   This was my first experience eating at California Pizza Kitchen. I was looking forward to the meal-the menu looked wonderful. However, the food was horrible. My daughter had pasta and had to send it back. I had a salad that was absolutely tasteless, and my mother had a garlic chicken pizza-she would have needed a microscope to find the chicken. It was very crowded and extremely noisy which I could have forgiven if the food had been good. I do not give bad reviews very often but feel I need to be honest. The priority seating worked out fine as we were seated in a reasonable amount of time.

   After we were seated everything went smoothly. However, we made a reservation for 1:15 pm on Sunday August 19. We arrived on time and checked in with hostess. She said she was clearing a few tables and we would be seated next. Well, she seated about 4 parties before us. Then two other parties walked in and were seated immediately. They were parties of two like us. Finally we were seated after we asked her what happened to our reservation. She just said this is how it is done. We have visited here before and come quite often. We felt this was not in the true CPK tradition.

   We split a great Sicilian pizza, and the service was pretty good. However, their 3oz martinis were $8.99 each! Very overpriced!!

   The food is innovative and tasty. Interesting menu and lots of choices that are different from other restaurants in the area. A good addition to Sarasota!

   We love the food and the service is always great. We wish that there would be an area that was quiet enough to visit with friends and to hear what they are saying. Maybe one area could be set off for people would like to visit and enjoy their meal in a more reserved environment.

    This is the third time I've been to the restaurant and based on the first two times I recommended it to our ladies group. There were six of us but I was disappointed in several things....one customer asked for a pizza and they gave it to her as a sandwich so she had to wait for it to be prepared the way she wanted it; another customer asked for 5 cheese pizza and only barely tasted any cheese plus it was cool so it had to go back to be reheated; another customer started eating what she thought was a hot meal of pasta and shrimp until she tasted the shrimp that were cold. So while all of this was going on exchanging plates to get what they wanted the rest of us wanted to wait for all of us to eat together but then didn't want ours to get cold in the meantime. I was disappointed that I recommended this restaurant for our ladies get-together. Place wasn't even busy so I don't know why the kitchen wasn't with it that night. Waitress wasn't as accommodating as I would have thought she'd be with all of this mix up.
