The atmosphere was elegant. The view was amazing! Went to dinner just before sunset... stunning.
Anniversary meal...very special.
Stayed at the Hyatt for an overnight on our anniversary. The view was spectacular but the dining experience left a lot to be desired. We read the attire is “Resort Casual “ so dressed appropriately. We were surprised to see that they allowed tennis shoes, jeans, sweatshirts and etc. then our salads came out before the appetizer and then our dinner arrived before we had even finished that. The waiter told us there is a new chef and he was just pushing everything out. Then to top it off, we had to try a talk over the screaming kids that used the restaurant as their play ground.
Not the night we were looking for.
Anniversary dinner. Great view.
The view was awesome...we had the #1 table in the corner of the restaurant with an unbelievable view...my wife and I were dining with my son and his friend...it was quiet and were able to talk and take beautiful photos of the sunset...for was great...overall, the dining highlight of our trip to Carmel!
Great dining experience! Food was phenomenal. Outstanding service and the view was spectacular.
Top ratings for th view alone. Sweeping views from the cliff of the ocean, so you feel like you are on a boat. Great Food but on the pricey side. It's inside a hotel so you figure the price is for resort quality and for scenic view.
The food was amazing! Simply divine. The restaurant is gorgeous. Bus person, super friendly and pretty much the friendliest person working.
Our server and hostess were having off days, but that happens. We’d definitely try it again.
Amazing food with an even more AMAZING view!!!
I went with four others, and all but one of us had the plant-based tasting menu. Every course was delicious, vibrant and filling. The wine pairings were great too. I hope the plant-based tasting will not be discontinued as I was told when leaving the restaurant but a not-so-tactful staff person. It would be a disservice to our community to move the tasting menu to meat-based, as there are PLENTY of restaurants in the area who cater to carnivores.
Gorgeous view with great food and service. CoD was very fresh and short ribs were very tender and delicious!
The view and our table to watch the sunset was excellent. The noise level was a little high primarily from the bar area. Our food was a little dry and ou waiter although very friendly was not very attentive.
We heard they had combined the more casual California Market restaurant with the previously more upscale restaurant (Pacific's Edge) so we expected a somewhat reasonably or mid-range-priced bistro type menu. Instead we were presented with entrees in the $45 range with strangely-described ingredients. (What exactly is piquillo pepper emulsion?)
It was a special occasion so we figured it was fine to splurge. But the meals we were served lacked in flavor, temperature, portion size and overall inspiration. There is no reason potato puree should be cold when served! Beer battered artichokes should be piping hot! I'm not sure if our server was spread too thin that night but she forgot all about my $15 margarita I ordered between courses until I was more than halfway through my entree. No apology, Just a "whoops I forgot your margarita" ...and in good faith a restaurant with higher service standards may have even comped the drink. We wanted to order cookies to take back to the room (we had seen them on the room service menu) but our server told us she couldn't access anything from the room service menu and that we would have to order it through room service. (Which is another story---room service took the order then called back later and said they really didn't have cookies after all. Not the end of the world but just really not impressed with the overall experience.)
It is a beautiful view from the restaurant and the bar is also cozy with a big fire roaring and pretty lighting. Next time we may just hit happy hour and go elsewhere if we want a good meal.
Too pricey! $50 average for a meal is excessive. Prices should have averaged upper 30’s. Rocky point is just as good and more reasonable.
This restaurant offers unparalleled ambience combined with excellent food. Always memorable!
Wonderful! Wish they had the guac and service was a little slow...
Always fantastic! Diana always comes through with a window table so that my wife and I can catch the sunset. Great food. new (to us) menu was just right. Worth the trip from walnut Creek for sure.
View was awesome and outdoor dining area quite nice except for the flies. They were horrible and totally made the meal not enjoyable. Food is over priced and underwhelming but we go for the view.
Requested and was confirmed window seat, unfortunately that did not happen. Did not know getting a refill on my water would be a challenge. Having to ask multiple individuals was a bit frustrating. My mistake for not ordering wine.
Great spot, nice menu with good options at a great price point. Spectacular views!!
Food was outstanding (short ribs).
Service was very good , thanks to the waiters back-up crew.
Almost no interaction with the waiter - he was semi-pleasant, although insincere.
He never returned to ask about coffee re-fills.....or, anything. Am used to at least
SOME interpersonal dialogue with waiter.
If you're going for breakfast, try the Point Lobos Benedict - fantastic! And, bloody mary's are only ten bucks! Ask for a corner table and see if you can catch a whale or just find your peace taking in the waves and spectacular views.
If you're going for dinner, the entree selections are exceptional. Ask about the homemade pasta for the day!
The service is always good and the servers are friendly.
anniversary. acknowledged by staff and brought lvely dessert.
The view from Pacific's Edge is absolutely spectacular and the restaurant is quite elegant. The combination creates a romantic ambience. Entrees are very expensive. Service is elegant and attentive.
The view is worth the trip. Nice wine list. Hidden hotel gem. Tuna app is great, skip the ceviche
The food was decent. Our major complaint was the complete lack of service. Waited a bit for our server, he took our order and never came back. Walked back and forth several times, never checked on us or our food. We had to ask for the dessert menu and someone else brought it. Our server finally came when I had my purse in my hand and we were ready to go.
The floor manager walked past our table and a couple other tables, never spoke to us. Even when we were leaving the floor manager was talking to the hostess, as we passed she said good night and he said nothing.
From what we could tell they were low on wait staff, however, not that difficult to check on your customer if all you are doing is taking and submitting an order.
Having said that, our breakfast the next morning was delicious and our server was prompt and efficient.
View is incredible!
The location and views were amazing. Have gone for lunch before and thought it was tasty menu and reasonable pricing. Just went the first time for dinner and felt that the food was just average for the cost of it. Food was nicely presented but lacked the high end taste for the high end prices. Service was fair - our waitress forgot one of our cocktails and forgot that one coffee should have been decaf. So, dinner service/food, this time, wasn't up to expectations.
Wonderful new dining area. Great food and excellent service.
I love the place, especially the view and the ambiance. It’s my new place to take friends who come to visit from out of town.
We sat on the outdoor patio in January and it was warm with a beautiful view. We had an amazing server, delicious food, and saw multiple whales cruising past us on their way south.
We didn't want to leave....ever!
The best ocean view in Carmel area. Quiet, good for small parties. Good food on Sunday branch.
We both ordered the plant based tasting menu. So thrilled to have a fine dining prix fixe vegan option in town finally! All 4 courses were fantastic. Best preparation of brussel sprouts we've ever had. We look forward to try every season's menu.
The loud music from the lounge drowned out the jazz music in the restaurant. This may be due to the location of our table.
Our hostess was obviously overworked. So not much attention to our table.
We ordered Dry Aged Ribeye .... not inexpensive ..... it was tasteless.
Love this place. Gorgeous view. Fine dining. Best omelette in town.
Beautiful setting. Great place to end the afternoon with a drink and dinner. Food was very good and our server was great.
Bad day at California Market. Staff was totally overwhelmed for lunch on New Year’s Day which was surprising being that they were only seating guests with reservations. It took an hour after being seated to finally get our food which was not at all worth the wait. Sad to see what has become of a once outstanding restaurant, you can only cut costs so much before things fall apart.
Delicious luncheon for New Year's Day!
The food was over-priced and uninspired. I realize it was New Year's Eve but usually the increase in price is accompanied by an increase in quality.
This restaurant was once fabulous so my expectations may have been too high. There is no longer a wine expert - sommelier. Some servers try to help but are uninformed. Food is not exceptional and prices are high for "holiday" dinners. There are too many wonder restaurants near to warrant eating a festive dinner here.
The view is second to none! We went for New Year's eve brunch, and we enjoyed it. The food wasn't fantastic, but it was good enough considering the beautiful panoramic scene. The staff was attentive enough. Our french toast came out cold, so they took it in the back and reheated it. They forgot to dress it appropriately when it came back out. When we ordered we asked for them to hold the pecans, but when it came back out there were plenty of pecans and no berries. I think you are paying for the view and the ambiance, and sometimes that's ok. We will be back!
Super great dinner - had the special pasta of the night. It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time and I live in SF! Server was awesome at picking out the right wine for oysters and pasta / short ribs. I would definitely go back!
