Food was original creative and most importantly delicious! Their pizzas were amazing as were their appetizers!
Service although kind and gracious was frustratingly slow.
We were warmly greeted and offered a lovely booth. Jordan was our server who was outstanding. The busboy filled our water glasses as needed without having to ask. We had meatballs, baby lettuce salad, lasagna and branzino fish. Each course individually served per our request. Everything was absolutely delicious. It is a beautiful restaurant and everything was perfect
They went above and beyond. Food was excellent!
Fabulous food, decor was stunning. Cocktails very yummy
Highly recommend for anniversaries! The made us a card signed by the whole staff and could not have been any nicer🎉🎊
Food was amazing!!! We enjoyed every last bite!!! Also tried an Italian Gin & Tonic...it was VERY smooth!!!
My favorite restaurant in LA
Amazing meal and atmosphere! Love this place!
I would give Cal Mare 10 stars if that was possible! My friend and I went there for an event in October and enjoyed food at the bar with other friends and it was all so delicious. We then went back in February to celebrate our belated birthdays and wow, they just blew us away! We arrived to find a lovely birthday card for each of us on the table which was signed by the entire staff. They gave us a complimentary glass of champaign to start off the celebration. We ordered so much food and were just amazed at the beautiful presentations and incredible flavors!! Our waiter Nicholas was excellent and so attentive to us. The General Manager Robert came out to say hello and happy birthdays to us. I had met him during our first visit as well and he is always so sweet and kind. We saw friends at the bar who said they go often and raved of the wonderful, long happy hour. The restaurant is a magnificent addition to the newly remodeled Beverly Center. There's a new entrance where you just pull up to the valet in front of the restaurant. Prices are good, service is excellent, food is absolutely delicious and the restaurant is gorgeous - I highly recommend you go!
Food came out wrong. Was not worth eating once it managed to arrive. With so many great places to go in the area this place needs to do a lot better.
Thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and the impeccable service. The grilled octopus was over seasoned and overwhelmed by the sauce. Also the lobster pasta sauce could have used a more delicate sauce instead of a strong red sauce.
Everything was great!
It's a nice place to take someone out for a cute date or just catching up. Also the food is amazing and taste real good. Special occasion high end type of vibe. For sure recommend.
What a enjoyable dining experience. From the custom drinks at the bar, to the expectation and preparation for my daughter’s birthday, and personalized birthday card signed by all of the staff. The food was delicious, our server made excellent suggestions and was extremely attentive. It was a great experience and we will return.
GREAT FOOD AND COCKTAILS, GREAT ATTENTIVE SERVICE, LIVELY BAR SCENE
I've been in LA for the last 4 weeks and Cal Mare is the best restaurant I've have dined at. Definitely will return.
A potentially excellent meal was basically ruined by the wait times, especially for food from the kitchen. The restaurant seemed to be overwhelmed, even though it was not particularly crowded. After we were seated, it took 15-20 minutes for a server to approache the table. The appetizer that we ordered came out quickly, but then, the wheels came off. It must have taken 35 or 40 minutes to get the entrees, a fish dish and a pasta dish; both were delicious, and they did not stand around in the kitchen, because they were delivered piping hot. But, we had been sitting for so long that all we wanted to do was escape.
On the positive side, besides the really excellent food taste and preparation, the restaurant tried to compensate for the excessive wait times by comping the wine that we ordered. All in all, even with the frustration we experienced, the food was excellent and we will return, hoping that we just hit an "off night".
Very delicious dishes!!! Friendly staff
Service was very nice. We had bronzino and tuna Crudo. Both were very fresh. We also had the papardelle which was cooked perfectly and nicely sauced.
Perfect place for a girl date. Tried the DineLA menu and it was amazing. Will definitely go back!
Fantastic service by staff who treated us real nice for our anniversary dinner celebration. Great decor and food. Will be back!
This is my favorite restaurant in the city
Hostess: We were placed at the first round table when you entered the restaurant. All other tables were empty. We asked to move to a space further back in the restaurant and were told it was a full house. That was not true.
Sommelier: We asked for bottle recommendations that were under $100. He continued to provide us recommendations that were $120+.
Server: While our server was very good throughout the meal, he brought us the final bill with a service fee of 98%. When we asked him to revise it he acted like he didn't know that happened and updated the service fee to 22% (but removed the %). We calculated the total and most restaurants that include a service charge (tip) do it at 18%. We had him revise to 20% but when we booked the reservation it was not mentioned that parties of x+ would have gratuity automatically applied.
I would not go back to this restaurant.
Everything was top notch. Pizza, pasta, crudo, and mozzarella. But the desserts were a little "meh". Cannolis were just ok, and the pistachio gelato just ok. Next time I will skip the desserts, as everything else was tasty.
Our first time to Cal Mare
Service was fine.
Food was good.
The bar was very slow getting our 1 drink to the table.
We had our first food brought to the table before the drink arrived.
Beautiful restaurant but TOO LOUD. It was nearly empty, maybe a full house could have absorbed some of the volume but it really was too loud.
The food was great with the exception of the scallops with the breaded topping and the heavy tomato sauce on the octopus. The crudos are fantastic and the pastas something out of the ordinary.
Can I just say that this is the secret find of all secret finds… Cal Mare is an amazing restaurant… Michael Mina has a little treasure here… If you haven’t been yet, you should come check out the bar scene… The happy hour is off the hook!
We had a Christmas Eve prefix menu and we loved every single dish served.
Nicholas was an Excellent waiter. Informative, attentive but not hovering. The food was excellent. We had the lasagna rotolo, which was innovative and delicious, and the rigatoni carbonara, delicious and meaty. The appetizer Zeppole was a special treat. The brussel sprouts were top notch. Plus, the total was reasonable. I highly recommend Cal Mare at the Beverly Center.
I would not return except to sit at the bar for a drink.
The baked branzino was hands down the best prepared fish we've ever had. Moist, tender, tasty and delicious!! Plus, the bartender makes a mean Manhattan and Old Fashioned.
Pastas and pizzas great. Sommelier very helpful and knowledgeable. Service is great. Red snapper a bit dry and sauces bland.
Great service -- they went above and beyond to make our table feel special. Food was well prepared and innovative. Nice room with open kitchen. Kind of quiet but it was a Monday night.
Kyle is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful! Thanks Pedram
Wow - AMAZING !!! It’s in the mall , and it kind of feels like that & still I would go anytime. It’s really good , service was very friendly too. That B- sprout pizza was silllyyyy
Pleasant place with fairly good food and good staff. This was my second time there in a week and both times the timing was off on the drink orders and the food. The last time we were there it took forever to get our drinks and they came one at a time. We were told the bar was backed up. Not a good excuse with a half empty restaurant on a Sat night. I wish them well but probably won’t rush back anytime soon
The apps we ordered were boring and bland. Main course was better.
We went to Cal Mare because i had a travel zoo voucher. The waiter was good, and we ordered two appetizers: the pin wheel and the chickpea/shrimp pancake. Those two were creative dishes; i was impressed with the pancakes, it was almost Korean in flavor and had carmelized onions. I would recommend givng that a try. The complimentary rolls were fresh and doughy, and the olive oil was on point. I also ordered the Grilled Branzino, which was very tasty and good. The three cheese pizza was good and had a garlic flavor, but some of my friends felt it was heavy. The pasta dishes (lobster with noodles, pasta with broccolini, and the Ravioli) were kind of mediocore. I'm glad i had the expereince, but maybe it was a little overpriced.
