I had been there previously with my boyfriend. It was really good. So I decided to bring my two daughters. They really enjoyed their food. Great service and food.
My son, husband and I visited for Sunday brunch on a recommendation from a friend. The atmosphere is casual and has a great looking patio but they weren't seating out there yet. Our waiter was awesome and helpful with his suggestions and was timely with refills, etc. He described the type of pizza they have which I likened to pizza that you actually get in Italy. Thin, soft crust. I really wanted to try the pizza but I also really wanted the pasta so I can't rate the pizza. The pasta Truffle Carbonara was very good. I tried my husbands Skillet Hash and ended up sharing both our plates because they were both so good. My son got the chicken & waffles and ate every bite! It's huge so I was surprised. The syrup was a bit too spicy for me but hey it's a waffle so I ate two more test bites just to be sure - yep it's a winner. If I were to order this I would definitely have to ask to reduce the spice if possible, since I AM a spice wimp. I noticed that they have a pizza/salad lunch special during the week so I'm hoping to go back soon to try the pizza. The portion sizes were good. We didn't need a to-go box but we were pleasantly full too. It was my birthday and I was too stuffed to order dessert but sure wish one of my guys would have piped up because the desserts look FABULOUS!! Oh well, next time! Cj
The food was delicious, but we waited about 30 minutes after ordering because the kitchen staff couldn't get our order right. We were taken care of, but it was an annoying.
best pizza in austin! and always amazing service. LOVE this place!
The top of the oven needs cleaning
Waitstaff was very attentive for first portion and then sort of disappeared. His skater / actor presentation was sweet and familiar but at times a bit odd.
Love Cane Rosso! We sat outside so noise level wasn’t bad. The server kept forgetting about us but it was a busy night and the food made up for it.
While the food was not bad, it certainly didn’t wow us. The salads were good yet small (added chicken forgotten), pizza undercooked and not “gooey” as described by wait staff and pizza cheese not completely melted. Only bright spot was the deviled eggs! I would get them again. The dessert was just lots of pizza dough, chocolate and marshmallow...just a sloppy mess. It feels more like a place I would bring my kids and not my coworkers for lunch.
Great flavorful and interesting flavor combinations - and the square pizza is SO good! The sauce is amazing too!
The overall quality seems to have taken a hit. While the romaine cesar salad is back on the menu, it dressing was almost tasteless. And instead of croutons, there is a sprinkling of breadcrumbs. It was highly disappointing. While our server was nice he was inattentive. We have never expected great service here - don’t get me started but in the past the high quality food made up for that. My husband an I both question whether we will return anytime soon. This saddens me as I have been a fan and frequent visitor of this place for years including Deep Ellum and Fort Worth.
It was great for getting together from friends from out of town and bringing the kiddos along. Pizza is very good, service was good
Service was a little slow, but the waiter and host were very apologetic and rest of the night went well. Nathan was an excellent waiter. Food was outstanding as always, and they even treated us to a dessert for my daughter’s birthday. A fun evening; just wish they had a location in north Austin.
Our server was excellent. I would recommend the brussel sprouts highly.
Great food, good vibe, and Tara the bartender makes a KILLER bloody mary!!!
We sampled multiple pastas and styles of pizza with a group 4 pizzas, desert calzone and pasta —wonderful
To be completely honest, we were very very disappointed with our NYE reservation. From the hostess at the front to the splitting of checks it was a rough night. The main way I could describe the night: it was blatantly obvious that you had a bunch of people there not wanting to work on NYE. I would even say it seemed like the “B” team was on.
Don’t get me wrong, my fiancée and I usually love eating here. We have dined or had happy hour here probably 7-10 times in the previous 2-3 years. This reservation was the poorest showing by far. The worst part is that my fiancée talked Cane Rosso up to the group dining with us as it was their first time. Very disappointing. One of the beers our group ordered was out, we didn’t receive one of our appetizers until we asked again, 2/7 meals were completely wrong when they arrived but were eaten due to the group being hungry, and our pizzas arrived cold and soggy.
Don’t believe me on the experience? Our server had to come and tell us that they had run out of tomatoes. We could not order bruschetta at an Italian restaurant because they ran out of tomatoes.
Hope y’all turn it around. Really saddened by our experience a couple nights ago
We came here on new year's with our dog and they were very accommodating. The outdoor seating had heaters so it's not cold for our dog! Went in the next day and they remembered us! Service was fast and sweet. They are very friendly and attentive. The food prices were a bit high but worth it. If you're looking for a dog friendly place, this Restaurant is great! I only wished they had a small dog menu.
Food was mediocre. Service was indifferent. New Year's Eve, you might have made an effort. Previously liked the restaurant. After this visit, I won't be coming back.
Food is always great. Servers are real nice folks. Just a really good place to take the family.
Nice change of pace pizza..had the one with all the baconey items and the best little sweet hot peppers! Server was very busy, so drink refills were slow. Seats too hard and uncomfortable to linger for long..but the delicous banana pudding made it worth the wait.
Food is great!! Great kid options. Any pizza is good but any with Hot sopressata is amazing!
Great waiter and food was delicious! Love the habanero honey. Disappointed they didn’t have Valentina’s brisket.
Food good. Nice environment. Casual.
Always delicious. I tend to go for the artisan pizzas, my wife likes the pasta and meatballs. Full bar with great old fashioneds. Plus kid friendly! I recommend groups book in advance for parties larger than 4.
Looking forward to the new menu, as this one has a lot of bad dishes on it. The sole chicken dish was dreadful.
The food was great and the service was excellent however; I’ve been coming here for 10 months and I have always been given my government/military discount. The manager this day refuse to give me my discount because I wasn’t in uniform and I have never have been in before to receive my discount. Very disappointing.
Really over exceeded expectations!! So delicious and waitstaff very friendly
We absolutely love Cane Rosso! They have the best Sicilian style pizza that I've found in Austin so far and their pasta dishes are just as delicious. You can't go wrong with the eggplant fries, either. The only downfall that we've found so far are their desserts. Nearly everything is in a jar and with the exception of the mud pie, which has ice cream and chocolate sauce, it's all super dry. Cannoli's and mud pies are fantastic, though!
Very nice birthday lunch with friends.
We went for Restaraunt Week. Had to ask for that menu. Waitress was nice but not super interested in service. It wasn't super crowded and service was on the slow side. This seems small but we asked for some extra salad dressing since the kale salad was a bit dry and they charged $1 extra for about 2 tablespoons of dressing. Good tasted fine. Good thing some $went as donation to food bank otherwise it
easy worth it.
Good just was not very good. Service was good. The $3 bloody and $1 mimosas for Brunch was good value. But the food was just not very good.
Food was good quality. The Eggplant Parm Fries and Fried Mozzerelka were yummy. Found out that Neopolitsn-style isn’t my favorite. Super thin and floppy crust. But it tasted fine. Service wasn’t that great. We had a table of 5 and our food came out at staggered times and some items were forgotten. They also don’t serve ranch - because “it would mess up their certification” (for the Neopolitan-style I guess). Which is okay but came off as pretentious. But the place is fine. Cool interior.
The wait staff is always pleasant but service is always slow. It takes too long between the time you are seated and greeted. And too long to get your drinks after you place your order. The food is fantastic. I love this place.
Square pizza is really square bread
Excellent food everything I tried... appetizers pizza pasta... loced it all
Our waitress was superb! Really a good mix of being there when we needed her and leaving us alone, plus she was very kind to give me tastes of two wines and was clever and cool. I loved the taste of my pizza (margherita with eggplant added) but the texture of the pizza was strange- really soft and did not hold up. Also, my leftovers at home were too soggy and weird to eat- and I love pizza left over. The rose I had was good, and the ambience was nice. Just wouldn't return for that pizza, I have to say.
Excellent, fresh food. Great drinks. Consistently fun and reasonably priced.
Brunch is freaking good, try the chicken and waffles! And $1 mimosas!
The waiter was not as attentive as we would have like..we began to sit an wait more than to enjoy the meals as something was always missing or delayed. The food was not as enjoyable. The waiter did not explain the dessert options well.
