Food was delicious, staff were friendly, but food took over an hour to come out once ordered (group of 9) and kind of hard to get a drink in between. A few more service staff would do the trick, otherwise great.
Food takes a while to come out but worth the wait. Probably the best mexican I have had in Brisbane.
I had googled "Best Fish Taco's Brisbane" and it came up with California Native and they didn't dissapoint. The waitress was pleasant and attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed our date night....will go again to work our way through the menu.

Food took an hour to come out and we were not told of any wait time. Once it was at our table it had no flavour was super disappointing for the price we paid.

Love the fajitas and enchiladas, they never fail to please! And can never finish a whole plate. Love it!!
The service was very slow, the starter was tiny and the nachos were dry.

We had the best Mexican meal I think ever! The nachos weren't greasy or dripping in cheese, they were tasty and crunchy with guac and salsa on the side. Frijoles with steak were amazing. We had the fish tacos for entree and could really also go these as a main if they were up sized although the menu for mains has great choices, highly recommend for a great night out 5⭐️
Love this local restaurant. It's open air so great in the warm weather, inside, and outside in the courtyard. In the cooler months, inside can be fresh if you're seated near the door. The music was a bit loud in one part of the restaurant but the wait staff was able to - and happy to - move us out of the line of the speaker with no fuss or bother. They also have some interesting looking cactii in their pots.

Best Mexican food in Brisbane. Great Margaritas. Best fish tacos, brilliant chicken, etc. The staff are really nice too. This is seriously good food, highly recommended.

Great place to go for dinner with friends. Casual dining with great music playing. We went when it opened with our young kids and had a great time.

Unfortunately we had a night there was an outside function. However the food was awesome and they helped accomodate young children.
Beautiful restaurant. Lovely ambience, clean and friendly staff. Limited menu. Food was of good quality, but it was expensive. Would be nice for a glass of wine to catch up with friends, but for value for money, I'm eating elsewhere
We have been to California Native 5 or 6 times lately and each time the service was friendly and excellent. The food was quickly ready and satisfying. Water is served automatically and alcohol is available. The music and layout is pleasant and tables are not squashed together. Mostly we have gone in the evening and the ambiance is warm and there is a cultural flavour from California. There is a choice of inside or outside.
Absolute fantastic little spot a favorite and the owners were so lovely.
We will definitely be going back.

I do like this restaurant because the ambience is relaxed, the food is good and the serving size is great. But the service is terrible. It is excruciating to get a drink or order food. If the restaurant chooses to not put bottles of water on the table, you need to fill guests glasses when nearing empty. Food comes without cutlery. Serviertes are a rare commodity you have to beg for. The bill will never come, so take yourself to the front counter. I will keep going there because location is good, food is good, ambience is great but service is woeful... sorry... I am one of your fans and I want you to make it, so need to tell you, so I can keep coming to your restaurant.

Had my birthday on the weekend, and what a night! Delicious food and lovely staff. We all enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Great atmosphere and fantastic food - full-flavoured, fresh and authentic. They've added to the menu, the Mojave Chicken is a winner. Always coming back for the Margaritas, too.
It was a family catch up and there were 5 of us including our 3yo toddler. We sat outside as it seems like it was going to be a nice cool night. Once we arrived we were greeted with a smile. Service was great and the food was even better than we thought. The only downside with being outside was we were getting bitten my the moisquitos, otherwise we would have stayed longer. Thank you for your outstanding catering and friendly service. Will definitely come back!
We have been three times. I enjoyed the food and the service was friendly and efficient. I prefer indoors at least in summer. The music is pleasant and not overwhelming the conversation.
