As the only restaurant located along the canal-front in The Venetian® and The Palazzo®, Canonita offers guests a unique opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the Grand Canal with waterfront views of the resort’s famous singing gondoliers.
Outside of the restaurant, the Street Taqueria food truck recreates an essential element of Mexico City’s culinary and cultural landscape. The walk-up experience features a variety of street foods and house-infused margaritas perfect for grabbing a quick bite while walking the Grand Canal Shoppes.

Service was bad, too long to get drinks/food. Server mumbled while talking
Our dinner this past weekend at Canonita was outstanding. All 4 of us thought the food was amazing. This was only outdone by our server Adrianna. She was one of the best we have ever experienced. If you're in the vicinity of the Venetian, this is worth it. We will be back on our next trip to Las Vegas.
Great spot! Everyone was super friendly and the food was good! Would go back.
Sitting by the canals was fun! Great restaurant.
The food and drinks were amazing
Had a fun waiter casual and all six of us enjoyed our meal
I think this might be one of the best values at the Venetian! The margaritas by the pitcher are spot on.
Great food, really romantic set up.
Hostess was nice and friendly, drinks and food where good, salsa was the bomb.
A nice casual place to have lunch or dinner. Casual and kids would probably enjoy watching the gondolas float by.
I felt duped. I was expecting a decent restaurant. Instead it was one step up from fast food. Very disappointed indeed
Food was amazing! I made a reservation ahead of time and they got us our table right on time. The only downside was the slow service. We were there for over and hour before served any food.
Great food, big portions and reasonable pricing. Plus quick service. Probably the best place for you buck out there.
2 of 4 dishes were terrible and service was slooooowwwwwww...
Our server was great, the mood of the restaurant was very good, very clean,
Great food and service. The menu has great authentic Mexican dishes, the drinks are awesome, and service is very good. Will always go there whenever I am in Vegas
Great Mexican food
Excellent food and service Nathan L. Was so great! Can’t wait to come back again!
Food was excellent, great guac and crab cakes. The service was pretty slow and the bar was backed up so it took over 20 minutes to get a drink.
The food is good here. It is not a full Mexican restaurant like it used to be. They have as many fish items as they have Mexican food items on the menu. The menu used to be much better.
Food was good, wait staff was excellent but the hostess was horrible. We had a reservation but were made to wait even though our table was ready. After 10 minutes the snippy hostess deigned to seat us. The meal was good and the wait staff efficient. It was very noisy, but that is to be expected given the layout of the restaurant. Just as we finished our main course, probably 45 minutes after sitting down at our table, the hostess said she had a reservation in a few minutes and we had to leave, even though there were two other 4 person tables next to us. We called the waiter over and explained we needed our check and how rude the hostess was, and he apologized and went to get the check. I watched him go to the manager and complain about the hostess, and instead of coming to us to apologize she just walked away. We will never eat here again and will dissuade anyone who asks.
Food was good but as with most things in Vegas was way overpriced.
Despite our reservation, we waited 15 minutes to be sat, and another 15 after that to have our drinks order taken. The restaurant was busy, but they know when conventions are in the hotel and should staff appropriately.
Outstanding! The food was absolutely fabulous. Every single person in our 11 person party commented on how delicious the food was. The pricing was very reasonable and our waiter, whose name I wish I could remember, was attentive and always available to help. The only thing slightly negative I have to say is the noise level is higher than I would have preferred. Other than that I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant!
Always good. We sat and had drinks and appetizers . Great place
Came to Canonita for a quick lunch/dinner. Filet mignon was very tender, although the sauce they put over top was a little too salty for me. If I order again I will order with the sauce on the side as it was very much like an A-1 type. The seasoned vegetables were very good, cooked well. Also came with a type of corn bread which was not your traditional cornbread but it was warm, soft and sweet. My waiter was very conscientious and came to my table at just the right times. I enjoyed listening to the gondoliers sing as they floated along the canal next to my table. Atmosphere almost made me feel as if I wasn't in Las Vegas anymore. Definitely recommend and will dine again!
Service was fabulous. My wife’s short rib was outstanding. My Caesar salad should be removed from the menu. It was NOT very good.
Bar tender was very nice. Treated us to a special drink for our birthday. Service was great!
This place serves great Mexican food in great ambiance.
Very good Mexican food. The menu is very eclectic, but the food is awesome. I had the salmon, and it was incredible. Our waiter was very attentive and kind. Sitting along the canal provides a very unique experience. Would definitely recommend.
took a while to get seated due to our party's size and CES, despite having a reservation.
The food was so unique and very good!
Canonita was by far the best Mexican food we’ve had in years! It’s very unique flavors were exactly what we were looking for and we were not disappointed. Our server was extremely efficient and attentive without overdoing it. He was well versed in the menu and without being asked double checked all recipes with the chef because he knew we had an allergy at the table. The cocktails were spot on. The Mojitos were excellent! We highly recommend this spot and will definitely be returning next time we are in Vegas.
Thanks for the wonderful experience!
Delicious food and the service was excellent.
Good food. Great margaritas and chips and salsa. What sh they had reg cheese dip.
It was great experience in eating there on New Year's Eve 2019. Nice atmosphere very next to Gondola rides at Venetian Hotel and excellent services there.
Great variety of appetizers and entrees. Food was excellent. Also nice selection of drinks.
Good food and nice atmosphere located next to the canal. For Las Vegas the prices are reasonable and the food was good. Not easy to locate...in the back of the Venetian hotel. Service was average but pleasant.
We ate at Canonita two times in one day...that's how great it is! The only restaurant we saw right on the Grand Canal at the Venetian. Food, service, ambience...all 12/10...highly recommend! We ate the Mexico City Enchiladas (roasted chicken) and the Mexico City Burrito (carne asada) + took tres leches cake to go...YUM-O 👍🤩
