Great food and service!
Food was not nearly as good as the one on park rd. service was average but forgot our drinks. the quest dip was not edible. Not good flavor. will not be back.
Food was good. Thought the table guacamole was expensive at $10.00.
Service was awful. We never saw our waitress after we ordered our food (was delivered by someone else) until she brought our bill. NO ONE asked us if we wanted a refill on drinks or more chips, which we did on both accounts.
Cantina 1511 is just....ok. We were expecting flavorful food and got just “ok”, somewhat bland and mediocre. The pork dish tasted like it was pre-made and warmed up to the point of tasting burnt. The tortilla chips had no flavor. The frozen margarita was decent. Kids chicken tenders and fries seemed to be a small portion.
Food was decent. Service was pretty bad. Price is on expensive side.
When I arrived for my 9:00 p.m. reservation at 8:55 the restaurant proceeded to explain that they close at 9:00 and would not be sitting us. There must be confusion between the restaurant and the information on the app. The restaurant made zero effort in trying to do something quick or asking if we wanted to take away. They wont ever see me again...
For a restaurant being filled to maybe 50% capacity the service was awful. I asked 3 different people who came to our table, a total of 4 times for a wedge of lemon for my water and it took nearly 20 minutes to get that. One of the severs who first came to get our drink order basically ignored my first two requests for a lemon and never came back. Our waitress the ignored my 3rd request so I asked the manager who brought it right away. Embarrassing that this is the type of service provided in a half empty restaurant. Chips and salsa arrived only after we asked twice for them which I thought was standard when you sit down.
The food was lukewarm and probably had been sitting under a heat lamp for a bit since it took 30 minutes to get our food and there were no refills provided.
At the end of our meal I just wanted to get out of the place but couldn’t because I didn’t have a bill and had to wait longer for that to come. Even the server remarked that she felt like she was behind in her service. That was an understatement.
Very very disappointed, in a price to service and food scale it was below poor. Far too much money for the service and lukewarm food provided. Gonna be a while before we go back here. The competition for dollars especially in this time of the pandemic is huge so I’d rather give my money to people who really want it and are working for it.
We love Cantina 1511. The food is fresh and authentic. We had the Queso Grill dip and chicken empanadas. Both were fantastic! Large portions that were easy to share. We sat at the bar and Whitney & RJ were our bartenders. They are funny and we love talking with them. We can't wait to go back!
Cantina was absolutely delicious, it never disappoints!
Alway's enjoy 1511... the food is excellent and service to very good.
This place is great. Loved the Margarita options and table side guacamole.
Excellent service and monstrous food-per-dollar value! Top-notch quality
Friendly prompt service. Plentiful portions. Good outside table. Table ready at time reserved.
Excellent food! Hot, plentiful and spiced just right.
First time at restaurant. We kept hearing about this restaurant on the radio that it was great. Food was good, not fantastic, but decent. I got fajitas and they were pretty charred and the peppers needed to be cut thinner and cooked longer. The lime that they brought was dry as a bone. They ran out of churros for the birthday boy so they brought him a Tres Leches cake, which was like a soggy mess. Overall I wasn't too impressed. Service was okay...again not great.
As usual, the steak and chicken fajitas were very good. The portion size was a little less than normal but still plentiful. Strangely our son went the non traditional route and had a burger w/bacon and avocado which he said was very good as bell as the fries.
Great service and probably the best fajitas in the area. Always an enjoyable meal!
The other Cantina 1511s have a nice feel to them as far as ambiance, but everything else was top notch! Our waiter was helpful and attentive and the food was great as always. *Does the queso fundido no longer come in a little fondue set up? We always liked that so our queso stayed warm.
Not at all the Cantina 1511 experience we have know and love. Just feels like any other Mexican restaurant out there. We’ve been loyal to Cantina since they were on East Blvd so were so happy to have one closer because we live in LKN. We’ve been going to Park Rd and have been to Stonecrest numerous times as well. This is the second time we’ve ate at the Mooresville location and it is subpar at best. Staff are slow and not very attentive (yes, it was Christmas Eve but again, not our first visit) and again not the experience we know to be Cantina. Food, atmosphere, people. No good.
Drinks were very expensive and not well balanced (Margaritas). Seems pretty high for the area. Food not very flavorful. My shrimp was over cooked. Rice and beans mushy and too much plantains for the dish. Carne Asada Burrito has very little meat.
The quality of the food at this location is not as good as the original in Charlotte. Tacos are still very good but not exceptional. Very noisy.
The food was excellent and the service was great. The noise level gets a little loud when you are trying to have a conversation, but we do enjoy Cantina 1511.
Best Mexican we’ve had in a looooong time! Great service and attentive staff, fun atmosphere
Four adults on a Friday night around 7:30. Seated immediately thanks to Open Table reservation. Our waiter, while polite, was not familiar with either the drink or food menu. Our margaritas (pricey!) were the worst ever. Food (reasonable but pricier than similarly-themed restaurants) was so-so. Guacamole made at our table was fresh and tasty. Chimichanga and shrimp skewers with plaintains were pretty good. Chicken and beef tacos were nothing more than "okay" and quite small. Baja fish taco was skimpy, no more than 1 oz of fish. Pork boracoa taco was tasty but also skimpy for the $$$. Environment is clean and very bright, family oriented (lots of kids), and several TV screens on the walls, adding to the noise. Doubt we would go back again.
Overall experience is good. Margarita’s are overpriced.
The service was good - our waitress was friendly and attentive. The food came quickly. Chips and salsa were good - usually a good indicator for a Mexican restaurant. But the food just wasn’t very good - my burrito bowl was bland and tasteless; my husband ordered shrimp fajitas and hardly ate any. And definitely expensive for Mexican food - especially not very good Mexican food.
Second visit. Server asked how food was but had a foot walking away at the same time. Did not offer a second glass of wine. We felt rushed and only tolerated as guests. My quesadillas were supposed to be crab and avocado. I never tasted any crab. I don’t recall bacon mentioned in the description. I would much prefer to be charged a necessary price than to be charged $3 for extra guacamole and sour cream. Radio personality John Hancock raves about Cantina1511. Must be the difference in locations. Somewhere you appear to be cutting corners. First visit was great. Not returning.
Great service but just a little off. The food was good but no salt and pepper on table. Drinks were way too sweet but southerners love their sugar. Compared to the original east blvd location it now seems to be more like a fusion of Cali-Mex meets the sugary South. If that, vs true Cali or even Texmex, speaks to you then you will love it. If you’re looking for heat and tart lime, it might not work for you anymore. Did love the boundary crossing tacos the best. Some will love, some will be disappointed. Know what you’re going for.
Great neighborhood find. The food was very good.
Visited as a party if three, sat on beautiful patio. Both drink and food menus were impressive. Fresh shrimp, delicious plantains and black beans were outstanding. We tried several dishes all were incredible. I've visited twice before and left review on Yelp with pics so I am already a fan, but this visit there was a miscommunication about certain dishes and their ingredients. When the manager learned of she stopped by and spoke with us. She listened to the mix up, apologized, spoke highly of her staff and comped our entire bill, drinks, apps, and all food. We were not expecting nor wouldve assumed any discount. I can and have raved about food but now I can rave about their customer service. What a compassionate managing style she has and I look forward to our next visit! We will continue to reccomend your place. You have surpassed all hospitality expectations this visit. Thank you.
Excellent food and the portions are generous. I will go back.
Had a Saturday reservation got there a little early seated right away only problem was after 20 minutes of being ignored by serving staff we got up and left.
Food was excellent service was a little slow it seemed they had our server spread too thin. She was doing her best to keep up but drinks went dry a couple of times and asked for things a couple times to get them. Again, good server just over taxed
Food and service were great!
We had eaten at 15:11 two or three times and had generally a very good experience. Our most recent experience did not live up to that precedent. The service was very uneven. The food quality didn't seem as spot on as our earlier visits. In particular the table side guacamole was just terrible. The server used one entire line with some avocado and a bit of tomato and literally zero seasoning. It tasted nothing but lime. We were able to pour some of their delicious salsa in it to create some flavor, but overall the guacamole experience was awful.
We’re 0 for 2 (4 total orders) finding something we like and probably won’t try a third time.
Good service from an attentive server so no issue there. Excellent salsa and chips. Main course was blah at best ... no spice, no flavor, light on accompaniments. Had to drown in salsa to spice it up. Won't be in a hurry to go back.
Jasmine was outstanding !! Best service we have ever had.
A different spin on ordinary tex mex. Great presentation but even better taste. All four of us enjoyed our meals.
