Always a great meal and super fun cocktails!!
Wonderful food and outstanding service!!
My fiancé and I have loved going to Campfire since it opened, but this time was different. The service was awful. We were seated for about ten minutes before anyone came by to greet us or offer us drinks. It was the nice guy that fills your water. It took our assigned server another five minutes to finally come by. She asked if we wanted to order drinks, but we had been waiting so long that we were ready to order everything. The food came before the drinks (brought by other servers) and, when everything was on the table, our assigned server came by again to ask if everything was alright. I got through about half my food, when I needed a refill on my drink. We tried getting our server’s attention for another five minutes, but since she never checked in or even looked in our direction after the food got to the table, we ended up flagging down a random server to ask for a refill. Another five minutes went by with no drink, so I just kept eating without one. Eventually, the drink came after I had finished eating. The tables to our left and right were getting great service, with their servers checking in regularly, but we were completely ignored. Since our server was busy tending to other tables and neglecting ours, it was unsurprising that she never came by to ask if we needed anything else. We again had to flag down a random server and ask him to let our server know—wherever she was—that we were ready for our check. When she finally moseyed over with the check, I found out that her name was Echo B. I left a $0 tip. If you’re reading this and think that’s cheap, I HATED doing that. I normally tip between 15-20% and as much as 25% if the service is really good, but this was the worst service I’ve had in years. I would come back because we like the food so much, but if we got this server again, I would actually ask for someone else.
Excellent creatively prepared food in a stylish, comfortable room. Our server was focused on creating the dining experience we wanted rather than a set formula, and she achieved it nicely!
WE WERE BOTH SICK AFTER EATING THERE. ONE OF US HAD WAGU BEEF STEAK. IT WAS $29. SHOULD HAVE KNOWN - FOR $29 YOU WOULD NOT REALLY BE GETTING WAGU BEEF. IT WAS TOUGH AND NOT FLAVORFUL. THEIR MENU IS TOO DIFFERENT FOR US. WILL NEVER GO BACK.
The food was wonderful, very flavorful. The menu selections were creative. The portion size was adequate, not too overwhelming but enough to satisfy us. This restaurant works best with a group of people so multiple items can be ordered and shared. My only complaint was that the restaurant was very noisy. With the concrete floors there was a lot of background noise at our table from surrounding diners.
Great service, innovative cocktails, delicious food!
Very lively atmosphere. The branzino was to die for.
I've been to Campfire five or six times, and it's only gotten better. The cocktails are actually off the hook (get the bourbon and duck fat one if you're down). The broccoli is never to be missed, and the oysters, beets, and everything else are not to be missed either. Go!
Fantastic foods, friendly staff, and quick service. We will definitely come back!
We come here to celebrate occasions and just for great food. Bring me a food that we wont like to surprise us... cant happen they said.
The food was wonderful but het the service was outstanding. The whole staff seem to work as a team. I loved being in a restaurant that knows how to train their staff. It was a wonderful dinner and a very enjoyable evening
WOW! Campfire is an absolute gem! Excellent food & cocktails. Staff friendly & knowledgeable! Highly recommend.
Noise level was UNAcceptable High, they need baffles from ceiling to knock down horrible NOISE!
Service was great! Everyone was very welcoming. We got the bowls with fish, brisket, and bacon. The brisket was awful, but the other two proteins were delicious.
Amazing food and cozy interior
As always, very thoughtful dishes by the staff at Campfire. Especially impressive this time we’re the squid and the cavatelli. Consistently excellent work! Good service and beverage program. Wine list a bit shallow, but fits with restaurant theme.
Absolutely outstanding customer service with; great eye contact, knowledge regarding ingredients in the food and the drinks, very attentive with filling the water glasses, and the food is just outstanding! You really feel like you’re at home at the Campfire! The amazing amount of fresh, different real ingredients in the food is a dream for the pallet! Broccoli, roasted chicken, whole fish . . . Everything was just absolutely mouthwatering and overwhelming! we’ve come here 21 weeks in a row! This week will actually be 21!
The rice bowl is amazing. Great blend of fresh flavors.
Great concept amazing food I loved the sauce the salmon tartare was in Fun and very creative cocktails
We enjoy going here before we attend the theater down the street. We love to sit, chat, have a drink (or two!) and a yummy meal. It’s perfect! The wait staff is wonderfully attentive, but not overly so, and makes it so comfortable for us to take our time.
Frequently, we chat with people at the next table ——everyone is so friendly, but not intrusive!
This is a casual open air spot near the train station and the food was WONDERFUL! The portions of the wonderful food were just right for me. If you require large quantities just order an extra dish! The price is right and though I did not get a dessert (dessert with breakfast ??) they looked great and will get one next time..
Campfire will not disappoint. The food is outstanding and fresh. The menu is always changing and seasonal. Great to go with a group of friends. Reservations are highly recommended as this is a popular spot. Downtown Carlsbad is really cute and there is plenty to explore.
Broccoli, s’mores, and libations. I can’t say it I’ve had any better elsewhere.
The portions were small for the veggies for the price.
Sold food offerings, hipster-ish ambience if you like that sort of thing. We had a great time here.
We had high hopes and it was packed. But when you order smoked duck and you get a sausage instead it is a bit of a let down. Liver Pate appetitzer had too much smoke flavor that it over powered the Pate. It was fine but there are better places to eat for the price.
Had a great lunch on the patio on a beautiful sunny day. My friend had the "cheesesteak" sandwich and I had the tempura fish sandwich. Both were very good, but the cheesesteak was better. We also took advantage of Happy Hour and tried two wonderful drink/specials. One was similar to a spicy margarita and the other had gin and cinnamon and ginger lime.
I would have given Campfire 5 stars, but two items we wanted were not available during lunch service, so we were a bit disappointed: charred broccoli and s'mores.
Will definitely go back - next time for dinner.
Outstanding. So delicious. My only criticism is the folding chairs. I know the restaurant is camp themed but the chairs were not so comfortable.
Very loud acoustics in the back for lunch making it difficult to have a conversation. Kale salad wasn’t chopped to a comfortable eating size and kale ratio was too high to the other ingredients. Turkey sandwich bread over toasted making it difficult to eat. Fish sandwich came out greasy. Beet salad consisted of a single row of 4 small red beets cut in half and diced golden beets. Lunch Menu was a challenge to interpret salads and other items including sandwiches and bowls.
A bit pricey
The food was amazing and very fairly priced! I went during brunch time on a Saturday and the variety of food choices pleased my vegetarian and my omnivorous family members. I highly recommend this restaurant and plan to go there during the evening to check out the night scene the next time I head out!
This was our first time here for brunch.
We would not return for brunch.
Their dinner however is amazing.
So we will stick to that when dining here.
Best broccoli I’ve ever had. Pork chop was good but way too much for me to eat!
It was my fourth time there and again a home run. Not only is the food just amazing (I won't even try because its beyond description) but the waite staff is perfect and the pacing is impeccable. Normally when you eat in courses, there is lag time or overlap time - somehow everything magically came in perfect pacing - my husband and I agreed it was possibly the best meal we've enjoyed together.
Way too loud! Food was fine but not amazing, kind of a fun locale for the right event. Outside may be nice!
Was not overwhelmed by the food Service, less that good...That being said it was super crowded, so a lot of people clearly like it a lot. Reasonable prices...
Kaitlyn was an excellent server. The roasted beets was very good and the dick breast had wonderful flavor altho a little gristly.
Great time with fellow workers. The server food suggestions were spot on.
Loved the craft cocktail & our lunch entree was delicious.
Food and service was outstanding! We will be back real soon.
