As the only restaurant located along the canal-front in The Venetian® and The Palazzo®, Canonita offers guests a unique opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the Grand Canal with waterfront views of the resort’s famous singing gondoliers.
Outside of the restaurant, the Street Taqueria food truck recreates an essential element of Mexico City’s culinary and cultural landscape. The walk-up experience features a variety of street foods and house-infused margaritas perfect for grabbing a quick bite while walking the Grand Canal Shoppes.

Food was good guacamole was good, drinks were good. Average overall. View of canal was great!! Could sit there a long time
Service was good and it was cool sitting on the canal. Food was not great. Steak was chewy and the chicken tacos didn't have a ton of flavor. For Mexican food on the west coast I was disappointed.
Delicious food, amazing atmosphere and good price!
Quality of drinks and food has gone down since I was there last time.
came out with a birthday dessert as we paid for the check
Great food and great service.
It was okay. We went for breakfast. The food is beautiful and tasted pretty good. Prices are decent for what’s given. It leans to the Mexican type of food, which I’m not fond of.
I got the pancakes which comes with bacon. I had to order eggs on the side.
It was beautiful there.
Yes for the view, otherwise another place would be my choice next time. I rate it a 6-7
Just good solid food, great flavors, relaxed. The only down side is they do not Open till 8:00. Even with a line of Customers waiting.
Waiter brought out our entree before our appetizer. To be fair they took the appetizer off the bill. Because the restaurant was not crowed I was disappointed in that aspect. However the food was amazing. I would go back.
Really great service, good food, fantastic setting! They also gave us complimentary choros because it was our wedding anniversary :-)
My husband sent the food back it had a horrible taste and smell, what he did eat he became sick all day yesterday.
The food was absolutely delicious and our server and hostess were awesome! The atmosphere is amazing!
Ambiance and service were friendly and enjoyable. Shrimp burrito was tasty but rice and beans were nothing special. My waiter was pleasant and the drinks were Great. I’d return to try another dish.
We wanted a casual location for drinks and an appetizer and had enjoyed this spot in the past so we thought that we would try it again. Unfortunately half of the restaurant was booked for a private party, which we were seated next to and it was quite loud. I actually had a difficult time hearing my table mates speak.
Our server was nice, but she and the bussers kept circling our table. She finally walked over an told us that they had another reservation and we had to leave, even though there were empty tables. We weren’t finished with our appetizer nor finished with our drinks.
No where on our confirmation did it say that there was a minimum F&B to be met or that there was a time limit.
The restaurant, recognizing that they had space limitations due to the private party should have limited their Open Table reservations.
Wish we could sit next to the canal. Unfortunately, all tables near the canal were for 2 people.
The carne asada was amazing as was the tres leches dessert! Highly recommend. Happy hour prices make drinking in Vegas somewhat affordable.
Great food, fantastic view - right along canal! Highly recommend!
Always a great stop when in Vegas, highly recommend the fresh Guacamole and chips, ask for a table on the canal.
First expereonfe at Cañonita. Food definitely exceeded expectations, particularly the Michoacán-style Pork. Will definitely repeat.
Would recommend. Good food, set and atmosphere. Frank
This place is consistantly excellent. The food is great and the jalapeno margarita is absolutely fantastic. I think that the Venetian is a great place to see interesting sights and some of the shops are realistic in pricing. Canonita is a reasonably priced mexican restuarant with well presented dishes and a fun, open environment where you can hear the gondoliers yodelling (some are pleasant to hear, some need autotune).
Good service, good food, and fairly priced for the resort.
Good food and drinks. Nothing over the top outstanding but overall a good experience. Would go back.
Always a Vegas favorite. Great food, ambience with terrace dining next to Venice canal.
Love this restaurant. Eat there every time I stay at the Venetian or even just go to Vegas. Great food! Fine dining Mexican cuisine. Everything I’ve had has been 10 stars! Service is just as amazing, always polite. Definitely need to try this place if you are curious.
15 wedding anniversary
Love it. It never fails to be a great dining experience
Mushroom enchiladas are awesome, the guacamole was their best yet.
Love the atmosphere here! Food and service are great! One star off because it is not Italian food... the only restaurant right on the canal, and it's not italian food. I'm sure that makes sense somehow! But aside from that, great all around!
good mexican food at not outrageous prices
the tacos were wonderfull, tasty and flavory, the ambiance great around venetian canal.
Was amazing—pork belly and Scallop dish was phenomenal! Everything was excellent—service, suggestions by wait staff, drinks, food!
Four School Friends Lunch Reunion.
What a wonderful place! The canal was so picturesque! The shoppes lovely! The menu amazing and the dishes absolutely delicious!
Our waitress was excellent, gracious, and very helpful in every way including taking our picture by the canal for a memorable souvenir.
the food and service was awesome!! the taco platter was amazing!
The menu is not as good as it was in past years. My husband was looking forward to the three tacos with beans and rice that he had for past 3 years. No longer on menu. There is only a 5 taco sampler. My husband said they were tasty but very tiny, and he was still hungry though I shared my cilantro rice and black beans. I had an uninspired burrito. I enjoyed the Santa Rosa pork in the past, but because we had to rush dinner to make a show, I selected something simple. Rice and beans were good but chicken filling was bland. Our server was excellent. We told her we had to eat quickly, and she placed our order right away. It was at our table in about 5 minutes. Every year we come to Las Vegas, we eat here. Food was still good but not as good as it used to be. It went down a notch, in my humble opinion, but prices went up!
Very good food, but as like everything else on the Vegas Strip, expensive.
Celebrated our 41st Wedding anniversary with a beautiful dinner and drinks.
The food was excellent and the service was outstanding . Our server Ismael was excellent, he provided background information on the meals we had and from which region in Mexico it originated from.
Highly recommend for not only special occasions but for family dining and visitors from out of town.
Great job to the entire staff.
We went here for a meal on the last night of our holiday. The setting is amazing and the food was lovely. Brian was our server and was very friendly
Very good food. Authentic
It’s been years since I’ve been here, now I’m wounding why? Food and service were outstanding!
