The food here was really good. The music was amazing… they had a Vicente playlist going. I noticed they had a ton of bottles of Fortaleza tequila on the wall. If you’re looking for that tequila… this is the place to go.

We were visiting from out of town and thought we would try California Tacos Cantina & Distillery - Buellton. Great decision! The food was the best we have had and the staff and atmosphere were welcoming and positive. Highly recommended.

My hotel was right across the street from this restaurant so I decided to try it. What a nice surprise. They had the baseball game going on. I was seated at a great table to view the game. I ordered the fajitas with shrimp, filet mignon and chicken. I couldn’t believe the amount of food that they sent to me. It was enough for three people, but if you know me, I had no problem polishing it off. Everything on it was perfect. It was such a great meal. The chicken was moist. The steak was tender, and the shrimp was perfectly grilled. The guacamole was handmade. The beans had a ton of cheese on them and the rice and vegetables were cooked to perfection. When I go back up to Wine country, this will be a do again. The restaurant didn’t even know they had open table program set up and I asked them to check on it and they didn’t know what to check on till I showed him the app and how to do it then they realized I had my reservation there and they said they clicked on it so hopefully I got my points for it. But they’re excited to see they’re on that program. I advised them it was set up for better end restaurants and that’s what I like to visit. So now they know they’re in the upper echelon for Mexican food.

Food was amazing. Fajitas also fantastic. Homemade corn tortillas just like grandma’s. This has become one of my favorite restaurants.

We were really looking forward to having great Mexican food in Southern California and despite the ratings, this was not on par with what we were expecting it was also Cinco de Mayo and it was not busy at all, and we were somewhat surprised because they seem to have a really great bar area
