Good service, good food, great value.
Server was in way over his head. No attention to details such as empty glasses to refill, dealing with patrons in order as they were seated, not making excuses of lack of coverage. Had to go to another server repeatedly.
On the other hand, the food is some of the best we’ve had at any restaurant.
Schedule your prime-time crew much better.
We love Cantina 1511. Closest thing to 'real' Mexican food here in Lake Norman. Nice people and very responsive. We love the patio as its a bit more chill than inside.
We will return over and over for our guacamole, queso, margarita and taco fix!
The food used to be great, but honestly both of us were not impressed with our dinner.
We ordered chips and queso to start. This isn’t a huge thing, but not a great start when the chips that were brought out were basically a bunch of crumbs and the waitress never asked if she could get us more. I ordered a Moscow Mule, which I get frequently and I don’t think I drank more than half of it.
I ordered the tortilla soup, which has been a favorite for more than 10 years. It always comes with a couple of slices of avocado, this one did not. The soup was warm, but not hot and wasn’t as good as it’s always been. It was fairly salty.
For dinner I ordered the carne asada quesadilla and it almost tasted like the meat was bad. I took a few bites and that was it. The Hubs got an enchilada, which is has always loved in the past, but said it had very little flavor.
We probably will not return.
I think they are suffering from the same staff shortages that a lot of restaurants are. Also I think most of the servers were working outside tables which seemed to be in demand while we were eating inside. The server helping us was very nice but I think she had more tables than normal.
Food was good and there was a lot of it. The quacamole that was made tableside was not as good as I had hoped. Not horrible or anything like that but it was missing something.
We’ll be back at some future date.
We waited for our table we reserved for about 10-15 min after we arrived. Once we were seated outside as requested, our server was very sweet however they were very slow getting to us after we finished eating. When we went to pay someone had accidentally already closed out. There was some back and forth with the manager and he decided since someone rang us up we didn’t need to pay. We asked how much the bill was to at least tip he said there was already a tip left. We left a tip for our waitress anyway but it was a very strange experience overall.
Killer food, great service, awesome outdoor area! We will def be back
Both the dinner and the margaritas were average at best. It doesn't match up well with Don Pedro and certainly not with many of the smaller restaurants in the area like La Unica and others. Not so much that there was something wrong with it, just that so many others get it better and get it right.
Absolutely! Foo was great…service too. Best Mexican in town
Our server was busy but maybe said a total of 10 words the whole visit. Drink had flies in it, pours are uneven per drink, and food subpar. Won’t be going back.
Great service and great food!
Service was wonderful and the food was good but a bit overpriced. nothing special to look at inside the restaurant.
Always enjoy Cantina 1511! Tasty taco choices and love their made at the table guac!
Overall I was disappointed compared to dining at the Park Rd location. The service was terrible and the atmosphere was a little dull and our table was dirty. Probably wouldn’t return.
Great food. Too many babies screaming.
Lovely atmosphere. H
Love! Great food, guacamole is the best. We love sitting at the bar to eat mid afternoon!
Perfect as always! Thank you so much! I introduced my parents to this restaurant and they loved it!
First time at the new Cantina 1511 in Mooresville. Have been at the other locations in Charlotte many times over the year. The service was great as was the food. Love the jalapeño margaritas, the make at the table guac and the burritos and quesadillas. Both of us had chicken dishes and the chicken was tasty. Cantina 1511’s marinades are great. Will definitely be visiting again!
Honestly one of the worst meals We've ever had, we literally could not eat any of the three entrees. Even the margaritas were pure sour mix and we had to send them back as well. I would not recommend this restaurant
Much better than last time. Keep it up Mooresville!!
Great food and service!
Food was not nearly as good as the one on park rd. service was average but forgot our drinks. the quest dip was not edible. Not good flavor. will not be back.
Food was good. Thought the table guacamole was expensive at $10.00.
Service was awful. We never saw our waitress after we ordered our food (was delivered by someone else) until she brought our bill. NO ONE asked us if we wanted a refill on drinks or more chips, which we did on both accounts.
Cantina 1511 is just....ok. We were expecting flavorful food and got just “ok”, somewhat bland and mediocre. The pork dish tasted like it was pre-made and warmed up to the point of tasting burnt. The tortilla chips had no flavor. The frozen margarita was decent. Kids chicken tenders and fries seemed to be a small portion.
Food was decent. Service was pretty bad. Price is on expensive side.
When I arrived for my 9:00 p.m. reservation at 8:55 the restaurant proceeded to explain that they close at 9:00 and would not be sitting us. There must be confusion between the restaurant and the information on the app. The restaurant made zero effort in trying to do something quick or asking if we wanted to take away. They wont ever see me again...
For a restaurant being filled to maybe 50% capacity the service was awful. I asked 3 different people who came to our table, a total of 4 times for a wedge of lemon for my water and it took nearly 20 minutes to get that. One of the severs who first came to get our drink order basically ignored my first two requests for a lemon and never came back. Our waitress the ignored my 3rd request so I asked the manager who brought it right away. Embarrassing that this is the type of service provided in a half empty restaurant. Chips and salsa arrived only after we asked twice for them which I thought was standard when you sit down.
The food was lukewarm and probably had been sitting under a heat lamp for a bit since it took 30 minutes to get our food and there were no refills provided.
At the end of our meal I just wanted to get out of the place but couldn’t because I didn’t have a bill and had to wait longer for that to come. Even the server remarked that she felt like she was behind in her service. That was an understatement.
Very very disappointed, in a price to service and food scale it was below poor. Far too much money for the service and lukewarm food provided. Gonna be a while before we go back here. The competition for dollars especially in this time of the pandemic is huge so I’d rather give my money to people who really want it and are working for it.
We love Cantina 1511. The food is fresh and authentic. We had the Queso Grill dip and chicken empanadas. Both were fantastic! Large portions that were easy to share. We sat at the bar and Whitney & RJ were our bartenders. They are funny and we love talking with them. We can't wait to go back!
Cantina was absolutely delicious, it never disappoints!
Alway's enjoy 1511... the food is excellent and service to very good.
This place is great. Loved the Margarita options and table side guacamole.
Excellent service and monstrous food-per-dollar value! Top-notch quality
Friendly prompt service. Plentiful portions. Good outside table. Table ready at time reserved.
Excellent food! Hot, plentiful and spiced just right.
First time at restaurant. We kept hearing about this restaurant on the radio that it was great. Food was good, not fantastic, but decent. I got fajitas and they were pretty charred and the peppers needed to be cut thinner and cooked longer. The lime that they brought was dry as a bone. They ran out of churros for the birthday boy so they brought him a Tres Leches cake, which was like a soggy mess. Overall I wasn't too impressed. Service was okay...again not great.
As usual, the steak and chicken fajitas were very good. The portion size was a little less than normal but still plentiful. Strangely our son went the non traditional route and had a burger w/bacon and avocado which he said was very good as bell as the fries.
Great service and probably the best fajitas in the area. Always an enjoyable meal!
The other Cantina 1511s have a nice feel to them as far as ambiance, but everything else was top notch! Our waiter was helpful and attentive and the food was great as always. *Does the queso fundido no longer come in a little fondue set up? We always liked that so our queso stayed warm.
