Laughable portions. Unimaginative food. Spotty service. Should have believed the other reviewers. Won’t be back.
Great food and service with friendly atmosphere, perfect for a group of friends and family.
Overrated. The food was just ok for the prices. (Even keeping in mind that you don't tip the servers presumably because they are paid a living wage.)
Went for valentines eve. No special greeting or decor. Not a flower in the room. Cold atmosphere despite big nice chandeliers. Seats old church pews and chairs - uncomfortable. Simple bordering on austere. Flavors very light - more like perfumes. Grassy, fresh, slightly bitter. Portions small. Food ... good, but nothing spectacular. Service and experience hard edged. Drove from across town for a special evening with my husband. Fine, but disappointing. Would not bother going back.
Made the reservations for Valentine’s Day . The ambiance was great. The food was ok ... definitely wasn’t good enough to justify the price. The community style seating let us know that we weren’t alone in our feelings on the dining experience .
The food is excellent. The ambiance is very nice, though it can be a little loud. Service is very attentive when they're present, but don't expect to be smothered; it can be a while between visits if they're busy. Wine selection by the glass is very decent, and the cocktails are tasty.
Had the family together from LA & NY and we had a very nice Sunday Supper. Several orders of the Duck and whole Rock Cod. Could not have been nicer. Thank you all for your gracious hospitality. Hope to hit a Crab Monday soon. Brian
We ordered three of the appetizers, all the sides, two entrees, cocktails, and a bottle of wine. The food was well-prepared and the ingredients impeccable, with some interesting dishes that reflected the season beautifully. I found the "message" of the food disjointed, however, with elements clashing both within each dish and between them. But the service -- or lack of it -- really disrupted the experience, to the extent that the timing of the food coming to the table was off and parts of the dishes were cold.
I really appreciate Camino's no-tipping policy; I believe in paying all the staff a fair wage. But the staff seemed both untrained and uninterested in serving customers. We had looooooong waits for our drinks, our wine, and between courses (even though the restaurant was at most 2/3 full), with too much food coming at once. It was nearly impossible to flag our server down, and we had to notify other passing servers of our needs, which didn't feel right to me.
I would not return to Camino without assurance that the menu had been made more assertive and cohesive, and the service had improved -- a disappointment, if not on all counts.
The reason I did not give a better rating was due to the couples next to us. We sat at a long table with other people which I don't mind but the two gentlemen sitting across next to my husband were so loud that at the end of an hour and a half I had heard nothing but them all night.
The food was not that great for the price and the portions were too small.
Caminos is prompt in having the table available at the time of the reservation. It's amazing that they can do that in 15 minute increments.
I enjoyed the beet salad. The duck was delicious.
An enjoyable time
Top notch as always. Crab was all time.
My husband and I took an out-of-town friend to Camino for dinner. We really enjoyed the experience of eating there and loved the ambiance of the restaurant. However at the end of the meal, when we were thinking about favorite dishes, we realized that none of us thought any of the dishes really stood out. Overall, good experience, good concept, but less memorable food than I would have expected.
Amazing food, delicious cocktails. Quality and effort put into food is top notch!
Russell's food is always remarkable, in both ingredients and cooking; his simple is never simple.
Such delight! Love Camino. <3
Incomparable food, gorgeous dining room, heartfelt service. Worth every penny and more.
The January Monday crab night was incredible. I've never tasted crab that delicious in my life. The waitress was super attentive but not overwhelming, and the ambiance was lovely.
Really enjoyed our first trip here. Great appetizers, flat breads and wine list. Interesting cocktails. Superb service with no tipping policy.
was there for 2 hours and was only served 1 salad and 2 apps. Ordered the entire menu. No one ever came over to check on us!!! I chose Camino over many others for my birthday. Have been there many times. We were with friends. Will be a miracle if we ever go back. My husband spoke to owner/chef and he didn't even acknowledge him!!! Wow!!!
I've been to Camino before and was always pleased. This time the price did not match the specialness of the meal. It was $$ and the meal was good = ***.
Plus, there are only 3 entrees. They worked for us but it seems limited.
Everything was amazing. The food was incredible. Coworker gave me a gift card for christmas, and i was thinking i would have never thought to go in until she did, but im so glad we had the opportunity now. Such an amazing balance of flavors and incredibly fun decor without being tacky. Definetly recommending around to friends!
Despite our keen disappointment that weather prevented the crab fleet from delivering a long-anticipated Crabby Monday menu, we enjoyed our evening. Delicious and inventive cocktails, the quail and the persimmon cake were highlights. Atmosphere was relaxed and cozy on this Monday night.
Food was good. Service was great. Limited menu but changes often.
Delicious meal, flavorful cocktails and great service. Still prefer a private table to communal seating, but did not deter from the overall experience.
With a menu that small (3 entree choices) you really expect perfection in each dish, while the food was really good, it fell a little short. The whole rockfish was prepared really well and the presentation was great, the small plate of boiled potatoes it was served with was kind of sad.
Another small issue was the seating. We are not picky about seating at all and even sometimes enjoy getting a “different perspective” of the restaurant, but if you seat someone next to a computer terminal then servers should probably take the extra step to not bump or brush into the back of your seat (or head...) every time they use the machine.
Extremely noisy! At the end of the night, I felt my voice getting hoarse from having to shout across the table to talk to my dinner companion. However, for those duck lovers who missed Bay Wolf, this is your spot.
Camino is usually great, but this was an overpriced, undercooked and too-tiny meal. I don't know what is happening at Camino. We ordered plenty of food, but left hungry and grumpy about the meal. Our waiter was great, and we were able to stay at the table for longer than usual because they weren't full. Sadly, I am crossing it off my faves list.
Great for a date night or special occasion. Really delicious food and amazing cocktails. It seems a bit pricey but they pay their staff well & do not accept tips as a result. Do it for a nice night out!
We've eaten at Camino many times. The food is excellent and the restaurant is very attractive. The only criticism I have is that if you order a cocktail, it takes a really long time for it to be served. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all and yet we waited about 20 minutes for our cocktails after ordering them - there are other times where we've waited 30 minutes for them. The cocktails showed up at about the same time as our first course. It happens every time we eat there. It's not a big deal. The food is always really good and the restaurant is very attractive.
