Inattentive and thoughtless waiters. Husband felt like he almost had to get up and serve himself. For what was expected - fell far below - main entrees were lukewarm and beverage service was inexplicably uninformed (a splash of cream turned into a drink that was more cream than anything else) or nonexistent (no water refills?) for the most part.
We skipped dessert as it seemed unlikely to be worth the incredibly long wait between seeing a waiter in the distance and getting someone or something done at our table
A gorgeous view of paradise from the dining room. The only detraction (in my view) was I would have preferred more Hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict. But other than that the brunch was great. And they make the best bloody Marys on the Monterey peninsula.
Highly recommended, but not for walking handicapped as the surrounding parking area is very hilly and very steep.
Chef Chris's lamb was better than great. The duck to die for. The dessert was tremendous. Sorbet was so refreshing while the carrott cake almost brought me to a sugar coma, l.o.a. This isn't diet food, just fabulous food. Thanks Chef Chris. 😊 David S.
View fantastic, food excellent... the service was unremarkable.
Will not return.
One of our favorites in the area. Very fresh seafood expertly prepared and presented. Love the octopus starter, the surf and turf and the scallops this trip.
Wonderful food, views and service!
Thank you to Keith for suggesting we reserve an early sitting so we could catch the sunset! WOW! The entire dining room was captivated by the view. Thank you to our server, Chris, for being attentive and friendly. Loved the plant-based wine-paired 4-course tasting menu (please add an index card so we can appreciate and remember as we enjoy! :)
We were a bit skeptical as we hadn’t been in nearly 20 years and it is a hotel restaurant! The food and service were great and the views are spectacular. The pacing wasn’t perfect and our server who was very good disappeared for stretches that were just a bit too long. I would highly recommend a visit at or near sunset. Great experience!
We almost always celebrate special events at California Market as we know everything will be perfect. We’ve been so often it feels like we are home, but in a spectacular setting with staff that caters to our every whim with a smile.
We recently dined here as we stayed next door at the Tickled Pink Inn and it was an easy walk after a long day of driving. The views are spectacular, if you can get a front window table (we were on the side window), it would be perfect. We shared the Brussel sprouts and my husband chose the sablefish (which they did not have and substituted halibut), it was prepared perfectly. I had the lamb roasted with pistachios, with polenta and tomatoes, also very good. The downside was the service. Started off ok (although long wait for our cocktails), but then it seemed he pretty much forgot about us as other parties came in. We waited 15 minutes for our table to be cleared after dinner and then another 15 minutes while he chatted with a party of men (regulars?) behind us. Finally the manager came through and we asked for our check and he appeared immediately. I would also say that the prices are quite high (i.e. $50 for lamb, $47 for scallops). Again, the food was very good and beautiful setting for sunset but they need to improve the service.
Amazing dinner and experience! We enjoyed the steak and lamb. Everything was fantastic, but the star of the meal were the incredible Brussel sprouts!!! We LOVED them! Also, out server Allison was amazing and the Chef, Chris, came out to talk to us. A truly wonderful experience. Cannot wait to return.
Outstanding view from many tables. Great patio with also crazy good view. Service very attentive and non intrusive. Reduced weekend lunch menu but with great quality and flavor.
Excellent lobster risotto. Loved the salads as well. Sunset views are amazing.
The view is beyond incredible, the service and food were very good!
The food is good, but the view is spectacular!
Celebrating my mothers birthday with close friends. She passed away the end of last year but always loved coming here for lunch. The same delightful 2 servers were there as they have been for years. I brought a cardboard cutout of my mom with me so she was able to join us at the table. The server recognized her from the photo immediately and at the end of lunch brought her a bday dessert 🎉🥳. A lovely day & experience.
Fantastic dining experience for a birthday celebration. Dinner was decadent - perfectly balanced and beautifully prepared. Will be back again.
Didn't acknowledge BDAY or bring small cake I had requested on the reservation
The view of course is stunning, especially at sunset. The bar was a bit slow, dinner service much better but I feel the place could add a few more staff. The food was excellent.
Decor a little tired but view to die for
We sat at a table with a beautiful view for the sunset.
Went downhill from there...service extremely slow, non attentive. Food was ok, tries too hard, expensive.
I wanted to like this place after reading mixed reviews..disappointed.
We had our wedding dinner here. Spectacular sunset was a real bonus
It was my third time at Pacific's Edge. I love the place. Great hostess, very nice. Very good service. Great food. Will definitely come back.
The venue was good if you received a table that had a view. The hostess was abrupt (you remember how they made you feel; we felt really poorly and wish we had not gone). Food however was good. Unable to provide us with an improved table that had some view although the tables were open. “It will take some time to find a different table.” Three tables were open in front of us. There was also a draft from the air conditioning made to sitting vaguely unpleasant.
What a great spot to eat in Carmel!!! Amazing views of the sunset, great food and very friendly accommodating staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening dinner and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Carmel looking for a great spot to eat!!
The view was memorable. We have come here for brunch on 2 separate occasions 3 months apart. On both occasions, the food arrived either only lukewarm or cold. Food quality and plating can be improved.
love going to the CA market for lunch....especially on a clear, warm day.
food and service was great as always.
We celebrated our engagement at Market at Pacific Edge. Staff were extremely nice, got us a nice table, put a nice flower on our table. Service was very good. Extremely satisfied and will go back. Breathtaking ocean view sunset.
Fantastic views, sunset, food, and drinks!
This has been one of our all time favorite restaurants in the past. This visit was not up to expectations. It took a half hour to get our first drink, martinis, and then had to send them back because they tasted like a mix. Food was nothing special.
This was our anniversary dinner. Ambience & location were wonderful but whole evening was ruined by really terrible service. At the end the manager wanted to “make it up to us” but we just wanted to leave. The waiter was the worst.
We have dined here for many years but never again. This restaurant has gone downhill. Not worth it & many better choices in Carmel. Don’t bother...
Astonishing view of Point Lobos and surroundings.
Impeccable service by Frederic.
A first class dining experience.
Try the bread pudding - made with chocolate croissants.
We loved our dinners (surf and turf and rack of lamb), and the brussel sprouts were so delicious. Everything was just right, including our table which was on the window with a fantastic view. I read in one review that the wine pour for a single glass was short, but I found mine to be quite generous. Loved this restaurant and we will return.
My husband and I were very pleased to see that the Point Lobos benedict was back on the menu. I was also glad to see Huevos Rancheros added as a breakfast item. The location and view are outstanding, as is the service. We live in the neighborhood, and often stop in for breakfast or lunch on our walks.
Service was great. Especially Gabriel stood out with his humor and ability to make us comfortable (seating arrangement, etc.).
The server was also good. He had no name tag. He introduced himself, but I forgot his name. He has three kids, which might help you in identifying him.
Birthday and great experience !
When you go to a high-end restaurant, you expect everything to be five star all the way. However, when the food doesn’t come out perfectly and you have to send it back, it’s very disappointing, especially at these prices. I ordered the rack of lamb, done medium, and it came out between rare and medium rare. I had to send it back, and it still was medium rare.I noticed that the woman at the table next to us had exactly the same problem, and sent her’s back. It was very tasty. And just one other thing. I ordered a lemon drop martini and it was served in a small, 1960’s style, old fashioned champagne glass, rather than a martini glass. You would expect them to have better glassware for cocktails than this. My husband also thought his white wine glass was a little small. The views from this restaurant are spectacular, and I always enjoy it so much when we’re there.
Admittedly, we were reluctant to try this restaurant based upon many of the negative reviews. As a result, we opted for breakfast to play it safe while taking in the views. Surprisingly, we were both extremely satisfied with our decision to try this place.
The service was great and the food was delicious. The views were to die for. We both got the breakfast sandwiches, a couple of mimosas and lattes. Everything was great. We will certainly pay another visit, perhaps for dinner.
