Canaletto Ratings and Reviews
I've been to Canaletto several times as a go-to spot in the Venetian. Unfortunately, this time not only was the food poor quality, but the service was poor, with a distracted waiter. In fact, most wait staff seemed to be hanging around the kitchen and looking at their phones. Worst of all, I made a reservation through Open Table and when I arrived, I was early and I told the hostess at the front desk that I had a reservation and that I had arrived early. They had like 9 or 10 open tables, and they said no problem. The next day, I start getting emails scolding me for "no-showing", which is really stupid since my name was on both the reservation and the credit card receipt that I paid with. I had the Goulash which had meat that was so tough I couldn't eat it, so basically I paid $25 for egg noodles and butter. My guests could not finish their meals due to their meat being tough too. How do you make fish too tough to cut with a knife? That takes a special skill on its own. My business guests were so disappointed they refused dessert, and I was not only embarrassed by the poor food, but I felt harassed by the "no show" accusation. We'll not be returning.
Every time we are in Las Vegas we try to eat at least one dinner at Canaletto in the Venetian Hotel. I love the feel of eating outdoors but still remaining in doors. I like to watch people stroll about out side the restaurant and the music played in the central court. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. We brought our own cake to celebrate my birthday and the staff at the restaurant accommodated our every need.
Probably the best location in the entire Venetian-Palazzo complex, Canaletto serves decent and not too heavy Italian food. If you sit on the piazza, which feels like you’re outside when in fact you’re indoors. Service was very friendly and professional. Prices are reasonable.
You might get some live music on the piazza, which is nice unless you want peace and quiet.
Our entire family enjoy the experience very much! The atmosphere was perfect! The lighting and ambience was just right and the sound was minimal. Our waiter did a great job and gave wonderful advice for a particular wine during dinner. Thank you for great experience and we would highly recommend it to others.
Came for Thanksgiving meal. Turkey meal had a lot of variety with delicious sides of stuffing, sweet potato, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and green beans. Turkey was not dry, but was not the best ever either. Good option for family meal when traveling out of town.
Service was excellent.
We ate here prior to show. We got our food in plenty of time. It was served hot and very tasty. The atmosphere is great....it appears you are sitting outside with the painted ceiling! We requested to sit in the patio area and it was a great start to our evening. Service was fantastic.
I had requested (via phone call to the restaurant) a table in the upstairs dining room. Upon arrival at restaurant, we were told that the upper dining room tables were only available by arranging in advance with special events staff. We were seated at a table just inside the dining room, which was very noisy......no ambience whatsoever. Service was sketchy at best. It was my husband's 60th birthday and I advised the server as such upon our entry, and when making the reservation. we ordered drinks immediately which were slow to be delivered to the table. as were our meals. Food was ok at best....spaghetti and meatballs were terrible, odd tasting meatballs and very heavy smoked flavor. House salad was overdressed. Prices were very high based on quality of food and portions. Overall, a very disappointing evening for what was expected to be special evening out.
Professional, friendly service; asked for several items not on the menu and they came through with flying colors! (standard caprese salad and linguine vongole both were excellent). The gnocchi bolognese was light, meaty and just enough spiciness to the marinara to make it special. Will definitely return next time in Vegas.
Terrific Restaurant. Truly enjoyed the service and the food was very good. Try the calamari best ever mm mmm . It is a bustling location with lots of noise of people chatting and music playing. We were group of 7 and loved it. For Vegas great value we would return.
We sat down for a business lunch about 11:30 and the singing in the background made it impossible to hear the person across the table from you. The performance was fine but it needed to be for a couple minutes and it seemed like it went on for a half hour. Thanks.
I love Canaletto. I have been to Vegas once or twice a year for the last 8 years. A friend brought me to Canaletto about 6 years ago and I go every single time I am in Vegas. Sometimes I go more than once. Their Pear Ravoli is literally straight from heaven for me. I have friends who have loved the Lobster, the calzones, and so much more. I would highly recommend.
The Venetian is the best place to have dinner. The shops and restaurants are on a different floor than the casino, so you can go with your family without walking through the smokey casino. The ambiance is great if you sit "outside". It's like being in a real italian restaurant in a piazza in Italy. The food wasn't as exciting as the ambiance and service, but I would go back.
