About
Good food, great service, a bit pricey but overall an excellent place to go for dinner.
We did not enjoy our visit at all. The food was disappointing and had to be sent back and was to overpriced for what it was. The reuben tasted absolutely awful, and I'm just not even sure how that can happen. Oh well, lesson learned.
Reservation on line was easy!......Everything the night of the dinner was superb--from table location, service , food to the quiet atmosphere that made it feel like we were alone in the restaurant!! Everyone had a great time and we will certainly return again.....and again!!
Great time! I would definitely go again. My only minor disappointment was the creme brûlée. It’s something I order whenever I see it on a menu, and this was very thick, cold, and not something I will order again. Everything else was fantastic.
We had a delicious light meal. The service was good as always and we enjoyed our dishes!
Service was good. Fireplace was not working when we asked to sit near it. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Food was mixed results. Ribeye was excellent but more rare than medium ordered. Scallops were undercooked and sent back to seared more and came back overdone. Drinks were good. Prices were on the high side but it was not surprising. Location is across from an iHop and next to target and Lowe's so no ambiance there.
The food and Margaritas were delicious. The service was prompt as well.
The food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the House Chips and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Quick, attentive service and great atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.
Poor service, dry lobster roll, no water.
Had an incredible meal at Canoe for an early Valentine’s Day dinner with my dad. Excellent experience and will definitely return.
The apps are outstanding, the meal itself was average. It was uneven. We had the orange shrimp, meatballs and tuna for appetizer. They were all excellent. Will likely go back to give it another try.
The food and service were fantastic! Can’t wait to come back!
Excellent service and great dinner and cocktail. We've been back to this restaurant several times and are never disappointed.
The food was excellent. It was a little pricey, but that was to be expected. Would definitely recommend.
It was quite empty on a Tuesday at 6pm. Nice attentive waiter, very good drinks (Manhattans) and a tasty meal of ravioli. Bread was just ok, served weirdly in a white paper bag. Didn't have room for dinner but we'll go back another time.
Our waiter was awesome and the venue was perfect for private discussions amongst friends. I have recommended it to friends and plan on returning soon.
The haddock and the Filet were both really good, as was the craft beer I had from the bar. While a little pricey, the food was really good.
Service was slow and rest rooms were cold. Next time I would go to O's or SUNA both in same chain.
Everything seemed slow and we waiting over an hour from when we sat down until we received bread and our apps. Just felt like the server couldn’t be bothered with us. We don’t plan on returning after this experience.
The seafood here was really good. The seafood carbonara was prepared really well, as was the salmon. Service was also good.
I had the steak tips which came out perfectly cooked had the wedge with tips, also great. Our waiter Trevor was polite and personable. Good atmosphere with a nice fire place.
It was an overall good experience. The food was good, though the ambiance lent itself to being a lower light situation. Austin was a great server, and was very attentive.
Food and service was very good, I little on the pricey side but overall a great experience
I love this place. The server we had was attentive and very nice. All the food was great besides my husbands steak and carrots --arrived cold. We did not complain as it was new years eve and we had to get going to other plans. still will come back. Excellently plated. The only downfall for the NYE menu was that it appeared to be identical to last years NYE menu, which we also had.
I was disappointed that there was a limited menu during the holiday. No notice when booking.
New Years eve
We ate at Canoe on New Year's Eve. It was our first time dining there and we were pleased to have gotten a last minute reservation. Since it was a holiday, the menu was limited. We chose a scallop and a salmon dish. Both were good, but there was a large discrepancy in portions. The scallop dish only had three sea scallops over four small ravioli and two cut up asparagus. Thankfully we shared dishes and had salads and dessert, both tasty. We were a bit disappointed that there were no vegetarian choices as so many people are vegan or vegetarian these days. It would have also have been nice to have seen eco containers for leftovers (plastic was used) and a bread basket instead of the bread arriving in paper bags (which seemed odd). Overall, we enjoyed our experience, though.
Very accommodating for our large group. Staff was excellent!! Food was tasty. Drinks were great.
Had a wonderful evening with great service and excellent food.
Christmas Eve Dinner with Fiancé and Mother. Our server never brought us bread even after asking twice, had to ask for drinks and water, we got our appetizers but had to go get small Plates from the bar since server was no where to be found after waiting 5 minutes for her to come back with some as she said she would, the food was very good overall as always but service was lacking this time especially for the price of $49.00 for Christmas steak and Lobster Special and after asking when meal was served for salt/pepper and steak knifes only to get knives and nothing else. For an almost 200.00 check we expected more. We have been here before and service had always been good.
The did comp out cappuccinos at end of meal apologizing stating they were short handed due to holiday and with other larger tables she was having a hard tim keeping up.
Hopefully it was just a one time thing as we like the restaurant and have made it one of our more frequent special occasion date/birthday, etc .. dinner places.
Christmas Eve dinner. Surprisingly the special menu for the holiday was outstanding. Also surprised that there was so many diners. Great sign for the restaurant. The new chef has made an impact. Well done by all.
Food was good but too expensive for the minimal ambiance of the dining room. Server was pleasant but service was poor. Overall disappointing for what we were hoping would be a memorable Christmas Eve.
Our Christmas Eve dinner was great from the moment our server, Avery stepped in front of our table, to the moment we left
Food is always great. Too large portions to finish, but great.
Requested a quiet table and was put in the corner, thanks so much for accommodating us!
Dinner was delicious, as was desert. Drinks were kind of pricey e.g. $15 for a Manhattan that wasn't anything special, but commensurate with entree prices I suppose. The only thing they could have improved was to have split our entree (a 32oz Cowboy Steak) onto 2 plates, knowing my husband and I were sharing. They did bring a second plate, but I found both Capital Grill and Longhorn split for you, less awkward than at the table.
Delicious every time we go. Consistent and atmosphere is great.
Love the atmosphere service was great
Food and drinks not so good. Don’t think we will be going back
We arrived at 4:20 for our 4:30 reservation and didn’t get seated until 4:45.
The cornbread was good but there were only a few pieces bigger than a bite size and the rest was a bag of crumbs.
Two out of 3 of us had lobster bisque...the bisque was good but the lobster was rubbery and had a fishy taste.
Two of us had The Gobbler and one had the Turkey. The food was just dumped on the plate looking like something you’d get on the line at a soup kitchen...didn’t look appetizing at all. The turkey tasted good but the prime rib, potatoes and butternut squash were ice cold.
The Blueberry Crumble was just a scoop of blueberries....where was the crumble?
We were very disappointed with the meal. I recommended Canoe because I’ve eaten there previously and had a really good meal...I’ll never go there on a holiday again.
Thanksgiving dinner at Canoe has become a tradition and each year it is busier so others are deciding the same thing! Nice selection of entrees including the traditional turkey dinner, innovative apps, great bread, wonderful desserts. Thanks fir excellent service Carly!
The two of us went there for a Thanksgiving dinner. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were seated right away the special menu allotted for an appetizer, main course and dessert. We both opted for the traditional Turkey dinner, I had lobster bisque for app and pumpkin pie for dessert. The wife had butternut squash ravioli for app and pecan pie for dessert. All food was exquisitely prepared. Oh not to mention the cranberry cornbread brought to the table in a white paper bag, just like a bakery.
The wine was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from the warm welcome to the gracious good bye. Our server Karli was knowledgeable and friendly. This was our first time at Canoe but if their regular food is nearly as good as the Thanksgiving day choices we will enjoy a trip back there.
