We loved our experience at Cane Rosso. However, I did not appreciate how they changed our reservation at the last second. We booked our reservation for a Saturday evening dinner the Wednesday before on Open Table, and opted for outdoor seating, since it was going to be a beautiful night. I received a call a few hours before we were supposed to dine, saying that there was a private party on the patio and the outdoor seating was no longer available. They were able to accommodate us inside, but I did not appreciate getting called the day of only a few hours beforehand. It seemed as though they would've known well ahead of time about a private event in their outdoor section, and could have either called us anytime the week before the reservation or changed their Open Table to reflect that. I did not think it was great restaurant service to call a few hours beforehand.
Great place to celebrate my birthday brunch! Love the Stars Wars artwork!
Delicious food + excellent service. I love bringing visitors to this place.
Good experience. Had a reservation & table was ready for us upon arrival. Great food & service. Good value in wine too. Provided a nice pour, unlike a lot of other Austin restaurants that overcharge & under-provide. All around great experience. Will go back!
Very good pizza. A little pricey. We were there on a Saturday, at about 4:30pm, so I can't comment on crowds or noise.
We were there with friends - service was outstanding. Food, salad and drinks were solid and we ate everything in sight. Avery favorable experience.
The pizzas were excellent and the server was very attentive. Will definitely go back again.
This is a fine place for a casual meal. The wait crew is friendly, prompt and capable. The kitchen turns out first-rate pizzas that are thin-crusted and inventively and skillfully topped with a variety of appetizing ingredients and accompanied by fine salads and other edibles. Prices are reasonable...with excellent service, delicious food and a bright, welcoming venue you will be pleased, as we were.
I can recommend Cane Rosso without any negative warnings. It is a great place!
Great food and happy hour prices on Sunday before 6pm. Great food and great value!
Great food and service. Will be back!!
The food was very good but the service was horrible, would do take-out option in the future. Took 10 minutes to be acknowledged and given water. Service overall was really slow and towards the end of our meal they started putting chairs up on the tables around us and legitimately played closing time.
This was a good place for our party of ten. We were able to get last minute reservations. The pizzas were goo and so was the salad. I wasn't crazy about all the dogs and you can hear the barking through the windows/doors when you are inside. But, this is Austin, what did i expect!
We brought our puppy for his first outing for a meal (we had done shorter outings before) and Cane Rossi was the perfect place for this. There wasn’t a crowd so we asked to be seated at a corner spot. The staff was great with us having him there. The pizza was fantastic. I love the style and it is done well. We will definitely come back!
Flavors and quality of the food were great. We went brunch and I got the brisket biscuit and my wife got the chicken and waffles. I would recommend them both. Their pizza is great too. A thinner chewy crust. Love it
I had been there previously with my boyfriend. It was really good. So I decided to bring my two daughters. They really enjoyed their food. Great service and food.
My son, husband and I visited for Sunday brunch on a recommendation from a friend. The atmosphere is casual and has a great looking patio but they weren't seating out there yet. Our waiter was awesome and helpful with his suggestions and was timely with refills, etc. He described the type of pizza they have which I likened to pizza that you actually get in Italy. Thin, soft crust. I really wanted to try the pizza but I also really wanted the pasta so I can't rate the pizza. The pasta Truffle Carbonara was very good. I tried my husbands Skillet Hash and ended up sharing both our plates because they were both so good. My son got the chicken & waffles and ate every bite! It's huge so I was surprised. The syrup was a bit too spicy for me but hey it's a waffle so I ate two more test bites just to be sure - yep it's a winner. If I were to order this I would definitely have to ask to reduce the spice if possible, since I AM a spice wimp. I noticed that they have a pizza/salad lunch special during the week so I'm hoping to go back soon to try the pizza. The portion sizes were good. We didn't need a to-go box but we were pleasantly full too. It was my birthday and I was too stuffed to order dessert but sure wish one of my guys would have piped up because the desserts look FABULOUS!! Oh well, next time! Cj
The food was delicious, but we waited about 30 minutes after ordering because the kitchen staff couldn't get our order right. We were taken care of, but it was an annoying.
It’s ok we had pizza that was a little soft but the salad was good
best pizza in austin! and always amazing service. LOVE this place!
The top of the oven needs cleaning
Waitstaff was very attentive for first portion and then sort of disappeared. His skater / actor presentation was sweet and familiar but at times a bit odd.
Love Cane Rosso! We sat outside so noise level wasn’t bad. The server kept forgetting about us but it was a busy night and the food made up for it.
While the food was not bad, it certainly didn’t wow us. The salads were good yet small (added chicken forgotten), pizza undercooked and not “gooey” as described by wait staff and pizza cheese not completely melted. Only bright spot was the deviled eggs! I would get them again. The dessert was just lots of pizza dough, chocolate and marshmallow...just a sloppy mess. It feels more like a place I would bring my kids and not my coworkers for lunch.
Great flavorful and interesting flavor combinations - and the square pizza is SO good! The sauce is amazing too!
The overall quality seems to have taken a hit. While the romaine cesar salad is back on the menu, it dressing was almost tasteless. And instead of croutons, there is a sprinkling of breadcrumbs. It was highly disappointing. While our server was nice he was inattentive. We have never expected great service here - don’t get me started but in the past the high quality food made up for that. My husband an I both question whether we will return anytime soon. This saddens me as I have been a fan and frequent visitor of this place for years including Deep Ellum and Fort Worth.
It was great for getting together from friends from out of town and bringing the kiddos along. Pizza is very good, service was good
Service was a little slow, but the waiter and host were very apologetic and rest of the night went well. Nathan was an excellent waiter. Food was outstanding as always, and they even treated us to a dessert for my daughter’s birthday. A fun evening; just wish they had a location in north Austin.
Our server was excellent. I would recommend the brussel sprouts highly.
Great food, good vibe, and Tara the bartender makes a KILLER bloody mary!!!
We sampled multiple pastas and styles of pizza with a group 4 pizzas, desert calzone and pasta —wonderful
To be completely honest, we were very very disappointed with our NYE reservation. From the hostess at the front to the splitting of checks it was a rough night. The main way I could describe the night: it was blatantly obvious that you had a bunch of people there not wanting to work on NYE. I would even say it seemed like the “B” team was on.
Don’t get me wrong, my fiancée and I usually love eating here. We have dined or had happy hour here probably 7-10 times in the previous 2-3 years. This reservation was the poorest showing by far. The worst part is that my fiancée talked Cane Rosso up to the group dining with us as it was their first time. Very disappointing. One of the beers our group ordered was out, we didn’t receive one of our appetizers until we asked again, 2/7 meals were completely wrong when they arrived but were eaten due to the group being hungry, and our pizzas arrived cold and soggy.
Don’t believe me on the experience? Our server had to come and tell us that they had run out of tomatoes. We could not order bruschetta at an Italian restaurant because they ran out of tomatoes.
Hope y’all turn it around. Really saddened by our experience a couple nights ago
We came here on new year's with our dog and they were very accommodating. The outdoor seating had heaters so it's not cold for our dog! Went in the next day and they remembered us! Service was fast and sweet. They are very friendly and attentive. The food prices were a bit high but worth it. If you're looking for a dog friendly place, this Restaurant is great! I only wished they had a small dog menu.
Food was mediocre. Service was indifferent. New Year's Eve, you might have made an effort. Previously liked the restaurant. After this visit, I won't be coming back.
Food is always great. Servers are real nice folks. Just a really good place to take the family.
Nice change of pace pizza..had the one with all the baconey items and the best little sweet hot peppers! Server was very busy, so drink refills were slow. Seats too hard and uncomfortable to linger for long..but the delicous banana pudding made it worth the wait.
Food is great!! Great kid options. Any pizza is good but any with Hot sopressata is amazing!
Great waiter and food was delicious! Love the habanero honey. Disappointed they didn’t have Valentina’s brisket.
Food good. Nice environment. Casual.
Always delicious. I tend to go for the artisan pizzas, my wife likes the pasta. Excellent bread and pizza crust. Full bar with a well-poured old fashioned. Kid friendly! Book in advance for parties larger than 4.
