I went on a brunch date and everything about brunch was amazing. We ordered the chicken n waffles and the breakfast taco pizza. The chicken n waffles was out of this world (highly, highly recommend). The pizza was a lot of food (we ended up taking half of it home) and it tasted alright, not bad but not amazing. I think it's trying to be too much so the flavors are a little strange. The best thing of the whole brunch was the amazing drink deals... $1 mimosas and $5 carafes! I will definitely be going back for brunch and taking friends. The ambiance was nice and the service was good (our food came out really fast). Just remember, in Texas, they can't serve alcohol before noon without food on the table. For us, we were almost done eating by the time we got our drinks.
The dress code indicted casual elegant but forget the elegant when there are no table cloths on the table and the wait staff wear T shirts. The food is very good, the Pizzas look great although we didn't have any. It is a nice but very casual place, lends it's self more to Beer and Pizzas. There is ample seating and a nice patio with retractable plastic curtains for inclement weather. Great service.
The prix fixe for Valentine's day was pretty expensive. The quantity and quality of food was poor. My steak tasted ok, but I can make better at home. I'm not a chef and would pay $37.50 for something I've prepared. The service was ok, but I often felt like the waiter didn't really care about my questions or requests. He seemed like he was bored with us, and maybe had other places to be. The atmosphere felt like a boring Chili's.
Was not the best experience. Food was cold when served, wasn't that busy at 1:30 Sunday but still felt ignored.
Food was ok, felt it was lacking in flavor and seasoning. Drinks were great and service was great also
Good, a little hectic and slow
Slow kitchen, service is Ok . Waitress was distracted. Guy who brought the food was rude when he brought the wrong dish. Not sure why anyone would eat at this place.
I'm really glad we made a reservation through Open Table -- the place was packed. The pizza was good -- especially liked the flavor of the crust. I do wish they offered a choice of more toppings.
2 of our group were vegetarians. While there are some menu choices, the waitstaff noted that anything could be done vegetarian - just leave meat off/out. I had the Brussells Sprouts appetizer done vegetarian - excellent! Also enjoyed the Elote casserole. Rest of group had pizzas and salad. All very good. WIll go back. Have already told others.
Good food, unique and tasty culinary creations using good ingredients. The service was impeccable.
The food was good but even in an almost empty restaurant we had to go searching for our server a few times to order food. Their mimosa deal was good value but not enough to bring us back. If you are going to shell out $50 for brunch, the service should match the price tag.
We loved everything...Brussels sprouts, rigatoni and pizza!!!
I’ve been here many times. The food never disappoints but our server was pretty absent most of the dinner. I ended up finally getting up to pour myself water from a pitcher. I also asked for a side of Calabrian Aioli with my appetizer - which never came - so I asked for it with the pizza - and it still never came. I ended up flagging down another server (because ours was nowhere to be found) and she brought it.
All in all, good pizza, ok service.
The pizza was great . Also great happy hour options
Caesar salad wasn’t as good as it has been in the past. Lots of brown lettuce stems and not enough dressing.
Great food and service!
We LOVED our dinner! We got the High Roller, which is a giant pizza with 3 kinds of pizza off the menu. It fed 6 of us and each one was delicious! The waiter was prompt and great with refilling drinks. We sat outside and loved the lighting and feel of the seating and area. Definitely coming back as soon as possible!
We enjoyed our meal. The food was good. We had a strange experience with getting a beer. The waitress brought it half full and said the bartender said that’s how they fill it. We asked the manager and she said, no that’s right. I also noticed a weird odor near our table, but no one else smelled it. I would go back. Food was delicious.
Appetizers were plentiful and tasty, especially caponato.
Pizza was also tasty; high quality ingredients and flavorful crust. The big problem that kept this from being a first rate pizza for me, was that the crust was doughy on the bottom. The edges were fine but it lacked a satisfying texture.
On my previous visit, fried calamari was great. On this visit, the calamari tasted like a mixture of leftover and freshly cooked with a large amount of crumbs. The meatball lasagna was a big disappointment. It appeared to be several layers of pasta and meat with no type of sauce in between and a thin layer of tomato marinara sauce on top. The mixta salad and the baked pasta were very good. The service was so-so compared to my previous visit.
Everything was great! Server was wonderful!
We have had better service in past visits. Was very disappointed with service. Had to notify hostess that no one had come to take our order or even acknowledge we were there!
Too expensive for the quality of food. Very heavy on the bread/dough.
This is becoming a favorite place to gather with a group of friends when we're down south. Great food, not too loud, and relaxed ambiance.
Sorry to report that the food is just not good. The pizza is soaked and drooping, the meatballs are less than ordinary, the fried calamari is all breading. I did not taste a single item I liked there.
This place was amazing. We had a couple of appetizers and they were excellent. I highly recommend the brussle sprouts. They were amazing. Lots of pizzas choice. I highly recommend the one not on the menu (The honey bas#@%^). Service was great! Can't wait to go back.
I always find the food outstanding and the service is wonderful
I love their pizza - Napoli style which means a bit chewy. The toppings are great with fresh ingredients. Salads are huge. If you like Naan you will love their pizza crust - similar technique with very hot oven and short cooking time.
Friendly service and good food!
Really solid Neopolitan pizza. Crust is soft and doughy. San Marazano tomato sauce is super fresh and smooth. Terrific assortment of topping combinations. Salads are great, not an after thought...think fresh and portion generous (ie shareable).
Our pizza was a little under cooked this time. Crust was soggy. Service was excellent. Much bettter the first time I visited. I'll give it another chance.
We took my mom here for a family Mother's Day celebration. The food was delicious and the atmosphere had a cool, hip vibe.
Favorite pizza place in Austin. Last time I ordered the meatball sub - 'twas delicious! Also - the brussle sprouts with the balsamic reduction are top notch.
First time dining there and it did not disappoint. Had the rissoto balls and pizza and both were delicious!
We love Cane Rosso! Quick service and delicious food
This was my second visit. Still think it's a decent place, but food was not as good this time around.
Even though they slashed the wine list there are still an few goodies to be had. Ignore the haters and have an pie, Leonard!
I've tried this restaurant a few times now and have left disappointed each time. The cost for the food and their drinks are over-priced for what you get. An $8 Limoncello was half full in a small sized wine glass. $6 for four small pieces of garlic bread w/ cheese on it. Same issues with the pizzas.
Our service was great, so that's a big plus. Overall though, I won't be going back or recommending this place to friends.
If you're a lover of thin-crust Neapolitan-style pizza, you have to go to Cane Rosso. I'd been to the location once before when it was St Phillip and this is leaps and bounds above - from the pizza to the service to the atmosphere.
For starter, we got Bruschetta which was ridiculously good. We had a parmesan, arugula, balsamic, sweet pepper and mascarpone topping. It was the best bruschetta I've ever had.
For our entrees, we had the Regina Margherita and the Luana pizzas. We were torn between the regular margherita and the Regina, but boy was the Regina worth the extra two bucks. The mozzarella di bufala is insanely good! Its taste and texture is better than regular cow mozzarella and really elevates the pizza.
The Luana is meatier with sausage, hot soppressata and mushrooms, and has a bit of spice to it. It's a really tasty pizza, but I would probably opt for something less meaty and lighter next time as that's just my personal preference.
We couldn't resist getting dessert and opted for the tiramisu. Again, it was ridiculously good and the portion size was perfect.
The food here is such good value for money too. If you want something which is authentic, cheap, fresh and flavorful, check this place out!
Our experience wasn't good. We had reservations, so we were seated promptly, but right in the flow of traffic. And considering how slow the restaurant looked, it sucked to have crappy table.
It took well over 5 minutes for our server to make his first visit, and that was the timeliest service we received all night.
We ended up leaving before ordering our entree. Think about that: The service was so slow, and the food so medicore, that we opted to wait 7 minutes (yes, we timed it) for our check, drive home, and cook a DoGiorno pizza rather than wait any longer on average food or drinks.
