Kyle did a great job!
Just loved it. Definitely will go back soon!
We went to Cal Mare specifically for the pasta and the pasta did not disappoint. But there was so much more to love than just the pasta. We also ordered the whole friend red snapper which was delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable and helped pace our meal as we needed to be at a show right after dinner. Even with our request to keep things moving quickly nothing felt rushed. Pair all of that with some great wine and it was a fantastic meal.
Amazing meal and great service. Tasting menu was out of this world. Can't wait to come again.
Overpriced menu and wine list for a mall restaurant.
Other than the pizza crust and the focaccia pinwheels, the food was mediocre. The sommelier (I believe his name was Metro) was incredible and the waiter was helpful however there was a woman who was either an asst. GM or shift manager who was unbelievably condescending and rude. She talked down to my girlfriend after we sent back the Carbonara Pizza. It went from far too salty to practically flavorless. When we gave that opinion, she spoke to us as if it was our fault and wouldn't leave well enough alone. We were celebrating a family member visiting LA and this meal put an absolute sour note on the entire weekend. I have no intention whatsoever of returning to this restaurant.
Located in Beverly Hills, Cal Mare is a cozy, coastal-Italian restaurant. The high price point means this may be a restaurant for a special occasion, but it is more than worth the price. The restaurant includes an open kitchen design (so you can see the chefs in the kitchen) as well as a sommelier that can help you decide on a wine and allows you to sample their selection. I highly recommend getting one of the pasta dishes while you are there. We had the pappardelle and agnolotti dishes and they were both heavenly! The fish is also delicious; we had the branzino dish. I will definitely be coming back to this place.
My friend and I were really impressed with the restaurant. We had an outstanding experience. The food, ambience, service all exceeded our expectations. We are still dreaming of the Carbonara pizza. Looking forward to going back!
Amazing creative delicious Italian food. One of the best if not the best in Los Angeles
The restaurant rather formulaic - central bar, open kitchen, contemporary seating - which you would expect from a Mina Group restaurant. The food was unexceptional; not bad, but not worth the price. The bar looked very good.
My new favorite restaurant in LA. The service is outstanding, you can tell that the Michelin trained chefs care about the entire experience. Their chicken, for being a fish restaurant, is also exceptional. Also get the pasta-baked branzino. I really enjoyed the entire experience from start to finish. I will definitely be back!
Food was outstanding, excellent atmosphere, great staff.
Great food. Great service. Great place. Great everything. Looking forward to going back again soon.
Saturday evening date with wife. Great service, great food.
Great food, chill vibe, attentive wait staff. All around great spot!
Food & service was great.
We had dinner here as it was near our hotel in LA. We both had the lobster for main.... at US$65.00 we were shocked to be served what was the size of a shrimp!!!... and about 4 bites!!!!
EXPENSIVE & TOTAL RIP OFF!!!
Not recommended at all!!!
Girl who served us was very good
The service was impeccable. Metro was so helpful. The food was spectacular-every bite!
AMAZING! So impressed with the flavors and ease of every dish. Service was excellent. Definitely try the burrata and tomato dish.
Food was awful. Snapper was undercooked and raw. Baby octopus was fishy and tasted like clam sauce. Service was not good. Iced teas never filled.
The service was pretty good and the food was decent. Nothing to write home about.
Great neighborhood gem right at The Beverly Center. I went for pasta and it was amazing. They have the best gelato too...exotic flavors and a great happy hour too!
Had a reservation. Took 30 minutes to get seated. Another 30 for bread and drink order. When we went to order. 45 minutes after being seated, they were out of the dishes we wanted to order. Device was horrible. Food was fair at best
Great margaritas and amazing food!
Exquisite food and exceptional personal attention and service. The evening was flawless from the moment we entered the restaurant.
Had heard a negative review and was hesitant to try this restaurant but so glad I did! Outstanding! The gem salad delicious , the saffron spaghetti with lobster amazing and the mocha latte yummy! Cant wait to go back!
Too too too salty
Some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. Excellent service with a friendly knowledgeable staff.
Service was not good - waiter was not friendly and didn’t seem interested in his job! The place was too noisy other than that it was a good place.
We have come here a few times with no disappointment. Chef Joe knows food very well, his passion comes out in his cooking.
Ashley our server rocks with her knowledge, along with her professionalism.
It’s a must for everyone to experience!
This is our third time here. We have tried different things each time and been very happy with the flavors. Also the service is wonderful, they recommended wine to go with our food and we liked the combinations.
Pleasant surprise. Food and service were excellent.
The food is fabulous! We have been here twice and each time has been perfect. The wait staff is excellent as is the somm and the food. We definitely would recommend this restaurant. The pastas pizza and fish are sublime!! And after watching joe on top chef his food is every-bit as good as it looked.
This is easily my very favorite restaurant in the city. The main chef, mustache Joe from the TV show top chef is absolutely incredibly brilliant In his culinary concoctions. Everything he cooks is super delicious. He makes great pizza, extremely inventive pastas,
Spectacular seafood dishes, everything is just the best of the best. The service is impeccable and extremely friendly. You get an amazing value if you do the tasting menu. I would eat here every day if I could. I give this restaurant 100 stars
The food was good, the ambiance felt like Olive Garden. Cheap tables and chairs in a large room. No intimacy, no vibe. Why would I want to spend $100+ pp for that?
Too bad because the food is good.
Food was delish and very generous portions.
I have dined here a couple of times at the bar now, and they never disappoint. From cocktails to food absolutely stellar. You MUST have one of chefs pasta’s!!! Some of the best in town, and that I’ve had in my life. Branzino, insanely flavorful, even though it wasn’t actually seasoned. It was seasoned through the pasta dough it was wrapped in. And you HAVE to have the caviar with mozzarella, elegant.
Cal Mare is quite possibly the best Italian dinner I have ever had. The famous chef with a mustache from Top Chef makes an incredible Bucatini and Beet based pasta. Stick around for a chocolate budino dessert (incredible).
Everyone was professional and made us feel comfortable.
