A rich and creamy Charleston classic
Very nice and beautiful view and the food was amazing. I had the seafood platter
Another fantastic meal. A must stop when Charleston
The food was okay.. shrimp was very good.. but the salad not so much.. I loved the salad before but this time I had to pick out the bad stuff and it had more egg than anything else in it.. my daughters steak was over cooked and the taste was that great either. My husband chicken fingers were good no complaints there.. and the drinks from the bar tasted watered down qnd was a huge waste of money.. I really like the place as it is so beautiful but I honestly don't think we will come back due to the food.
If you have a gluten restriction, DO NOT GO HERE! The menu is mislabeled, indicating at least two items as GF when they are not. The marinated steak has soy sauce in the marinade, and the Worcestershire sauce on the steak frites is not GF either. Staff was apologetic, but this was this most egregious and negligent allergen menu I’ve ever encountered. I honestly don’t trust anything on the menu to be properly labeled.
Service was great!! Food was amazing...the marinated sirloin was cooked perfectly and was sooo tender!! The house salad was amazing because their house dressing is amazing!! My fiancé and I go there for all of our special occasions and will continue to do so!!!
We were in town for a half marathon. We ordered basic food, nothing on their fave list, but everything was great. The croissants with honey were amazing, my She Crab soup was great and I loved the salad!
We were seated quickly. We ordered the seafood nachos as an appetizer that was delicious! Our entrees were all delicious and serving size was abundant. Our server was outstanding and continuously exceeded our expectations.
The food was awful! Not cooked, too salty, soup tasted like butter and looked awful, salad was not fresh.
Give reservations customers the options for outside seating, when making reservations.
Our food was excellent! We had seafood pasta, and the blackened chicken pasta. Service was great!
Our waiter was fantastic! I cannot recall his name, but so great service and very prompt with everything! He could tell I was having a rough day and just turned it all around! Thank you!!
Specialty cocktail of the night came and had not been stirred or mixed. It was just layers of alcohol and mixer poured into a glass and given to me. No stir straws/sticks to mix it myself. Terrible bartending. Would not order anything past a simple beer or straight shot of whiskey. The bartender did not know how to mix a proper cocktail. Never make that mistake again. Food was midlevel ok but the service was outstanding and the ambience could not have been better. ALL the covid precautions were in place and followed and we felt as safe as could be in public.
Dinner on Veterans day is always busy but waiter was overextended and did not check table well through the meal. We had long waits for silverware menu( given 3 instead of 4 when seated), drink orders including one that arrived @20-30 after order and after we finished dinner), condiments, and one of our group was served the wrong dinner. There seemed to be a lot of managers walking around - if staff are extremely busy, they should have been helping out more - they did not. We like Cal Dreaming very much and will go again, but they did not have their "A" game that night
Great food, wonderful ambiance. Will definitely go back in the future
I love California dreaming and I will definitely be going back again. Great service and I didnt have to wait long to be seated.
Food was good, service was not great. Received our appetizer before our drinks, and server was busier leaning on the counter talking to the cooks than watching her tables. We could see her through the glass to the kitchen. She spent most of our meal talking to him. Another server noticed our drinks were out and refilled them for us. Took forever to receive condiments when asked for. Again another server saved the day on that. This was our second attempt for this restaurant. Doubt that we will try again. It’s not worth the cost for the poor service.
The food was delicious, service was quick and the ambiance was perfect. We will definitely be back!
The food, service, and ambiance were amazing
It’s an amazing unique place. Always a wonderful experience!
I enjoyed my meal and my server was great!
Our experience was very good. We made reservations and they were very close to hitting the time we reserved. It was very busy. The food was very good. However, I would have enjoyed my experience better if there was a non-alcoholic beer on the menu. I realize these are not very popular and most would end up sitting, I just don’t drink alcohol anymore and iced-tea doesn’t always pair well with a filet mignon.
I took my wife there for our 5th anniversary and our reservation was for 7:15. We were not seated until 8pm. I took another 15 min before we ordered. My ribs had little to no meat on them and the crossiants has barely any drizzle. Supremely disappointed and not likely to return
Always enjoyed going out to a nice dinner. great value, great atmosphere, most of all great service. I was a little disappointed in the pasta that was severed. The amount of chicken made up for it. The Cali salad was on point. In these trying times, all in all it was a night out ! Grateful !
Such great food ! A very nice option for date night !
Tried this place for a 2nd time and it was worse than the 1st time. Service sucked. Had to constantly ask for refills, ordered a $40 steak medium rare and got it well done. Got our salads at the same time as the appetizer. Just overall crappy service and food again. Would not recommend this place.
They had a very nice band playing music from the 30's and 40's. Bloody mary's and red crab claws to start were both fantastic. Shrimp and grits as well as the seafood pasta were just perfect. It was a very nice afternoon and exceeded my expectations. The server was aIso very nice, prompt, and full of knowledge. I have been here many times but this time was really good. I cannot think of 1 thing that was not great.
Lovely table with gorgeous waterfront view. Delicious food. The live jazz music was a plus.
Food was ok but not worth the cost. Had to ask for drink refills which is always annoying but the place itself was neat and had a great view of the harbor.
Salad, mashed potatoes were excellent. Marinated sirloin steak was very tough. Could not even cut it with steak knife.
Delicious, great views, nice mood lighting. Music was a bit weird compared to the ambiance of the restaurant, never have a beautiful water front view in a dim lighted restaurant while party in the USA was blasting. Lol but food was great as we as the service.
We made reservations for my birthday and were not seated right away. The food was great, the waiter was good, but forgot a couple things which was understandable, because it seemed very busy. Over all it was a good experience & I would recommend to others.
The restaurant has nice views and was clean. There were not many appetizers to chose from. Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable. I had ordered steak frittes and was disappointed. The pre cut steak was swimming in a pool of garlic butter. I sent it back and it was thankfully removed from check. House salad was good.
Friendly with excellent service on an extremely busy night. Kudos to the cooks as well!
If you order a plate that comes with fries and coleslaw you get 90 % fries and they will not let you substitute. Also you only get about 3 teaspoons of the coleslaw. My husband order the seafood platter and the flounder was rolled and flounder is a flat fish so don't know what the deal was with that. We talked to the manager and he was like oh well. Dont know if I would order anything that comes with fries and coleslaw.
Food and service was great. The only thing was we had to wait 40 minutes even though we had a reservation. That was the only negative thing about the night.
Kid friendly. Dinner with a view. Family getaway get-together.
Make a reservation 12+ hours in advance if you can!
Menu is very nice but not too high-end that you can’t find something delicious.
They have salad and soup options for light meals and their entrees are very large portions so be ready for leftovers.
Our waiter Austin at table 410 was in a perfect location and gave great service!
The atmosphere is nice, the food and service are great
Our waiter was outstanding! The food was amazing! All together our date was a success!
Birthday dinner for my Son. Special night and the Restaurant did not disappoint. Excellent service, value and as always phenomenal flavors. We had two steaks cooked to perfection - made the evening special as we wanted!
