Greek
Calissa is Mykonos in the Hamptons. Our menu focuses on seafood and Greek dishes such salt baked fish and lobster spaghetti. Our wine list received The Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator and offers over 300 selections.

We also offer private dining spaces for groups from 10 to 300 people. To plan your next wedding, corporate event or rehearsal dinner, email emily@calissahamptons.com.

Our sister restaurants in New York are Amali, Periyali, Il Cantinori, The Bar Room and Bar Six.

Calissa is in Watermill and is located within 15 minutes of Bridgehampton, Southampton, and Sag Harbor.

Join us Wednesdays for burger night, Thursdays for $1 oysters and champagne, Fridays for greek night and Saturdays for live music.

For parties of 8 and more, we offer a prix-fixe menu consisting of your choice of 3 appetizers, 3 entrees and 3 sides selected from our a la carte menu.

Great food, loud restaurant but the food makes it worth it. Wine list was a bit overpriced as the markup seemed to be over 200% on some bottles.

ONE OF THE WORST EATING EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER HAD
THEY SERVED A FISH AND NEVER TOLD US IT WAS $140
They presented it to us then took 20 minutes to filet it and it came back cold

We were excited about trying this place during our labor day weekend in The Hamptons. We had an early reservation, so the restaurant was almos empty and quiet- which was nice. We were seated in the back (nice out door area) and ordered Greek salad and octupus. Both were good. We then ordered the whole "sea bass." What a surprise when the whole fish was brought to the table! It was clearly not a sea bass but some sort of river fish with thick scales and really smelly. We asked the server to clarify the type of fish and he said it was "sea bass." IT WAS NOT! The server started explanning how it was from different water and that was the reason it looked and tested different. We said fine, let's give it a try. It was horrible! It tasted muddy and super fishy, and what's worst; it was undercooked. You could see blood in the guts and the bones wouldn't even come apart from the meat. The server never came and asked if everything was okay. NOT ONCE! It was evident we weren't enjoying our food but noneone care to notice. We were still hungry and ordered bread and limes for our water but never got anything.
I don't like writing negative reviews about restaurants, but the fish was horrible and the server was just inattentive. Other than that, the restaurant looks really nice inside, the people at the front were friendly and the wine selection is good.

I was the gentlemen at the front that weekend (thank you). I certainly am always sad when a guest has a poor experience. While I do not remember a guest bringing this issue to our attention, I can say that the James Beard Smart Catch Program and Slow Food Society audit our purchasing as part of our certifications. That does not mean we cannot miss the mark (for example undercook a fish) but I can say that we do not try to pass off one fish as something else.

Wonderful dinner at calissa. Delicious food. Inventive and fresh menu. This is the best restaurant in the hamptons. The service is impeccable. Staff does not have an attitude and treats you so well. Portions are abundant. I can’t wait to return!

One of the best dinners in the Hamptons all summer. Warm and inviting service, plus great wines and the freshest fish. What an enjoyable and delicious dinner, loved everything!!

Calissa pales in comparison to its NYC sister restaurant. The octopus appetizer was primarily a salad. Three in our group of four ordered the $130 lobster w pasta that supposedly serves three and features a 3 pound lobster. There’s lots of OK pasta but not enough lobster. Unfortunately, only the meat from the tail was served out of the shell. The claws were served w the meat in the shell. The same dish at another local restaurant with a 1 1/2 pound lobster for $45 is far superior both in term of taste and amount of lobster serving one person. The fried calamari, fluke crude and pita with dip were excellent. Drinks at the bar are highly enjoyable. Overall, the disappointments will keep me away from what may be a better restaurant than I experienced.

As the partner of both restaurants, I am sincerely sorry this experience fell short. We do monitor 3 lb. lobster prices to ensure we are slightly below market. Some guests like to crack the claw (some don't). Maybe our comprise should be mindful of Aesop's fable of the donkey. The cook needs to be mindful to prepare the pasta in the right amount our lobster stock - I am fairly confident this did not happen here. Never even got to sit down waited and waited and the host kept smiling and not saying a word... so we left and went to il mulino.

I feel badly that this happened - I know it was not wildly past the time of the reservation but seating was delayed that evening. Thank you for the kind words about us and out food - I do agree that there is a part o the restaurant with low ceilings that can lead to challenging acoustics. We were quite late to our reservation, yet the host expertly accommodated us, giving each of us a free glass of champagne at the bar while he figured everything out (which was so kind considering it was our fault we were late). We then had great meals and a lovely time in the beautiful ambiance of the restaurant. Thanks, Calissa!

Honestly, I don't think I've ever had such poor service at a restaurant. From the very beginning our server "couldn't be bothered" by us - he was impatient and curt. As the meal progressed it got even more uncomfortable in the way he spoke to us. We cut our meal short because it was so blatant and unsettling. So I honestly can't vouch for the food because we only had a mezze platter and a few salads. I had just been at an event hosted by a colleague was planning to get a thank you gift for him in the form of a gift card from this restaurant, but after that experience I wouldn't bother. I'd also discourage others from visiting this restaurant.

My sincere apologies. I wish I was aware of the issue that evening. What I can say after the fact is that there was a male server who was dismissed from their employment mid evening because we discovered he was, well, inebriated. While this rarely happens, it is not uncommon whether a tiny bistro or 3 star Michelin restaurant. I suspect he was your server. It does not make the experience acceptable, but I hope it may explain what happened. I am sending a private email with additional credit.

the worst service in the hamptons! The food is not bad but the prices are very high.

I am sorry the experience did not meet your or our expectations. I don't know what happened that would make it the worst service but I wish I had heard what happened that evening. We do constantly check our prices agains tother venues to make sure we are comparable or less when taking into account the portion size. Either way, should you choose to join us again (I hope you would) I would extend a credit and hope that the way someone handles a mistake is better than the mistake itself.

Extremely overpriced for what is offered. Eggplant salad was mush and in no way authentic. Lobster pasta for two was over cooked. Lobster was hard as a rock and bucatini were over cooked. Lacking in flavour as well. Not what you’d expect for a $130 dish.

Space is beautiful indoors and out but food was very disappointing.

I am sorry the lobster pasta did not meet your or our expectations. If we were aware of your disappointment, I hope we credited the amount (I can certainly do so now). Either way, should you choose to join us again (I hope you would) I would extend a $150 credit and you can make the reservation by emailing me. Even the best restaurant can have an off night, and I hope the way we address a mistake speaks better of us than the mistake itself (to paraphrase Danny Meyer).

I eat a lot of Greek food and thought the food here was ok, but the value poor. Appetizer portions were tiny, considering the pricing. Our salad was uninteresting- basically arugula with dressing. The place was empty on a Weds night in August— perhaps others have caught on. A shame, as the ambiance is appealing and Greek food is a good fit with the Hamptons’ beachy vibe.

I am sorry you had a below par experience. I must (very softly) push back on one matter. We routinely compare our price/portion size with full service restaurants in the area and are confident that our portion size is above average. That does not mean, however, that we did not (or could not) have made a mistake with your table. I will email you privately with a credit. We had a 9 pm reservation. We sat down at 930. And by 1015 no one had come for even drinks water. We left at 1015 without eating

Crowded overpriced hot room cold food. Hostess was rude. Our waiter was a very nice guy and tried to be accommodating but... food was fair at best, food and drink delivery took forever, menu sucked. Not a great night.

I remember this evening as the hottest day of the year. As an al fresco restaurant, it was difficult to keep guests comfortable and that sometimes exacerbated even small issues over the evening. I wish the night had gone better for everyone, including yourself, but most of our guests were understanding and empathetic to the heat wave. Combined with some of the nomenclature in the review it means a constructive dialogue is unlikely but I still wish it had gone differently for both of us.

They were out of two dishes at 7:30. No dessert menu. Horrible!!!!

I am sorry if we had run out of two items - instead of a menu we offer complimentary dessert as it is custom in many greek restaurants. We find this to be a hospitable gesture. I am sorry you disagree/were upset by this decision but we will respectfully (and gently insist) to keep to this tradition in the future.

IT WAS THE TRIFECTA OF BAD RESTAURANTS. BAD SERVICE, FOOD AND DIRTY.
The restaurant was empty on a Monday night and the hostess actually said "wait here" - are you kidding me? They sat us inside - there was NO AIR CONDITIONING! During the NY heat wave. Then they sat us outside which was filthy. My friend was wearing white pants and used a napkin so she wouldn't dirty her pants. The service - THERE WAS NO SERVICE!!! Did I tell you there were more staff than patrons?.. and still no water refill - NOTHING. NO SERVICE AT ALL. The octopus was okay - the olives looked liked raisins, the tomatoes in the salad were OLD and we had to send it back and get FRESH tomatoes (which they had but served us yucky mushy ones) , the daily special fish was EXORBITANTLY priced and fair at best. NOTHING redeeming about this place. It looked pretty online and we were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.

Great Hamptons restaurant, charming Hamptons ambience, excellent seafood, and good service.
Cons were a slight septic smell in the bar, accompanied with bar drinks at $20, and a very cranky bartender.

$87.50 for a whole grilled fish? And that was after I disputed a mysterious $50.00 charge on the bill. Im accustomed to expensive dinners but this was unwarranted and excessive. The service was sloppy and borderline rude.

We had a relatively early 6:30 reservation before crowd arrived and sat outside at a large table. Pleasant evening that was not hot and had a slight breeze. No insects. Regular menu is moderate to high. They recommend two sides on the ala carte menu which are $12-14 each. There is a Prix Fixe menu for $26 before 7 pm which is a good deal but we had to ask for that menu.

Food is tasty, decor is tasteful, and atmosphere is fun and vibrant. Wine recommendation was excellent, and service was attentive. Good way to celebrate or launch a night on the town in an otherwise sedate neighborhood.

I do remember our discussion about the pre-fix and while I am still at a loss to how to explain it any better than I did that evening, I am sorry that it came across as stilted or confusing. While I believe that 65 for family style service of 3 appetizers, 3 entrees and 3 sides is a reasonable price based on our experience with other customers, I am sorry it left a poor taste in your mouth. Excellent and fresh food, wonderful service. However, fish day boat special was 4.5 pound fish, which they should have allowed reducing into smaller portions.

Thank you for your kind words. I agree that a 4.5 fish does limit some of our diners from being able to order a whole fish. Sometimes the dock to dish program sends large fish (as it is a coop program) and if we do not communicate that clearly, it can leave a confusing/negative impression.
