Cameron's Steakhouse - Birmingham Ratings and Reviews
Not good, we have been there 25 times and loved it. Last night there was a birthday party in the back that was so loud we could not talk at our table. There was a guy at the bar watching a movie in his laptop that must have been hard of hearing as I could make out every word and I was 30 feet away. The the server tried to get me to sign up for the loyalty program and even gave me a brochure, really at a high end steak house. I can tell you this place will be closed within a year. Poor management, poor ownership and people are not frequenting the establishment.
The food is like a lot of the other reviews over cooked steak it was CHARRED. I asked for medium well and the waiter or cook must have thought I said well done which I didn’t I ordered the bone in filet and a lobster tail both were over cooked and hard to cut and chew and digest. I basically threw away $62 for the steak and $38 for a lobster tail how do you over cook a lobster tail that I had to saw or cut through with my steak knife. Go to outback better food and one can cut and chew and digest the food. Oh and the server was slow we asked for butter for a baked potato he showed up with the butter about 10 Mins later and we were almost done with the potatoe waste of money and time I will not get back. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and have always had great meals at Cameron's. This time it was just ok. The server was not very attentive, he pushed the tomahawk steak (my husband ordered) which was just ok and cost $89. I ordered a ribeye which is the only steak I ever order, it arrived looking like a strip steak and was tough and chewy. He told me that's what you get when you order a ribeye and then he came back again and said yes it does look like a strip steak but it's an end cut, he asked if I wanted another steak but it would take 35 minutes. I did not want to wait that long so I ate part of the tough steak and didn't make a big deal. We wish we would have spoke to a manager and they should have taken my steak off the bill. Very disappointed in Cameron's, I think it's time to find a new steak house.
Cameron's is our "go to" restaurant for special occasions and when we want to have a great meal. We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary and had the best dinner. We both love the lobster bites as an appetizer. We followed that with a Caesar salad, ribeye steaks, potatoes and broccoli. We couldn't eat everything so we were excited to have leftovers the next day!
As always, the service was impeccable too! Kevin was great and extremely attentive!
Steaks over cooked and charred
Served salads prior to appetizer - very rushed initially then very slow
Coarse grainy substance in broccoli- informed by waitress this was a prior complaint that eve- vegetables over cooked
The 'meat leftovers ' asked to take in doggie bag-literally for the dog ( tough meat), was 'thrown out'
Very disappointed for a $350 meal for 3.
Not returning, prior a fan, but after tonight, extremely disappointed.
We were celebrating our 41st anniversary and Cameron's was highly recommended by our nephew.
I had made a reservation on-line and noted it was our 41st anniversary. We were so happy with our experience! It was so memorable for us- Paul ( our server) was so wonderful to us.
The food was excellent. We were so delighted that happy 41st Anniversary was printed on our menu!!! Thank you for making our day so special-
We will definitely be back-
Had dinner with friends Saturday night. Service was very good (Alex was our server, she was very attentive. Salads were nice, excellent filet, delicious, tender and properly cooked. Shrimp scampi was nice, as well as chicken. All four sides were delicious, french fries, broccoli ,corn and mashed potatoes. Water was refilled often. Drink orders were taken promptly, and delivered quickly. They were out of creme brûlée , so were kind enough to give us fresh berries with whipped cream instead. We come here fairly often, have never had a bad meal. Recommended.
We celebrated the birthday of a relative. Nice, cozy place. Good food but nothing exceptional. We ordered 3 appetizers (heirloom tomatoes toast, mushrooms on a toast and peeper calamari) and all were ok. Then we had steaks, salmon and scallops. One of the stakes ordered medium rare plus (option suggested by our server) came very, very well done. It was replaced without problems. Everything was good but average for a restaurant that boasts fine cuisine. Side dishes recommended as feeding two people (family style) actually were small. We were 10 people, ordered 6 sides (3 different types: mushrooms, creamed spinach and mashed potatoes) and they were good but it wasn't enough to go around. Wines were good.
I would go back only for the atmosphere and if other places I know are booked.
