Spicy shrimp, salmon, red onions, house-made chips, cheese sauce and lobster cream sauce with dill
Lump crab, 4 cheeses, old bay pretzels.
Hostess crew were not friendly. Rest of experience was good
The food is good and moderate priced. The portions have changed and their famous California salad is no so great. No longer chopped and only half of the original portion
Bad day for service for sure. Party of 5 ordered 2 California Dreaming salads. Received 2 salads - not the correct ones, one with honey mustard dressing the other one with no dressing. 2 fried seafood plates. One came with no slaw the other came with only fish. Should have included shrimp and oysters. Kids hamburger plate with French fries came as ordered.
Waiter very accommodating bringing additional items and very apologetic with arrival of food. We were all appreciative and respectful just surprised/disappointed at delivery of the food at California Dreaming.
Did not seem over crowded. Maybe still trying to get staffing back post-covid?
Rib eyeSteak too tough had to send back. Salad had half the ingredients it was supposed to have mostly lettuce and cheese lettuce and a lot of cheese. Will not go back.
The meal and service was off the chain. The prime rib was better than I've had at some of the pricier steak houses. Awesome large wings. I Will definitely return.
Reservations are a problem. Only reservations can be made for 6. After arriving, they were seating non-reservations, after reservations seated, with numbers up to 8. We were then placed in a large rounded corner booth where easily two more people could have joined us instead of being left out.
We ate outside with a beautiful view. The food was average. Service was slow. The chairs outside were very uncomfortable. Overall just an average, at best, dining experience.
Visiting Charleston on vacation and ate lunch there on a Sunday. We liked it so much that we decided to have dinner there one night too. The food is amazing and the waiters were very professional. The croissants are so delicious that we ordered some to take back to our hotel. Fantastic waterfront location. Highly recommend.
The food was TERRIBLE!!!!
It’s been a while since we have visited… sat out on the patio and had a lovely birthday dinner for my dad! The food was delicious just like we remembered!!!
Enjoyed our dinner, good service, nice view of the Marina.
Food was overcooked and service was very slow. Waited 45 minutes for our food after ordering.
We had a great view of the harbor. Food is a bit pricey but was good.
Good customer service.
Service was bad and I’ve been during pandemic 2-other times and had great service.
The disappointment is in the changes to the menu. They discontinued the Cream Spinach but now have it available on nachos as an appetizer but yet will not serve it as a vegetable side. They have only one vegetable side now and it the "Seasonal Choice" and the choice was Brussel Sprouts. Really???? YUCK! and no other choice??
Pretty busy so the attention from the servers was not the best. I guess with the shortage of workers these days I should expect this type of service. When the waitress did come by she was cordial and did a pretty good job.
Food was good. Not enough staff to work the crowd
Our waitress was amazing. Excellent service!!!
Placed to near to live music. Could not have a conversation with my table
Waited hour and a half for food. Quality of food was good.
One meal was overcooked. Didn't care for the taste of a different dish. The restaurant did recook the overcooked dish. Asked for a few condiments they went to another table by the time our server came back to check on us I was 1/2 way through the meal. She was however very friendly everyone was. It was earlier in the evening 430ish not really busy so not sure why we had such a struggle with our meal. Total cost of meal was around 165.00 not really a pleasant meal for the service and quality of food we received.
Food was very disappointing. Made my wife’s cocktail wrong. $26 seafood platter was overcooked and overpriced.
Better than we thought it would be. It’s a large restaurant and they move you in and out quick. They were asking for dessert orders while we were just digging into the main dish. Chicken Caesar Salad, crab dip and broiled chicken were good!
Nice place to go too. Very cool views. Food and service was great. Can do a little better with cleaning the tables and bottom of the window apron and stool. Bit dirty with bbq got some on my clothes and knee. Other than that, it was great!!
We had a party of three and we’re seated by the bar in a booth. Made a reservation so we did not have to wait long at all on a busy Sunday. I ordered the California dreaming salad, never disappoints. My brother attempted to order prime rib, but we were informed that it was only prepared well done that day which we found extremely odd. He got a sirloin instead so that he could order Medium Rare. Drinks were great, nothing took too long to come out, service was attentive and fast!
EVERYTHING WAS GREAT(EXCEPT FOR STUFFING MY SELF) MY OUT OF STATE GUESTS FELT THE SAME. THEY DO NOT HAVE A C.D. IN VIRGINIA. THAT IS WHY MY HUSBAND AND I PICKED THE C. D. IN CHARLESTON. WE WERE NOT DISSAPPOINTED. THANKS!!! SHERRY
Great experience, and delicious food.
One of the best views of Charleston Harbor you will find. Food and service were excellent for the price.
Good Food....Good Fun...Good Atmosphere...Good Views
Food was good, but tasted like it was missing something. I had the Charleston seafood pasta. Fiancé loved her food though. She had salmon on a bed of Alfredo noodles.
Noise was still loud from the upbeat music. Seems this place should be more low key and romantic.
I also wish they would bring back the cauliflower bites.
The food is exceeded our expectations based on the reviews we had read.
Food was alright. Server was pleasant and attentive. Live music was waaaayyy too loud. Couldn’t carry on a conversation and servers were struggling to hear customers. Could have been better.
We had an amazing table with a gorgeous view. Reservations highly recommended. They had live music, which added to the great atmosphere. The server was very nice. She was training someone, who was very patient and eager to learn. All of the food was delicious, especially the croissants and crab dip appetizer. However, they were out of sparkling water and she-crab soup. Also, my main entree order was incorrect and we did not notice until after I had started to eat it. I had ordered the catch of the day, but instead was brought a whole fried fish. The presentation was not appealing at all and I couldn't finish all of my food. Would definitely go back and re-order the catch of the day, ensuring that my order is correct this time.
Brooke is an excellent manager at this location. She really cares about the complete guest experience……outstanding manager.
Our service was terrible. Out table was angled towards the kitchen and our salads sat on the pickup counter for at least 45 minutes before they were served. The restaurant was not crowded. We eat here frequently and we were very disappointed.
The food was great and the service impeccable we were treated very kindly and the waiter made sure we had what we wanted just truly an awesome experience. Highly recommend California Dreaming for a fun and enjoyable night out.
California dreaming is definitely a restaurant I would revisit when in Charleston it was a beautiful evening the food was superb the waiter was the bomb however we were seated right next to the bar which had a lot of high noise and people walking back and forth that I didn't care for too much I would have preferred to be seated at a booth away from the bar area but nevertheless I enjoyed my visit at California Dreaming and would absolutely refer it and visit again
One of our favorite dining spots. Food and service are excellent. I had to follow up with the desk regarding my 4:15 reservation because we were still not seated at 4:35. This is not the first time this happened, otherwise no complaints.
Music too loud. Seating too close which was likely to help the servers but would have preferred a little less dense. Had we known better we would’ve requested a more appropriate table for our preference. Food was good. Salmon was excellent on my salad.
