This was our first time here for brunch.
We would not return for brunch.
Their dinner however is amazing.
So we will stick to that when dining here.

Best broccoli I’ve ever had. Pork chop was good but way too much for me to eat!

It was my fourth time there and again a home run. Not only is the food just amazing (I won't even try because its beyond description) but the waite staff is perfect and the pacing is impeccable. Normally when you eat in courses, there is lag time or overlap time - somehow everything magically came in perfect pacing - my husband and I agreed it was possibly the best meal we've enjoyed together.

Way too loud! Food was fine but not amazing, kind of a fun locale for the right event. Outside may be nice!
Was not overwhelmed by the food Service, less that good...That being said it was super crowded, so a lot of people clearly like it a lot. Reasonable prices...

Our dinner had a ton of flavor! We got the half chicken, pork chops and the broccoli! I give the food all 5 stars!

We had never been there before and the menu had a lot of items that I have never heard of. When we asked our waitress she seemed unsure about some things (maybe She was new to working there).

Besides that everything was up to par. We had an amazing experience!

Loved our time at Campfire! We had Roman bring out whatever was the best of the best. The food was delish and being surprised was fun. Thanks for a great date- and even swift service since we were on our way to a concert. We’ll come back again!

Bottom Line! This place is AMAZING! The personal care of the staff is fantastic; eye contact, positive demeanor, genuine personality and knowledge of items on the menu! They are also very attentive with filling up your glass for water. The food is outstanding! We had the roast chicken for two and the herbs were just phenomenal! Mouthwatering, not super salty, phenomenal! And it was fantastically moist! My husband and I declared that this is the best chicken we have ever had! The roasted broccoli is something you crave daily because it is just outstandingly prepared just . . . perfect. Thus, there are 19 restaurants within a 4 block radius of where we live. We have gone to Campfire weekly for 17 weeks! I cannot tell you about the other restaurants, I can only tell you that Campfire is the one!!!

Loved Campfire and would highly recommend it. The food and the drinks were unique and so delicious. The Campfire team went out of their way to make sure everything was satisfactory. We had an misunderstanding of reservation time and the manager was amazing. Not only did she they rectify it immediately, they sent us over complimentary food which was not necessary. I havent experienced service like that in ages. Food and service were both outstanding!

Broccoli. Just order it. It's amazing. I could eat just that. I had the American Wagyu medallions, the rest of my party had the whole fish, pozole with scallops, and scallops. Everyone loved their dishes. You also must have the s'mores-- fun and delicious. Our server was great. My only complaint would be waiting 15 mins past our reserved time to be seated. The restaurant dining room was empty. If the staff was not ready yet, then reservations should start at 5:15. I overheard 2 parties that came in after us who were put off by the same. But. If you're in a good mood, and you're chatting amongst your group, you may not notice this. Other than that, wonderful restaurant.

While I always recommend Campfire, My guest and I were equally disappointed. I made open table reservations, clearly stating a birthday celebration for both of us. Upon my guests arrival, she too stated we'd be celebrating birthdays. Drinks were always delicious, however, a pear kale salad came with NO pear? A hostess gave an answer that "it was infused in the dressing?" She was incorrect, pear was clearly stated as part of the pear kale salad, after several requests we received the missing ingredient. Exchanged gifts with one another, ran into a table of old friends, upon returning to our table check was ready and waiting????No mention of if we were celebrating anything, or if we'd like anything else, perhaps a celebratory dessert as we had BOTH mentioned we were celebrating birthdays. We left disappointed and Campfire is no longer my go to recommendation for celebrations.

Regards,
Melissa

The ambience and entire environment was great!! Food was very good. I thoroughly enjoyed my “lower east side” drink and “American wagyu” meal. My boyfriend got the scallops and liked them but did feel there was a few too many flavors attempted, but overall was pleased with the meal. Meals are smaller proportions because they’re technically meant to be shareables. The s’mores of course were a great final touch for desert! Cool experience.

Liked it more than I thought I would. The broccoli was special. The waxed beans tasty. Found the brancino to be the best in town, better than Herb n Wood. Good job, Campfire.

The service was very disappointing. We had 2 different servers at first, it took a long time to get drinks (we wanted more but didn't happen), missing 2 water cups for our party of 6, entrees came when the dirty app plates were still on the table, the kid meal steak was very rare had to send it back twice. My boyfriend is a chef- we came here for his birthday dinner and he was disappointed, he ordered the scallops and didn't feel 3 small scallops were worth the $30+ price of the entree. The food was seasoned well, we would try to come back one more time with the expectation of good service next time around.

Excellent vibe and ambiance. We really enjoyed the fun “theme” this restaurant has. Our server was great and provided excellent service. The food was very good and we enjoyed the s’mores for dessert. Only concern was the ribeye we ordered. I felt fine but my husband did feel sick after. Our ribeye was medium rare and we got the sharing size. Or did seem less cooked for what medium rare normally is. But the gnudi and drinks and desert were all great. Would return but likely not get such a large steak or ask it to be medium.

Hands down: yes. We made a dinner reservation for our anniversary even though neither of us had ever been and we both agreed it is in the top 3 best meals we've eaten in San Diego. My husband and I like to share food so we got the charred oysters, broccoli, homemade bread, and gnudi before closing it out with the s'mores. Everything had such distinctive flavors but nothing was too overpowering! We had the intention of getting entrees as well, but we were so full from all the appetizers that the decision was made we'll come back for the entrees soon. You honestly cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, however, my husband favored the broccoli while my heart sang for the gnudi. Our servers were Maya and Anya, both of whom were extremely welcoming and knowledgable, making it feel like we were guests in their home rather than patrons at a restaurant. Bonus: you can bring your dog to sit outside with you!

What a fun experience! We were a party of 6. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. We were pleased with the location of our table. The menu ( Brunch) is interesting and there was something for everyone.

Maya, our server was outstanding. The whole team works together and we had remarkable service.

The waffle (pumpkin, almond, vanilla, cinnamon) was a favorite. The brisket stole the show for my husband & son. I enjoyed the veggie quiche very much. We are looking forward to our next Campfire meal.

My husband and I have always loved dinner here but this the was the first time we went for brunch! It was amazing! Great food and a lovely space. The food is definitely something special so if you are looking for a big plate of bacon and eggs this isn’t the brunch for you- although my husband had a large plate of steak and eggs!

Fantastic restaurant in Downtown Carlsbad. I've been several times and it actually seems to be getting BETTER each time I visit! How weird is that? I went with my foodie sister (lives in San Francisco) and she was impressed which says a lot as she dines at some of the BEST restaurants in the City. Service was great, ambiance was amazing (albeit a bit dark as we needed to use our iPhones to read the menu as there wasn't much light). We got seated near the front and it was a bit breezy but asked our server to close the bifold door which she did no problem. The noise level was a bit loud in the restaurant (and the couple next to us was fighting which was very awkward) but the food made up for it. We ordered the charred broccoli (which is a must); the beet salad; the scallops and the waygu beef. All were cooked perfectly and the flavor mix was incredible. We had a few drinks - mine was gin and beet juice with lemon & thyme and it was DELISH! Can't remember what my sister ordered. We ordered s'mores for dessert - everything is homemade - the cookies, chocolate and marshmallows which you roast yourself over coals. Superb meal. Definitely go - it was my 4th time there but like I said, it keeps getting better!

We've been several times to Campfire, including for lunch, and have always found it (and its sister restaurant) . worthy of our investment in time and money. Thursday with friends who came a distance, however, I was struck by the cost of relatively simple dishes. While the $8 dollar cocktails are well priced, the simple beet dish or vegetarian bowl didn't seem to warrant the charges. Why should lunch in a nearly empty restaurant cost $25? Maybe the price point has become unnecessarily high. Since Michelin's award of Bib Gourmand status, I suppose my concerns will fall on deaf ears.

Spent our last night in CA at Campfire and can’t imagine a more perfect spot. Best food, service and overall experience we’ve had dining out in ages. The cocktails were so interesting and delicious. We started with the grilled brassica and char grilled oysters. Both were fantastic. I had the whole grilled fish and my husband got the smoked duck. I would highly recommend both. Kids loved sitting by the outdoor fire while we waited for our table and we ended the night with s’mores at the table. It was an experience we will not soon forget. Our server was so delightful and made the evening even more enjoyable. She was knowledgeable about the cocktail and dinner menu and gave us great suggestions. We will be back!

The entire dinner was an experience... loved everything starting with the grilled oysters, grilled calamari, roasted broccoli, grilled whole fish, etc. would definitely go again and again!

Great place for ambiance and drinks. Food is only ok and certainly not worth the cost. When you request over easy eggs and med rare fish they both shouldn’t be served well done. They did replace them but it was an error visible to the eye so why bring it that way. Belgium waffles were tough. Quiche was just ok and overly salty.

Limited lunch menu, but 3 pages of drinks. Confusing in that you need waitress to tell you if the dish is a sandwich, a bowl or something on a plate.

$13 for a glorified BLT with thick bacon and spicy sauce.

There are many other options in downtown Carlsbad.
