Cantina 1511 - Stonecrest Ratings and Reviews
We were a group of 10 people with one server...to my surprise he did an excellent job. The food flow was excellent and the food was served at the correct temperature. Everyone enjoyed their food and I would definitely recommend the salad, fajitas and the quesadilla. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large.
The food, alas, was bland and uninspired. The chicken in the enchiladas was dry. It looked like and tasted like they dumped canned tomato sauce on my enchilada. Even the rice and black beans were bland. If you're looking for Mexican, this is not the place. If you're looking for value, this is not the place.
We were there with family...not only was the service phenomenal but my moms ring fell in the bathroom sink. The cantina staff(Wendy and few others)did everything hey could to get my mom her ring back! They were sincere and genuine which is hard to come by these days!
Thank you Cantina for making our evening so special!!
Roxanne was amazing! I had my almost 3 and 18 mo old with me and they were not cooperating tonight. Roxanne was super patient with all of us and anticipated the needs of the children, which helped this stressed mama be able to enjoy herself as much as was possible. She even offered to walk the kids around so I could eat because my daughter wanted me to hold her the whole time!
After getting less than stellar service at a nearby restaurant the night before with no children, Roxanne was a breath of fresh air! I seriously can't praise her enough! The food was good too (well the little of it I got to taste 🙂).
Ordered the queso for an appetizer. Almost nothing but grilled onions. When the manager came by to see how our experience was, he was oblivious to the fact we'd pulled all of them out and put them on a side plate.
Split the chicken and steak fajitas. Again, more onions than anything else (at least two different kinds, no less!). Hardly any meat in the dish. Left behind much more than we ate. She did offer to box up all of the remaining onions, I mean food. We declined.
The only saving grace was that the margaritas were good. We were trying to figure out which to try, so ordered a couple of different ones. Discussed this in front of the waitress - she didn't bother to mention they actually had a flight of three of their top sellers on the main (not drink) menu. Ordered that for the second round.
Our waiter was in a hurry from taking our order to bringing the check. I had to stop him from leaving twice to finish my order.
Food is nothing special. Queso has gone downhill. The texture was off.
Restaurant was very loud.
Doubtful I will return for awhile.
Been here pretty often, and was surprised that, with a reservation, it took as long as it did to be seated. Server provided chips but salsa was quite delayed. Had to chase drink refills for awhile. Entrees were good and our server hustled but the start wasn't what we were used to.
Cantina 1511 is definitely better than your average Mexican "place". It is more expensive than you would expect for Mexican. I am about 50/50 on going back. The service was great and the table-side guacamole is a nicety. I am very disappointed with the tortilla chips. They use Tostitos which just doesn't make any sense. If you're going to market yourself as a higher-end Mexican restaurant, you've got to have house-made chips. I was shocked to see the waitress fill up where they store the tortilla chips with a bag of Tostitos. All and all, the food is decent. It is questionable on whether or not I would go back there an spend $15 on a burrito with no sides. People swear by it, but I certainly do not.
The food was really good and our server was good as well. They seems to have issues with the bar and the kitchen. The bar was out of 2 beers that we ordered, and it was Friday night-not a Sunday evening when they had been serving all weekend. The kitchen took a really long time to get out our food, but our server kept us informed and was very apologetic.
