . We had no complaints and will go back again soon.
Myself and girlfriends met for lunch. Food and service was great. We’ll all be back
While the place was great and our waiter attentive & nice, it was the worst Mexican Food we ever had.
Can’t go wrong with Cantina 1511, regardless of location. Cannot wait any longer to get rid of this Covid crap and enjoy busy restaurants again!
Our server was Adam. He made excellent recommendations on entrees which were delicious. He was efficient and friendly. We will return to your new location.
This location is definitely not our favorite. We've tried twice and this is the last go. Service was mediocre, and that's hard to get me to say with what restaurants are going thru now as we are super aware and grateful for all they do. We were not welcomed, couldn't tell you anything about server or table runners except they put food down. Good quality was not the same at Park Rd location or Stonecrest. Odd experience overall. Wish it were better.
Great service and food. Went for our Anniversary.
great service and food was excellent! I give an Enthusiastic 5 stars!!
First time dining at new location. The food was not the same. Meats were over cooked. Just meh...
We had a very nice time and an excellent meal.
We love Cantina 1511 - especially in the new Torringdon location. We can walk the Greenway after our tacos & margaritas. It's the best.
Love the new location, and the food was as good as I remember
