The small plates were creative and well prepared. We especially enjoyed the chicken drumsticks and the potato offering was unexpectedly delicious. A bit disappointed in the few entrees offered, but it gave us a chance to try other dishes. We will go back with friends.
We ordered a number of dishes to share—each had layers of delicious and interesting complexity; great service; comfortable ambience.
Always pleasant and yummy.
We have loved our dining experiences at Canon and appreciate the inventive cocktail list as well as their newer Sunday prefix menu. Their twist on classic California cuisine makes dining here each time a unique experience!
On both occasions that we have dined at Canon we have enjoyed the creativity and quality of the dishes we chose--what a fun way to share a meal!!
One of my favorite restaurants in Sacramento. The food and atmosphere are fantastic and welcome to all types of diners. Brunch service appeared to only have 1 Server, which caused some additional waiting for ordering/refills/cleaning dirty plates. Service was pleasant and fun as always
Canon is a fantastic restaurant with absolutely stunning dood and killer service. It’s an ideal date night restaurant.
Very creative food with delicious flavors. Service was very good. We sat outside and the seats were somewhat uncomfortable at the tables. Inside seemed very noisy. We had a very good experience overall.
Really creative and flavorful dishes from appetizers to the large plates and desserts. Outstanding cook and wait staff.
Hadn't been to Canon for about a year. The food was amazing! The desserts were good, but not as amazing as the small plates we had as our entree. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
This is our second time dining at Canon. The food again was excellent. The flavors are explosions in your mouth. The Kurobuta had great flavor, was a touch overdone. This is becoming one of our favorite places.
Sat outside. Extremely delicious food and great service. It was our anniversary and they could not have been nicer.
Great food, fun and interesting menu items, and very good service made for a great time with friends.
My wife and I had an amazing time at Cannon. The patio was beautiful, the service was spot on and all the food was creative, unique and delicious. We ate way too much, 5 small plates and we shared an entree. The small plates are very generous, so we went for a long walk after. We will definitely be back.
Amazing food, amazing place! Highly recommend dining here. Must order the chicken drumsticks!
This place to secret Hidden Gem for Sacramento. It suits anybody who loves to eat and white tables and be served like a king and queen. The food and presentation reminds me of Napa. The people that visit Canon no exactly what they're getting. Very affordable and very romantic location. We fell in love again after this dinner. I can't wait to go back.
Excellent restaurant all the way around!
Canon is an exceptional restaurant! It reminded me about the restaurants in Europe I miss so dearly. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. Glad we found this marvelous gem!
Every meal I have had here was excellent, the menu is fresh and seasonal. Try the Sweet Potato Cinnamon Roll to start brunch.
We felt very taken care of. The staff was very attentive and my water glass was never empty (a huge thing for me). Food wasnt great for me. i thought Thr Countess, the waffl;e, was over done frying wise and oily. The kimchi potatoes lacked some punch. The Frank's special was good as was the breakfast burger.
Staff was quite nice and the restaurant itself is beautiful. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff all wished my friend a happy birthday. However the food itself we weren’t as impressed. We got the octopus and clam conserva which was delicious, but the rest of our dishes were sub-par. The chicken drumsticks were cooked well but the meat of the chicken was missing in flavor, the outside was well seasoned while the inside was bland. We also got the steak that was recommended, this we were very confused on the direction that dish was going. Overall a decent dining experience, we would come back for a glass of wine and the octopus / clam conserva !
Gorgeous (the lighting designer should get an award)! We sat outside and it was charming. Our server, Andrew, was fantastic. A true professional with an adorable smile. The food was soooooo yummy. Corn fritters, heirloom tomatoes, pork tenderloin and desserts were impeccable. Can’t wait to go back!
By far my favorite restaurant in Sacramento. Having lived in the Bay Area for a long time, I am often disappointed by Sacramento's fine dining scene. However, Canon manages not just meet the standards of bigger city restaurant, but to exceed them. Every dish we had was wonderful, and they also have an awesome cocktail menu (their Bloody Mary may be the best I've ever had).
Best restaurant in Sacramento. Outstanding food and service.
My wife and I heard Canon was a super restaurant and were not disappointed. From the timely service to the delicious food, everything was next to perfect. My only complaint was that there were times we had to speak loudly to hear each other. We throughly enjoyed our experience and can’t wait to go back.
Intricate dishes that one would not be able to prepare at home consumed in a friendly environment. Canon makes eating out worthwhile.
Excellent food. Attentive service that was friendly and familiar, but still professional.
The dishes were imaginative and delicious. The grilled ahi and the grilled ribeye were astounding. The ahi may have the best we’ve ever had
At one point, someone in our party suggested a certain song by the Band “Boston” be played on dining room speakers. After our server left, our party turned to other topics—but 10 minutes the song started playing.
It was a wonderful evening, vastly improved by the quality of our experience.
The Sunday prix fixe dinner menu is a great value, besides being delicious and beautifully presented
We ordered the Sunday prix fix. The only dish that wasn’t outstanding was the peach galette. There wasn’t enough fruit so was overwhelmed by the pastry, making it dry. The peaches were sliced very thin. The rosemary cream was delicious. All other dishes were outstanding.
Our chicken was delicious. But by the time it came we had eaten our small plates. I think it would be better to serve the chicken with a vegetable.
Our Dinner Date was fabulous and fun. We were very impressed with the remodel of the Patio. It will be an All Season Patio soon with heaters and coolers. Mist system already installed.
All personnel are highly trained and knowledgeable of the food the Chef is preparing.
Amazing food and cocktail
Outstanding experience. Excellent service. Beautiful, delicious, innovative food. So exciting to try all the things.
Wow! This was our first time at Canon and we loved it. We've been to most of the best restaurants in the area and Canon is at or near the top. Bravo!
We came here for my husband's birthday. We had had the octopus and clam served with focaccia bread which was excellent. Followed by the corn fritters - good but I wasn't too thrilled with it. Then we had the urfa chile chicken drumsticks that were to die for! OMG so good! Followed by the salmon and watermelon, then the heirloom tomatoes. Both were equally fantastic. Hubby had 2 glasses of wine and I had a matcha colada cocktail. The bill was $135. Super reasonable for all that and the quality. Definitely returning for another occasion.
We have been twice now for brunch and once for dinner on the patio. Every time the food and service have been excellent. Can’t wait to sit by the fire pit with a specialty cocktail this fall!
This is a great restaurant tucked away on a side street in East Sacramento. The seasonal menu selections were fantastic and was matched by the service. I particularly appreciated the inventive cocktail and wine list. I can't wait to go back again.
I had heard a lot about this restaurant, and it wasn’t terrible, it just didn’t live up to the hype. There are other places to go in Sacramento for better food and a more interesting menu at similar price point.
A culinary delight! I was impressed with both the innovation and presentation of all the dishes and the menu. The concept is a bit unique and intimidating when it comes to ordering, but our waiter presented it all with ease and matched dishes together seamlessly. It was the perfect date night choice with a menu designed to be shared.
Interesting food and wonderful service. The staff really took great care of us. We sat on the patio, the noise level was perfect for a visit with old friends. I would definitely go again next time I'm in Sac.
