As the only restaurant located along the canal-front in The Venetian® and The Palazzo®, Canonita offers guests a unique opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the Grand Canal with waterfront views of the resort’s famous singing gondoliers.
Outside of the restaurant, the Street Taqueria food truck recreates an essential element of Mexico City’s culinary and cultural landscape. The walk-up experience features a variety of street foods and house-infused margaritas perfect for grabbing a quick bite while walking the Grand Canal Shoppes.

The food is so good! The pozole was amazing, salmon was super tasty, churros are spectacular
Great restaurant, great service, great view
Great food. Beautiful location- on the canal of the Venetian- Las Vegas
The food was good, but pretty expensive for what we got. It was filling and the portions were good, but we just weren’t blown away.
Great service. Jesus S was top notch, great serve and good recommendations.
The raspberry mojito was fantastic.
Flautas and chips and guac we're wonderful.
Delicious meal in a gorgeous setting. If you’re in Vegas this is a great stop. The pineapple margarita and the mushroom enchiladas were fantastic.
We had signed up for a gondola ride, and needed a place to eat beforehand. This was a great option because the gondolas went right along there, and we were able to enjoy the beautiful singing. I love the “outdoor-indoor” feel of the patio. Sitting underneath the “blue skies” is amazing. For appetizers we had the flautas and ahi tostada. I enjoyed the flautas more, but both were delicious. My entree was the barbacoa, which was a large serving. My fiancé had the mahi mahi, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We definitely will be stopping there again on our next visit to Vegas.
Great setting and service. Very good food! Chicken Enchiladas and Steak fajitas are very good. Great place to sit and watch the gondolas go by. Jonathan was our waiter and was very attentive to all of our needs.
We visit this restaurant every year when we come to Vegas. It is comfortable, casual and overall good dining option. The food seemed a little blander than in past years. Presentation was nice but different. I had the pork in banana leaves, which I have every year. There was a huge piece of pork on top of a banana leaf. In years past, the pork was actually rolled inside banana leaves. The rice and beans were somewhat bland but large portions. My husband selected 3 tacos and said they were very good. The tacos came with the same beans and rice, so we pretty much ate less than one portion of the rice and beans. Perhaps refried beans would be more flavorful.
Great food and excellent service!!! Our drinks and water glasses were never empty. Our waiter, Jonathan, took really good care of us. My grandson ordered a cheese only enchilada, which is not on the menu, and when it came, it had chicken in it. Jonathan checked on us and whisked the plate away when we told him. He soon brought us a cheese only enchilada and my grandson ate the whole thing!!! Jonathan then gave us a complimentary dessert for us to share!!! Thank you Jonathan and Canonita for a wonderful evening!!!
Have eaten here several times and on each occasion the food has has been outstanding. The service this visit left something to be desired
On a passé une très bonne soirée, nourriture parfaite et excellent service.
Vue sur le grand canal et ses gondoles sous le ciel artificiel.
A recommander 👍
The food was very good, but too spicy for my liking. If the menu had rated the spice level of the menu items, I could’ve made a more educated choice.
The waitress never brought us water and never checked on us. Had she checked on us, she would’ve seen how miserable I was and that I had hoped to order a different menu item.
We asked for the check. 20 minutes later, she offered dessert but no check. Her ability to wait tables was not her strength which is not good in a service-based town.
Food was delicious , presentation was impressive and our waiter Nathan was very attentive
Had a wonderful meal and our server was excellent
This was our 1st time there and I felt the food was the best ever.
We will definitely be back
not worth it . got sick . food was horrible and over priced
Pablo did an excellent job serving us. The food was delicious.
One of our favorite spots in Vegas. Always a great experience!
Gerardo did a fantastic job serving my family of 7. The place was very busy. The drinks are fantastic as well.
Always great, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants anywhere.
Cañonita is a descent Mexican food. A little pricy probably due to its location, near the canal, in Venetian. We dined during the happy hour and the drinks were reasonably priced. Our server was very attentive.
I will be back! Fun drinks and great food. Love the salsa! Wish I could have bought it home to Iowa
Great service and food with a wonderful ambiance. Bridal luncheon was a huge success thanks to this restaurant.
Reserved a table for 7 people for my best friends bachelorette party. The bride loved the food and being able to watch the gondola rides. The food was great and the service was the best we’d received so far in Las Vegas. Definitely will be returning next time I’m in town!
We had a lovely meal here. The mushroom enchiladas are delicious. Ask for a view of the “canal” to watch the tourists floating by in the gondolas.
It was honestly one of the worst meals out that we've had in a long time. We ordered two different entrees, both were terrible (dry bland chicken, fishy shrimp, etc.) The margaritas were very sour. We love almost any margarita and neither of us could finish our drink. Last the waiter was sub-par. He took our order, someone else delivered our food and the only other time we saw our waiter was to bring us the bill. He never checked on us, offered help of any kind. It was so so disappointing. Definitely do not recommend this restaurant, the setting is cute but not worth it. :(
Absolutely delicious food!! The guacamole was the best I have ever had. Can’t wait to come back!!
Had chips and guac and the chicken fajitas. About what you’d get at a Chili’s but for 2x the price. Wife’s filet mignon was outstanding however. Slow service, wasn’t busy. Would not go back.
Great location service and food
This was a remarkably bland meal. For these prices, which compare to other nice Mexican choices on the strip (such as Javier’s) are outrageous for food that packs no punch. The claims to “Mexico City soul food” make Cañonita either an ambassador to a poor culinary tradition (which I doubt), or they miss the mark entirely. There’s no way Mexico City eats food with as much character as water. This was a very disappointing meal.
Everything was fabulous. New menu items were delicious and the server was exceptional.
Was here about 5 years ago. Same great service & food. Love the food and drink selections - appealing presentation. Excellent appetizers and main dishes. Staff was friendly and attentive. Glad that they’ve kept up their fine tradition.
Wonderful service and great food
Very friendly staff, good food and reasonably priced.
Fantastic!! Guacamole wonderful, Roasted chicken enchiladas wonderful, pineapple margarita PHENOMENAL!!!
Food was amazing also the drinks but frozen margaritas are the top, little less pricy as other restaurants. But Everything was Worth it. Will definitely recommend here.
Great atmosphere. Very good staff. Best barbacoa tacos I’ve ever eaten.
We sent two of our four entrees back because they were inedible. Our second round of drinks contained virtually no alcohol - it was too early in the evening to pull that nonsense.
Great spot for quality Mexican food on the strip. Good value for the $, nice setting , always worth a stop when your in Las Vegas
