Cantina 1511- Mooresville
The margaritas (pitcher $29) didn't have enough alcohol (or sugar). My glass was cracked. The waitress poured what was in the cracked glass into a different glass and returned it to me.
We were seated right away at the time of our reservation. Service was good and attentive. Food was tasty and great portions. The price was right on. The restaurant is a little loud. It is family friendly so not for a romantic dinner date. But, great for a get together! Looking forward to returning!
Beware the noise level is through the roof! Food was good, service excellent . Oddly shaped . Brightly painted. Family friendly dining. Fairly priced.
Second time I’ve gone in 2 weeks. Staff is very nice but lack training. Food wasn’t great. Probably won’t go back
Had the Baja Fish Tacos. They were very fishy tasting, which tells me the fish was old. I will not order them again.
Pleasantly surprised! Great food! Even the kids liked the food and that’s a win!
I have visited the Mooresville Cantina 1511 twice. The first time was on a Friday night. It was so loud that I finally stopped trying to visit with the friend I was having dinner with. I ordered a Chicken Chimichanga. The chimichanga came out the size of a brick and was stuffed with rice, black beans and a small amount of chicken. It would seem that I did not read the description of Cantina's version of their chimichanga well enough. I just figured that there would be chicken rolled up and fried in a shell like every other chicken chimichanga that I have eaten in my life! Boy, was I wrong. I was so surprised and disappointed. The meal was just not good. I ended up leaving most of the food on the plate. I did however finish a pretty basic margarita, and that was good! Service was fine.
My boys wanted to give the restaurant a try, so I thought I would be game and give it one more chance. We visited at lunch this time. The restaurant was not very busy and therefore I was able to carry on a conversation with the people at my table, which was nice! To start, the chips are hard with little flavor. We ordered queso, which we did not like. One of my boys had chicken fajitas and one had a steak and cheese quesadilla. The food, again, was mediocre, with my son saying the chicken in his fajita meal was hard and bland. By the time we left our lunch was $57 + tip for 3 people. (Only one person at the table had a Pepsi, the other 2 had water, so drinks were not a big factor in our total.) Service was just ok.
We frequent La Unica. We can walk out of La Unica, all of us being happy with our meal for $20 less. I do not think that we will be back to Cantina 1511.
It was a good experience food & service was hood
Great food, yummy chips and salsa! Huge variety of unique tacos.
Totally enjoyable!!! Definitely will be going back!
We went the second night that they opened and the food was very good, service impeccable, and drinks were at an acceptable price. The second time we went, the food was mediocre at best, the service was terrible, and the drinks were twice as much. $14 for a margarita is a little bit outlandish. I had the same exact thing the second time we went in terms of Food for the very reason that I wanted to know if they would be consistent. Considering it was way busier the first night and the food was good tells me that even though it was less busy their consistency doesn’t stay the same. Hundred dollars for four people with two drinks.
Just opened. Service wasn’t quite there yet. Food was good.
Worth trying again, but I was a little underwhelmed on this visit. Service was average. My entree was not very good, but my husband’s was fabulous. Appetizer just ok, beans and rice very mediocre too. Cute atmosphere and nice to have a more upscale Mexican restaurant in the area - looking forward to trying something different next visit and hopeful I will enjoy it more!
It was great food, can't beat the guacamole, and the margaritias were perfect.
Fabulous food! Great service and smiling faces:)
food was nicely presented and tasted good but service was terrible. Wasn’t offered chips/salsa — no checking on the table after food delivery or drink refills. Can’t figure out why it took so long to open as it felt the same as East Coast Wings (previous tenant). Disappointed
Service was terrible. Ordered drinks, came after our meals.
The food was very disappointing. The tacos were OK but my wife's fajita was awful. Basically a big plate of mushy vegetables and rubbery chicken. The vegan vegetable rice contained hard dried up corn and peas. Even the chips were tasteless. We dined at the Charlotte locations and they were good and was glad to see that this opened since its closer to our house. The surrounding area is nice and we did get served quickly with our rez but we cannot go back due to the poor quality of the food.
For together with family for dinner and drinks. Great experience.
The basic margarita didn’t taste like a margarita, more like limeade with a splash of something carbonated. The food and the service were great. The food is a step above your average Mexican restaurant and a bit pricer but delicious. I will definitely go back but opt for one of the other margaritas or forego them all together.
Great food and margaritas. Impressed with the service considering it was their second night open and had a packed crowd.
Great food but restaurant was way too loud. Margaritas were delicious.
Enjoyed our visit- the salsa was delicious, the table side guacamole was great. will definitely go back
I had high hopes for Cantina 1511 that were unfulfilled. I expected an upscale Mexican restaurant. When we arrived the interior looked more like a cheap Mexican restaurant/bar with huge TVs, padded tables, etc. We had to wait for several minutes for our server to greet us and take our drink order. After she did another server came up and asked for our drink order. We stated that someone had already gotten it & the server’s response was “Great! Sweet!” Then she just walked off. After we ordered our food, two taco entrees and two kids meals, it took 30 minutes to receive 3 of our meals and another 2-3 minutes to receive the other. Tacos were minimal seasoned. The meat was all dry. I ordered shrimp tacos and out of the two bites each bite contained shrimp shell. The prices were more of what I would expect for a better Mexican restaurant, very high for poor food, service & atmosphere. Prickly Pear, La Unica & El Cero Reyes will be just fine with the new “competition” in Mooresville.
