Canoe Restaurant Bedford
Dinner nightly @ 5pm
Tavern Mon- Sat @11:30; Sun@ 3:30pm
We had fantastic service and everyone loved their meal
Food was very good with the seafood choice and quality outstanding
And of course the specialty Mac & cheese was superb, but light on the lobster.
The waitress was over bearing. To have our conversations interupted (rudely) no less than 7 times, for petty questions and concerns, made the experience unpleasant. This was our second visit, and both times left us feeling "ok" but not impressed.
We'll be back. We enjoyed great food and fine service in a fun atmosphere.
We were very disappointed with our experience at Canoe. Our server was not terribly friendly, service was slow (we had to ask twice for bread that was brought in a bag!), the dinner I ordered was unavailable but our server didn't know that, the salad was drenched in dressing and the bill was very high for such a night. We dine out regularly and are always looking for restaurants with a good variety and nice environment. I am afraid this will not be one we come back to.
Great food and excellent service. Would return again!
I had the truffle butter filet and it was wonderful. My husband had a perfectly cooked steak. The potsticker app is a favorite every visit. Canoe has a nice wine list. We always enjoy delicious food and great service at Canoe!!
Was a bit pricey for what you got. Wine very overpriced. Meal sizes small (but filling) but in my opinion overpriced.
The food was excellent and the service was also top notch. I just really did not like the ambiance. The dining room was to cold and sterile. It lacked charm and warmth.
Anniversary dinner - we were greeted and seated promptly, no wait by 7:30 on this Friday. Sat on patio - much quieter. Great cocktail menu, especially for whiskey drinkers, plus martinis. Had hanger steak - prepared a perfect medium rare and delicious. Wife had what we called comfort food with a side of comfort food - an excellent meat loaf (Kobe beef!) with Mac & cheese. Service could have been marginally more attentive but we were not ignored at all. Will be going back, even though 20 minutes from home.
Upscale steakhouse, with a varied menu, very good food, execellent service.
As always, the potstickers are worth the 40 minute drive!! I miss the arugula salad but the Waldorf salad was delicious. Our steaks were prepared perfectly. Our server was attentive. There was a Patriots game on and even with a full bar crowd, the noise level did not disturb us. I would recommend Canoe for an exceptional meal.
Came here with my mom and husband to celebrate his birthday. She’s been here before and remembered how good it was. We started off with drinks. My mom had the hot and dirty martini which she loved, I had the painkiller, my husband had the blood orange martini. I like sweet drinks and the blood orange was not that sweet so glad I got the painkiller. For appetizers we had the sweet Asian calamari and the mushroom bruschetta. Both very good. For entrees I had the butter lobster roll with house chips. Excellent choice. I’ve been on s lobster roll kick and it hit the spot. My husband had the steak and fries but his steak was over cooked but finished it all. My mom had a salad with tuna. She enjoyed but was on small side which she wanted. We had a complimentary coconut cheesecake since there was a birthday. Very tasty. Never had a coconut cheesecake. Overall love this place. Prices seemed high but will definitely go back again.
We had the lobster roll and we probably should have split the sides of sweet potato fries and brussel sprouts. Everything was very good. This restaurant is very large but does a good job with sound dampening. Pleasant ambience.
Every time I’ve been here the service has been excellent and the food outstanding!
Went out w/another couple for a date night out. Had Marjorie as our server and she was AMAZING!!! Very attentive & friendly! She listened to our wants and needs. She was by far one of THE BEST servers we have ever had!!
Menu seemed a little limited but food was good. Drinks were fabulous!
Server was great. Unfortunately my Kobe steak was undercooked which dampened the evening. They comped dessert but didn’t leave me with a great impression.
Excellent service and very nice place. Food was very good - as always - with some nice choices.
Extremely good food. They even put the baseball game on for me when I asked. We also had a very large party and the service was superb. I wish we lived closer! I would visit again!
The potstickers are amazing and the bread too! We enjoyed tuna, swordfish, and lobster Mac and cheese. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious! Excellent service too!
Nice place that feels a bit like a national chain which is not a positive for me. Service on a pretty slow Monday was attentive and efficient. Need to mention that I choose the Scallops and they were expired. The accompanying Cauliflower risotto was good. The meal was comped so well done on them. I would try a second time when in the area.
Eatliaf, mac a d cheese was good...lobster roll very disappointing.
Food just ok. Meal came out lukewarm. Everything just ok. Would not dine here again though.
Great lobster roll!
Amazing meal and service. First time there. Will be back for sure.
Waitstaff was great. Food was fair and very expensive for the meal quality and quantity
Outstanding as always.
The experience as a whole was good. We sat outside because it was so beautiful out. We would highly recommend a redesign of the parking area adjacent to the outside seating area - maybe use the unused parking spots adjacent to the seating area to fill in with some plants and shrubbery. Would make it feel more outdoorsy with the Canoe motif vs. sitting next to people parking their cars.
Meal was good- my steak was requested as medium and half was presented more at medium well, but enjoyed it all the same! Great night out with friends!
we have been here a few times, but this time our server who was Dan was very pleasant and this was his first night on floor alone, as he had been in training.
Having been to Canoe before, and having a superior experience, once again the crew at Canoe came through for us with friends who hadn't been before. We all enjoyed our meals and service tremendously, particularly with Kevin's humor as he took good care of us!
The only issue we had was the time it took for the food to come out. Everything else was fantastic.
Great food, fantastic service!
We went for Mother’s Day brunch. We had to wait outside because they didn’t open on time and then everybody came into the restaurant at once. Not very accommodating with my gluten free requests because if something wasn’t available that is normally gluten free and they didn’t have it, they didn’t even offer a solution or explanation.
This was our first trip to Canoe and in general, the restaurant is very nice and we would probably go again. We sat next to a large crowd that tended to be a bit too noisy for our taste. However, the waiter was great, checked on us regularly, and was attentive. My dish (braised ribs) was great but my wife's shrimp & grits was a bit spicier than she likes (the sausage part and not the shrimp or the grits). However, I love spicy sausage so I get to eat them for lunch. The one nit (which may not be Canoe's fault) was the reservation time slot. We tend to like to eat around 12:30 pm but was told there were no tables available at that time - so we made reservations for 11:30 am (the only time slot available using OpenTable). However, we noticed that as we left around 1:00 pm (and there was no people waiting) there were a number of tables that had not been occupied since the restaurant opened at 11:30 am. It seemed to me that they could have easily accommodated us at 12 noon or maybe even later.
Food was great. Server was very innattentive and visited other tables over 5 times without checking on us for more than 30 minutes after we had finished our meals. We watched it her tables get their plates cleared, order dessert, get dessert and get their check before we were even visited once. This part of our visit really ruined our experience.
Spilt 1/4 of our bottle of wine and used my napkin to wipe it up.
This particular visit proved to be quite disappointing. The restaurant was not busy, service was good. The salmon was plated skin side up, when it was flipped over it was badly burnt on the top and so well-done it was very dry and tasteless. We were told by the on-duty manager that the salmon is always cooked well-done there. No apology was made. We requested it be sent back and cooked pink in the middle, it was returned after my table guest had finished his meal, again burnt to a crisp on top and raw in the middle. No apologies were made, we paid the over priced bill and left with much disappointed.
The food wasn't seasoned before cooking so everything tasted bland except the Calamari which was delicious. Place was a ghost town and always is but we keep trying but this time was probably our last. Just nothing great about this place at all. Won't be surprised if it closes sadly.
