Cameron's Steakhouse - Birmingham Ratings and Reviews
I found a last minute reservation on Open Table for NYE dinner!
It was great food, good service and the the manager was very friendly and checked on us to see how were we doing! We received and used a generous gift card for the Holidays. Very high priced place so not sure how often we would come here.
Camerons is a good restaurant but not great. I had a reservation but we chose to eat at the bar. The service was good but not at the level of professionalism of other steak houses. I would probably head to one of the other steak houses before returning to Camerons.
It was very cold outside.. they sat us by a table that had cold air coming from vent in the ceiling.. i had to put my winter hat on... then we couldn’t stand it no more so we got moved... to the table next to ours..
with what seemed to be a knowledgeable staff idk why they don’t know the layout of there building and the faults bc then after we got moved they sat some else in the same table we where at. And complain about the same thing we did. Take a hint and use common sense why do my customers keep moving from this table.. the resturant wasn’t busy so there where options to be sat at...
While our waitress was great the food was good but way overpriced. The lava cake is prepared in the morning and microwaved. After 2 attempts to get it warm they gave up and gave us a slice of cake. Average. Too many options in this segment to be average and overpriced.
Christmas Day dining. Food was tasty. 2 of our party do not eat meat & scallops were good. Corn side & jalapeño scalloped potatoes were yummy. Also enjoyed the Cameron salad.
Booth was a bit tight, felt too small at first, but got used to it.
It got chilly when people came & went, regardless of the double doors. Restroom was quite chilly as well. They need to pipe some heat in there. Reminded me of English countryside loos.
Service was excellent. We all enjoyed our meals.
We haven't been to Cameron's in a while... glad to see that the quality still stands to the occasion... so many steakhouses in the area have really fallen down. It is really one of the prettiest restaurants around. The food was spectacular... I'm sure we scraped the side plates clean. We will be back sooner than later... a good reminder that there are great restaurants left in Birmingham.
Tables turned around us twice before we received our dinner. We were told it was a mix up in the kitchen. We saw the other tables complain of lack of service or food being delivered late. Once my meal came out, it was raw. Sent it back and it was over cooked. We left and ordered room service.
Food was not prepared to desired temperature When food was taken back to kitchen it was returned burnt and dry. The creme Brule was the worst I have ever tasted.
I spent $130 and was very disappointed. My husband lost his appetite after receiving a pink pork chop and did not eat his food. The manager's attitude was indifferent. I fine dine out at least 4 times a week. I wanted to try a new restaurant and was not impressed. I wish that I spent my Thanksgiving Day meal at another location.
Not good, we have been there 25 times and loved it. Last night there was a birthday party in the back that was so loud we could not talk at our table. There was a guy at the bar watching a movie in his laptop that must have been hard of hearing as I could make out every word and I was 30 feet away. The the server tried to get me to sign up for the loyalty program and even gave me a brochure, really at a high end steak house. I can tell you this place will be closed within a year. Poor management, poor ownership and people are not frequenting the establishment.
The food is like a lot of the other reviews over cooked steak it was CHARRED. I asked for medium well and the waiter or cook must have thought I said well done which I didn’t I ordered the bone in filet and a lobster tail both were over cooked and hard to cut and chew and digest. I basically threw away $62 for the steak and $38 for a lobster tail how do you over cook a lobster tail that I had to saw or cut through with my steak knife. Go to outback better food and one can cut and chew and digest the food. Oh and the server was slow we asked for butter for a baked potato he showed up with the butter about 10 Mins later and we were almost done with the potatoe waste of money and time I will not get back. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and have always had great meals at Cameron's. This time it was just ok. The server was not very attentive, he pushed the tomahawk steak (my husband ordered) which was just ok and cost $89. I ordered a ribeye which is the only steak I ever order, it arrived looking like a strip steak and was tough and chewy. He told me that's what you get when you order a ribeye and then he came back again and said yes it does look like a strip steak but it's an end cut, he asked if I wanted another steak but it would take 35 minutes. I did not want to wait that long so I ate part of the tough steak and didn't make a big deal. We wish we would have spoke to a manager and they should have taken my steak off the bill. Very disappointed in Cameron's, I think it's time to find a new steak house.
Cameron's is our "go to" restaurant for special occasions and when we want to have a great meal. We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary and had the best dinner. We both love the lobster bites as an appetizer. We followed that with a Caesar salad, ribeye steaks, potatoes and broccoli. We couldn't eat everything so we were excited to have leftovers the next day!
As always, the service was impeccable too! Kevin was great and extremely attentive!
Steaks over cooked and charred
Served salads prior to appetizer - very rushed initially then very slow
Coarse grainy substance in broccoli- informed by waitress this was a prior complaint that eve- vegetables over cooked
The 'meat leftovers ' asked to take in doggie bag-literally for the dog ( tough meat), was 'thrown out'
Very disappointed for a $350 meal for 3.
Not returning, prior a fan, but after tonight, extremely disappointed.
