Traditional meets modern in this new age Caribbean cuisine restaurant brought you by Chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph of E&R Hospitality Group.

Named after the Canje pheasant, national bird of Guyana, Canje pulls inspiration not just from mainland Guyana, but from Jamaica to Puerto Rico, and all the islands in between. Our menu explores the cooking techniques, ingredients, and many expressions of vibrant food across the region.

Tucked away on the east side of Austin, this lively environment brings a unique cocktail program boasting both spirit forward and fruit driven cocktails and a small selection of natural wines alongside our inventive food menu.

    Big fan of Canje. All around lovely experience for my partner's birthday. We loved every bite. Rachel was stellar. And we love the new expansion of the space!

    I’ll be dreaming of the Wild Boar Pepper Pot forever, might be the best dish in Austin! Order it with the roti bread and thank me later.

    Honestly, I don't think I've ever had food that flavorful before. Went here for date night and the vibe was hip and chill with low lights and sophisticated Caribbean decor. We ordered several sides and each one was amazing. While it is loud, the ambiance does lend a certain level of intimacy to each table. Javier was our server and he was genuine, prompt and accommodating for my allergies. 10/10 would go back.

    I value a nice meal and was treating a friend from Germany to Canje from a high recommendation from a friend. From the service experience I had, I would not return. Javier was our server and neglected our table from the start of the meal to the very end. It took 20 minutes for someone to even approach the table and when we put our order in it was coursed extremely poorly. Many times we sat without a drink or food in front of us.

    Absolutely my favorite place in Austin. From the hostess, the our server and the staff. The food is always exceptional. It is a great place to bring out of town guests for a unique and delicious dining experience.
