Canaletto Ristorante Veneto Ratings and Reviews
You'll know the place by the obnoxiously exotic and expensive vehicles parked in front. I tell myself this is strictly publicity, God I hope the food isn't like the curbside show. It wasn't. The service was good, the place is lovely, gorgeous open kitchen. The food was delicious! We will most definitely go back!
We were charged for the next tables food. After that correction we were handed someone else’s credit card with the bill & our credit card was given to someone else. We had problems trying to rectify this with the manager. Our credit card was charged multiple times. After a lot of frustration & argument we left paying nothing as we insisted on the ridiculous experience.
The restaurant was super clean and fresh. The knowledgeable wait staff Argos and assistant were charming and efficient. Their recommendations were thoughtfully made and were spot on.
The octopus grilled without the potatoes was charred and lemony. The steak was scrumptious and very well presented. The children’s bolognas was tasty and all plates were cleaned off. A fun time by all.
We keep coming back for the varied menu and the excellent service. Our waiter made some great recommendations which we ordered, and we were not disappointed. The tab was north of $200 for four people without alcohol which is average for Newport Beach. There were two large parties where we were seated in the front room by the fireplace, which made it pretty noisy, but we didn’t really notice it until they left. We’ll be back for sure.
My wife and I were visiting from Palm Desert. We started with a a magnificent appetizer of buratta cheese with prosciutto and roated vegetables. We both had a wonderful Northern Italian dishes. Our waiter, Guido, real name was a wonderful, friendly gracious waiter, we both agreed we will be back next time were in Newport Beach.
This is go to restaurant. it is always very good. I ordered Cannelloni di Pollo. I have not ordered this meal before. It was first time (in dozens of meals here) I have ever been disappointed at Canaletto. I just did not like it. Everything was very good as it always is.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Canaletto. Particularly like the window that allows you to see into the kitchen. Our server, George, was great. Very attentive and friendly, making sure we had a good experience without being overbearing. Started with a margherita pizza which was delicious. My husband had a pasta with sausage and enjoyed it. I had the ravioli filled with pear and cheese tossed with asparagus and it was very good. Ended the meal with a little gelato. The portions were a good size, you were definitely satisfied without feeling like you over did it.
What a treat for visitors who did not have much options for going for Thanksgiving dinner! This wonderful place was open for us from DC to have a nice family meal with our daughter. Great food! Great service. Everything excellent!!! Wow.
We had salads, seafood stew, seafood pasta, ravioli, and great drinks.
