Overall not a terrible place, but I wouldn't recommend it to my friends. The food took forever to get to our table, we were seated outside in the dark area of the patio, even though there were tables inside. Tables are too close to each other, and we could hear a conversation from tables around us. It was loud and noisy, even outside. The food is overpriced, wine list is pretty small. The only reason I would go back is for cocktails...
Overall, the service and drinks were excellent! A bit pricey, but absolutely delicious. I had the lower east side cocktail and would go back just for that. Otherwise, the food was not worth the price tag. Salt was the theme for the evening and it was evident in everything we ordered :( We had the gnudi appetizer, which were extremely salty almost inedible. The roasted broccoli was delicious but lacked enough sauce to account for the mountain of broccoli. We then ordered the Cavatelli pasta dish for dinner, which was a cream based mushroom sauce.. also SO salty and barely had mushrooms or squash in the dish. I would maybe go back for drinks (average $13) and atmosphere, but definitely not for dinner.
Fresh food & great service! My favorite dish was the broccoli and the aloe black cocktail was delightful.
Starters and cocktails were good. Main dish selection and choice (pork chop) were just ok.
Had the chefs special dinner. It was spectacular!
Campfire was fantastic. The food, service and ambiance exceeded my expectations. We were there for my boyfriend’s birthday and Stephanie really made it a special night. If broccoli was served that way - everyone would eat it. Thank you Campfire!
Service was exceptional - everyone at the restaurant was very attentive and gracious. Food was well prepared and tasty. On the expensive side with small servings
Server was outstanding. Tables were too close together. Food was very good as well as the cocktails.
Wonderful family friendly atmosphere with food for all ages.
Food was outstanding and so was the atmosphere. I thought overall the service was good but two of us went for brunch and we were there an hour and 45 minutes. Food took way too long and we were not offered a second cocktail while we waited. I just thought the dining experience was too long for brunch/lunch.
The farm to table food was elegant and delicious. The service was above the call of duty. The ambience inside the restaurant have a pleasant appearance. I would return back to get again such a nice boutique location.
Having been to Campfire several times in the past, this was a truly exceptional dining experience better than we have experienced before. Our wonderful waitress Stephanie recommended the camp feast, a 6-course tasting menu featuring items not on the regular menu. Not only was she the kindest and most attentive waitress I’ve ever had, but the food was spectacular and well presented, and the menu itself was fascinating with options atypical of traditional tasting experience. With such fantastic service and excellent food, I will not hesitate to return again in the future.
Nice Brunch, a bit chilly. Service was fine, not notable. Food was tasty.
Best meal I’ve had since moving to San Diego. Food was fantastic and their cocktails are what dreams are made of. I loved the pot de créme we had this last time. They had a cocktail a few months ago that I literally have dreams about. Very excited to go back.
Went to Campfire for lunch. Really cute restaurant with great service. It was pretty expensive though and the price was not in line with the casual atmosphere. For these prices, I would expect to dine on the ocean.
We always enjoy Campfire! The staff and food are incredible. We will return again and again.
It was lovely. From the host to the waitress, everyone was so friendly. The food was inventive and delicious, and of course the s'mores were divine.
It was my wife’s 70th birthday so we wanted to try something different. Campfire was highly recommended by some of our friends. We went with another couple to celebrate.
We shared 5 different appetizers. I loved the beet salad and sprout bread. It was the first time I ever tried steak tartar or salmon tarter. Both were very good.
We shared a waguy steak which was out of this world and a fish type stew which was not to my liking.
At the end of the meal they brought my wife a birthday dessert which she enjoyed.
I would go back just for the beet salad and steak
Been here for lunch a few times but not for dinner.
Finally got a reservation for dinner and went with their camp feast.
Blown away by most of the 6 courses. One misstep occurred on the soup course, but because their service is so damn good their management took care of it immediately.
Bottom line: this place is legit: delicious and great service.
We love trying different offerings on the Campfire menu and now regularly couple meals there with our outings to the nearby New Village Arts theater. When we go with a group of friends we always enjoy sharing a variety of dishes with each other.
Food here is outstanding! The Broccoli and Pork Chop dishes were our favorites. Service was a little off for our meal - it look a very long time between dishes and our server would disappear for periods of time. Despite this, highly recommend Campfire.
Unique and very flavorful food. Seating is a little uncomfortable but it’s about the food and drinks. Some plates are a little small but at full plate price, but that would be my only real complaint.
Campfire is a great place for all ages. Michelin quality restaurant at affordable prices and decent wait times. You get to taste high quality food without breaking the bank. Received Gourdan award and rightfully so. A must try if you're within 2 hours driving distance of this hidden gem.
Always wonderful. Great cocktails, unique well prepared food and no attitude!
Excellent and creative menu choices. Food is very flavorful. Sharing plates is a good way to explore the menu. Also extensive cocktail choices. While it is on the pricy side it is worth it.
Delicious food and fabulous drinks! Highly recommend if you are in the mood for a hearty, meaty dining experience! Did I mention the great cocktails and wine.
Enjoyed the Chefs choice option. It was delicious, creative, and fun. The service was absolutely amazing!!!!
Celebrated my birthday here. Cocktails were great, food was great, ambiance and decor was amazing. There was just quite a lag between our appetizers and dinner and also quite a while for our server to come by and ask if we wanted more drinks. Still loved it and will be returning.
The food was decent but It was very loud. Very, very loud.
Campfire rocks, particularly the food and drinks. The service was great, but they get backed up when busy so things take awhile. No fault of the servers, but be prepared to wait longer than usual for your food on a busy night.
Great food and service. While fish awesome and simpers a fun desert
This was our second brunch/lunch visit to Campfire in a year. Fun ambiance, friendly and helpful servers, and really delicious food. Try the Camp Rice Bowl with brisket.
Gods is quite good but we booked a table and despite ample room in the back were seated right in front of the entrance. It was pretty chilly and the staff left the patio door open while cleaning the tables outside as well. We were only given a better table when we asked for it halfway through our dinner. That being said, our waitress was very sweet and attentive and everyone enjoyed the food. I particularly liked that the kids menu is not the regular fried fare and my toddler enjoyed her grilled fish.
I sat on the patio, which was airy and warm, and the noise level was relatively muted even on a busy Friday night. Had the squid a la plancha first: it had just the right citrusy and charred notes, and the accompanying hummus and shrimp chip were perfect, but the squid included pickled radish(?) that had a florally note I didn’t care for. The pâté was outstanding: It came with a blueberry reduction that helped to offset some of the richness, and the sourdough toast slices had the perfect crunch for this dish. Finally, I had the highly regarded broccoli - unique, delicious, with a hint of citrus, perfectly caramelized. The seasoned/candied peanuts went perfectly with the broccoli. Had a nice red blend glass of wine with my meal - it was light and drinkable.
It took a while for someone to notice I was done with my meal and ready to close out, but that was the only real hiccup in otherwise friendly and knowledgeable service.
Great service; menu has signature, healthy and DELICIOUS selection!!
Such a great night. Every time we go it is consistent and delicious. Anya was our server and she was amazing. Attentive and patient without being invasive. She was a delight and made our evening even more enjoyable. The s’mores are a must every time !
I think this reataurant is OVERRATED!!! Food was exceedingly salty. They had a tag team of reception personnel and each didn't know what the others were doing. After making a reservation days in advance, we watched as numerous walkin customers were seated. After reminding them of our presence we were finally seated at a tiny table in the corner by the front sliding door, which was open and letting in a blast of cold air. The wait staff also took up a haphazaed tag team approach without any coordination. Why the restaurant was listed as being in the top two was a complete mystery to us!
Great experience! I’m dreaming of the broccoli and bread!
Campfire is a good place for informal dining. The food was good and the service was excellent. The food was just a little over priced I’ll give the proportion.
