The food was average at best. Our waiter was very nice and attentive but the atmosphere of the restaurant felt like they just wanted you to finish your meal and get out.
Canonita is located in the Venetian shops and has a neat ambiance. We wanted to get lunch and had a reservation at 11:15, but lunch did not start until 11:30 so the wait staff was friendly and let us be until it was closer to lunch. I loved the chips and salsa and my husband got the chicken quesadilla which were both great. My chicken salad; however, was not great and I also had ordered it with dressing on the side, but they mixed it in. I chose not to send it back as it was not that big of deal, but would have preferred it made to order. Overall it was a good choice with minor things noted that could have been improved.
Absolutely a must go to if you are in Vegas. Faboulous food and drinks. Service was exceptional.
Food took 45 minutes and was wrong when it arrived
Plan accordingly for conferences! Attending a large conference at the Sands we had made a reservation for noon a month in advance. We were seated 50 minutes later to then be told the food would take another 45 minutes. No doubt they had significant trouble handling capacity during conference lunch times.
The pork, beef, and chicken tacos were dry and low on flavor. No sauce in the tacos, had to ask for salsa, the rice was decent but was not Spanish rice. No refried beans, black beans only and to top it off the lunch was was $65 for both meals which consisted of 6 street tacos between the 2 meals, double rice on each plate because we didn't want black beans, queso fubdido as an appetizer, ice tea and a margarita.
The only upside was the ambiance and the margarita was good. I expected authentic Mexican food here and didn't get it!
The reservation and check-in staff were neither helpful nor competent. It was only after we engaged Manager Katherine Keuling that the evening was salvaged. Katherine met our every need and expectation and made our night a success. Prior to our contact with her, however, we were ready to walk out. Staff needs immediate customer service training.
This was the best meal I had in Las Vegas. The food was incredible, like nothing I've had before. Definitely a must if you're making dinner plans!
Told server we were gong to show at another hotel and he zoomed our order through with check. Great he was so fast, we were only 15 min late vs much more. As result we didnt fully appreciate food but what we did was good.
Wonderful experience.. Had a very good time..
Got there 15 min late for a 10pm reservation. Flight was delayed. Got a text at 10:05 saying to go to front desk. Ten min later the kitchen was closed...how were they going to cook our food anyway? Not happy
Always a favorite when we're in Las Vegas. Good margaritas and good food. Like the bar as a nice option to hang out while others are shopping or gambling.
The food was excellent and the location with a table against the canal was great. Waiter was very attentive. My only issue was the entree coming out before the appetizers had been completed and cleared, so we felt a little rushed.
Wife and I enjoyed eating along the canal. Chips and Guacamole were delicious. Great sangria.
One of the better restaurants on the Grand Canal at The Venetian and great price value considering location. The Palazzo/Venetian sit-down restaurants can get overpriced for what they offer.
We came for breakfast and were seated next to the Grand Canal which was lovely. We ordered the apple/guava empanadas for an appetizer, as well as our main breakfast entrees, thinking the empanadas would be served prior. Unfortunately, no. They brought the empanadas after our entrees, so it kind of defeated the purpose of enjoying a pastry first. My husbands coffee was just yuck...he tried to drink it, but just couldn't get it down. He's not a coffee snob by any means, but said their coffee was just plain awful. My chorizo/egg tacos were just ok, but a little odd, and the waitress seemed puzzled when I asked her for some salsa for them. My husbands huevos rancheros were good and he enjoyed them. We were disappointed, as having lived in Mexico for 6 years we were looking forward to some authentic Mexican recipes, as claimed in the restaurant description. Definitely not similar to anything we have ever had in Mexico. Would not go back unfortunately, nor would we recommend others to try it. Our server was nice, as were the other staff we encountered.
Ambiance was good, terrace seating was very nice, service good as well, and fast. Food was not great, and not cheap. The only delicious thing was the guacamole and the pineapple margarita.
We go out for special occasions often. We made reservations to eat here before we went to go see the band Chicago. Our server Brian was excellent. The prices and the amount of food you get is ridiculous. You get charged $5 dollars for chips and salsa $9 dollars for chips and guacamole. All the appetizers were expensive . We didn’t end up ordering an entrée due to the fact that we were really not that hungry. We did order the guacamole and an appetizer of a seafood toastada which was very smal, 1 bite-size chip for $15 , And 2 Tito martinis . So two appetizers and two martinis came to $55 we left $65 and didn’t really eat anything. So I would not recommend this to a friend there’s plenty of Mexican restaurants that have outstanding service, food for a reasonable price. We are not cheap by any means but we do like quantity.
Part our server was wonderful. She anticipated all our needs and made great menu suggestions. Food was wonderful mimosa bar lots of fun!! We will be back!!
Celebrated my husbands birthday with a nice brunch glad we came here the scenery was beautiful you had the shops near you and the cute romantic boats passing frequently. Of course since it was indoors there was a little echo so it can get pretty loud with all the ppl walking and shopping but overall great the food really tasted like authentic Mexican food and the service was great!
We had made reservations ahead of time and the request of a table by the canal was granted. Our server was excellent. Very knowledgeable about the food and wine. We had a great time and will definitely recommend to others. Next time in Las Vegas we will have to revisit.
Food was not great. Service was very slow. It took 45 minutes to get our food. Will not go back.
It was ok but the service wasn’t the best. They don’t even refill the drinks
Fantastic food and service. Every dish we got was better than the next!
Came here for breakfast. The garden egg white omelette was delicious and went well with a spicy Bloody Mary. All was tasty and presented well. My daughter had eggs and bacon from the children’s menu. The scrambled eggs melted in her mouth. Both of our breakfast potatoes were not hot, but luckily we are not big fans of home fries. Churros were supper yummy, too!
Craving Mexican...our favorite! Good meal, lots of options. Decent prices. Great service.
Attentive service and good food. Seat by the Canal with occasional Gondola going by, was relaxing. Loved the text feature when table was ready.
Great service and food
Excellent service! The food was wonderful and our table was visited by both the manager and our fantastic server Brooke! I wish we lived nearby so we could visit again. Food was delicious!
Jesus good server. Brunch so yummy mimosas bar so nice
I love the Canonita! For years, I've eaten there every time I'm in Vegas! It's a perfect location on the canal. The food is creative and delicious. This time we had the braised beef tacos, the mole chicken, and the Cazuela De Mariscos (like a bouillabaisse). My husband was ecstatic about the bouillabaisse! Portions are moderate size, but are so tasty they are a good value for the price. And the guacamole was just spicy enough with warm and salty chips. Our waiter promptly took our order, made recommendations, and refilled drinks before we asked. He put our order through right away since we told him we had gondola ride tickets in 60 minutes. We had a fantastic meal. We wish we had the time to linger. If in Vegas go get your Mexican food fix at the Canonita!
Cenamos la Noche de New years eve. Nos parecio un lugar muy agradable y romantico para estar. La comida estuvo de 10, todo exquisito y muy bien sugerido por nuestro camarero. Creo recordar que se llamaba Marcus. Nos recomendo muy buenos platos y terminamos felices. Muchas gracias.
Small portion of food really overpriced. Margaritas were good but when we ordered them it was at the same moment the waiter gave us the menus, therefore we couldn't possibly know there were sooo many options. However, the waiter never asked us for clarification or specified "which one". At the end of the meal, we have drunk our traditional margaritas (of course!) and we were charged the most expensive ones... When we complained, the waiter said as we didn't specify, he brought us those ones... Wtf?! In addition, when we ordered our food, we asked for the "chips and guacamole", and he brought us an additional sauce that he later also charged us for. Terrible service.
Very good meal. On the gondola canal so a bit noisy.
Always our favorite go to! Best pineapple margarita On the planet
Canonita always has great food and is such a romantic spot to watch the gondolas go by
other than the waiter never offering to refill our drinks, everything else was great. The food was superb!
One of our favorite restaurants at the Venetian. Typically we either have lunch or dinner, this time we tried breakfast. The food was great, the service was exceptional and the overall experience is fun.
Everything was great! Mimosas bar was fun and all breakfast items we had were tasty. Definitely be back
Great Mexican cuisine. All you get in Mexico can be found here.
