Candela Cucina is an upscale Italian restaurant from Servedwell Hospitality in the historic Candleworks building. Candela Cucina is not just another Italian American restaurant, Candela is an authentic Italian restaurant. Candela’s menu ranges from classic Italian dishes to innovative contemporary creations, all crafted with the finest ingredients.

This new concept from Servedwell Hospitality is in partnership with Peter Biondi. Pete has opened other Servedwell concepts and has worked at several NYC Michelin-starred restaurants. The menu is crafted and overseen by Chef Josh Riazi. Josh has been overseeing all Servedwell’s culinary development and operations since 2018. Josh has worked in several highly acclaimed restaurants; most notably, Josh was Executive Chef at Al Forno in Providence, RI. Josh is assisted by Chef Joe Melo, a Servedwell alum, who will oversee daily culinary operations at Candela.

This is our fourth time here ! The repeat loves are the Swordfish And The Pistachio Ice Cream . Today I tried the Hot Italian Sausage & Pasta Special and it was delicious ! We sat at a table for two in the inside patio and the tables were set apart just nicely .. service and food is always excellent. Can’t wait to come back and try new things!

The lovely former Candleworks building is such a great dining space.e we had a table out in the "glassed porch" area in the corner. it was lovely sitting out next to the beautiful pansies and able to admire the lovely building. we both ordered the special saltimbocca which is risky as good veal is tough to find. The service was exceptional - attentive but not "hovering" - the veal was a bit tough and hadn't been pounded out well so there were spots of cooked and less cooked - sauce and accompaniments were both great. In all a lovely meal and we'll definately be back as there were several entrees that also looked amazing. glad we have another restaurant in New Bedford that's easy to get to, lots of parking and the prices weren't "crazy $$". Thanks for making our anniversary dinner a special one.

Ciao e Pepe was delicious as were all the entrees. Large portions…split a salad and it was plenty. Gorgonzola cheese on salad was a slice, not crumbles…oozy and delicious. Wine suggestion by our server was right on. Noise level was not at all bad until a group of women came to sit near us and they were loud. Beyond that we enjoyed a perfect meal with dessert and coffee to top it off! Affogato and pistachio ice cream were both yummy!! Attentive, professional service. Rare! Well done! Worth every cent.

Great space, large bar & outdoor patio were packed too. Nice big menu, generous portions & high quality ingredients. Attentive service & fair pricing. Nothing but stars. ⭐️

Amazing from the moment we walked and greeted by hostess and then taken to a wonderful table. Our waiter was so versed on every part of the menu. So helpful and kind and did not rush us at all. Truly a wonderful and relaxed experience. The food was above and beyond - the waiters help with choosing our meal which was a perfect match to what we would enjoy. His personality and attention was not experienced by us in a very long time in any restaurant. I can’t recommend this unless there is rating above 5 stars. Such a SPECIAL experience and meal. Highly recommend it!
