Five Cheese Queso Fundido
We carefully blend 3 classic cheeses, then add traditional Queso Blanco, caramelized white onions and Poblanos and finish with authentic Cotija cheese
Crispy burrito filled with Ground Beef, Chicken or Steak, pico de gallo black beans, rice, and cheese. Topped with Ranchero and queso sauce. Served with guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, lettuce and tortilla slaw
excellent place, excellent service, excellent chips, excellent salsa
Our reservation was at 6:30 pm on a Sunday evening. We were seated on time. It took 30 minutes for our server to bring us water. Our food arrived at 8 pm, and it was not what we ordered. The place was not busy, there were many empty tables. Our waitress was friendly, but she kept telling us how messed up everything was that day. We have had great service here in the past, but today it was inexcusable.
The food is delicious and very fresh The menu has a lot of great options to select. Our reservation was it 9:00pm as this was what worked with our schedules. This was the first time date and we wanted it to be a great experience. We ordered the table side guac and I've been there quite a few times and I know how they prepare it and the whole production that goes behind it. Our waiter brought everything practically premixed and didn't ask us what ingredients we wanted and basically chose for us. It was delicious, but the fun of getting tableside guac is the whole production behind it. We felt a little rushed but all in all I would definitely go back.
I have never, in my 44 years on this earth, written a restaurant review, but I felt a civic duty to the people of Charlotte, to save them from making a terrible mistake by eating at this horrible restaurant. Let me just say, This place is gross. It started out okay with the chips and salsa. Chips weren't great, but not terrible, salsa was decent, but it went downhill from there. I ordered the grilled steak taco's, which were cold...yes, the meat was actually cold, and in no way grilled. I asked the the grilled veggies as my side, which turned out to be a sorry pile of onions and peppers, when I was told it was grilled zucchini and mushrooms with some onion and peppers. There was one piece of zucchini. My kids both ordered food that they found inedible, and my husbands fish tacos looked like a child prepared them. Actually, that's not fair to children, I'm sure they would've done a much better job. I asked my daughter what she like the best and her reply was, "my water". I can't comprehend how this place still exists. Went ended up leaving our food, uneaten, paid the bill, and went to Jeni's ice cream to make ourselves feel better after that s**t-show of a meal. Yuck and Yuck, don't do it!
Simply the best -
Great brunch! Lots of breakfast selections, not crowded & the food came out quickly. The food was good & it was also very pretty to look at. Great brunch place.
Food was very plentiful, for the price. Outside seating was comfortable and quiet.
Hostess, and waitress were very pleasent, definately will return.
We hadn't been to Cantina 1511 for some time; we were in the area and decided to have dinner at the last minute. It doesn't seem like Cantina 1511 has missed a beat given Covid, as so many others seemingly have. Our waitress, Kayla, was good; checked on us in a timely manner...nice, personable. I think Cantina 1511's sour mix for their margaritas is the best in town! I've always loved a margarita here! Our food was fresh and yummy. We both had a combination of tacos (my favorite are the Marco Polo); I would recommend the black beans over the refried beans. Chips and salsa are great!
Skip the Key Lime Pie...too thick, almost rubbery. Tables don't seem to be as close as I remember them once being, which is nice for a few reasons. We sat outside and fortunately had a big umbrella over our table as it started raining about halfway through our dinner. Kayla checked on us to make sure we were staying dry and were ok staying where we were. I'm glad we decided to eat at Cantina 1511 and would recommend to others with a hankerin' for some good Mexican food.
This was my first time visiting in many years and it was as good as I remembered. Our server Cole was amazing and so was the food. The beer selection was a little off as they were out of some staples like Negra Modelo on draft, but the made up for it with their cocktails. The Devils Garden was incredible. Overall it was a very good night out.
I sat inside and I wish there was social distancing. A hostess placed A party that was 1-2 feet from my table. Wish there was more distancing between tables.
Decent food and service. Did not fully honor reservation due to short staff. Now charging for chips and salsa (this is new).
We had 6:30 indoor reservations. They wanted to place us outside, it was 90 degrees. Lady at counter said there were no inside tables available. We saw a table available. We observed bus boy cleaning tables with used napkins & he was cleaning very slowly. We did not see him using spray/sanitizer on the tables. We were ready to walk out but nice gentlemen took us to the empty table we had seen. It took us an hour to get waited on. We were getting ready to walk out & nice waitress walked over. We did not get everything we ordered but waitress was nice & very busy. We don’t plan to come back to your restaurant. You definitely need to fire the bus boy/table cleaner.reservations are of no value there.
Service was a bit slow
Waiter was terrible! All the tables around us were complaining about him! He wasn’t very personal and clearly didn’t know what he was doing and frankly acted like he really didn’t care! Manager and other staff were very nice and helpful! It was just his section!we spoke to to tables around us and they felt the same! Got all the orders wrong in one way or another didn’t come to check didn’t ask if we wanted more drinks! Line I stated what made it worse was he acted like he didn’t care!
Food was excellent. Service was average at best.
A casual, very tasty, Mexican dinner. Sat outside on the patio early evening and the weather was great for a drink, good food, and conversation. My carne asada steak with onion and potato was cooked perfectly and the seasoning did not overwhelm. Our waiter, Dustin, was friendly, and delivered our order very quickly. We were checked on regularly. Key lime pie for dessert. Delicious.
5 of us, sat outside. Ordered the table side guacamole, but they didn’t make it at the table, but it was good nevertheless. Most of us had tacos, one had chicken enchiladas and one chopped salad. Service was good, waiter friendly. Everyone happy with their food. We had a birthday so they brought out a strawberry shortcake type of dessert.
Hostess not engaging
She carried out her duties but didn’t seem very happy.
Other than that Service was outstanding
Our waiter was terrible. Left us alone and forgot part of my order. I asked for salmon medium and it came out very well done. Not impressed. This place is normally better.
Cantina 1511 doesn't disappoint. We went for Brunch for the first time and found several creative offerings. We'll be back!
Our server was not attentive at all. They don't serve the tacos I usually get there and my daughter's nachos were not good.
I took my Mom to Cantina 1511 for Mother’s Day and it was absolutely wonderful! The service was outstanding, as was the food. I was a little concerned about eating inside, but we were the only people in our section. I will definitely be back to Cantina 1511!
Had a reservation, arrived early, was seated near bar. Rare date night for my wife and I. We were there 4-5 mins when greeted and ordered drinks from a young man who worked behind the bar. Drinks came pretty quick. Soon after order was taken... normal. Here’s where it went bad. We never got chips and salsa. After 12-15 mins, my wife finally asked. While waiting on chip, her meal came. Soon thereafter, my fajitas came but there was no fajita plate ( sour cream, quac, lettuce, etc) waited 7-8 mins. We finally had a waiter come by and ask. 10 mins later, got the plate with flour instead of corn tortillas. Asked for corn, 5 mins later got them. Fajitas now cold, meat dry and chewy. Just not good. Told the waiter, he still charged full price. As a fan of the restaurant, super disappointed. Not a great night for us.
Everything was good!! Will return!!
It was great. The food was outstanding.
While we like the food, it is not worth it for bad service.
Our server was cheerful, but service was slow, and he chose to take our order while one of us was in the bathroom. One of our party had to leave the table in order to find someone to refill our drinks, and dirty dishes (including appetizer plates) were not bussed until after the check was paid. Food was slow in coming out (not just at our table, but seemingly on the entire patio), the table next to ours wasn't greeted promptly and had to flag down a server. I guess the managers were busy fighting fires, because no-one stopped by our table to inquire about our satisfaction.
Our server, Dustin, was awesome and made the experience wonderful!
Service was really bad. We were there 45 minutes before our all was served. We were pretty disappointed.
Poor service but we could understand and accept that aspect of the experience. However, the food was really poor. They don’t seem to take any pride in the flavor and it was room temp at best.
To begin with, Cena our Hostess, was so very nice and helpful with our reservation!
The, Erica our Server, was wonderful in helping us decide on what to order. And though it was a busy Saturday morning, we admired how attentive Erica was. We really enjoyed ourselves!
Ate out on patio. Felt safe. Friendly server, great food as always!
To be a Mexican restaurant I expected more as far as flavor foe the food. The guacamole was very bland, and the tacos were not the best. This has been the worst Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been food wise. I would not recommend this place to anyone
Waiter was great, food was good, prices are fair.
I like the food. The price is pretty fair. The service was on time and the waiter was nice . The restaurant itself is cozy but need some serious cleaning and repair.
We were hurried to order when there was no rush...
Food was good. Very good service too.would def recommend it
It was my birthday dinner.
This is one of my favorite restaurants! Great service and excellent food!
Tacos were but the steak quesadilla was very disappointing.
