Home to the flavorsome platters of South Louisiana, Cajun Queen is a converted home restaurant, the architecture of which dates back to the vintage early 18th century. A nostalgic iteration of the 1980's New Orleans greets the visiting patrons, with purple, green and golden themed décor priming the interiors at Cajun Queen. The dining experience is equally comfortable, and customers can cine in the living room, expanded restroom, sunroom or wrought iron rooftop terrace.
From crawfish to seafood, gumbo to steak—the servings at Cajun Queen are a concoction of culinary choices. Fried shrimp, etouffee, blackened chicken breast, bayou platter, ribeye steak and frenbch cut pork chop are often the most ladled platters which customers like to order. Wine servings prime the bar area to complement the authentic Cajun flavors.
Went to Cajun Queen with my family to celebrate my birthday which is today. My my lunch and my daughters lunch was ok. When it came to my husband. He got fish, rice and a big bouquet of broccoli for outrages price. Sorry Cajun Queen I rather go back to Louisiana to get better Seafood . Not coming back !!
This was my first time visiting Cajun Queen. My husband and I had a wonderful time on our date night. We started the night with the exquisite barbecue shrimp and the entree of shrimp creole. It was Superior!! The food was season perfect and stay extremely hot until the last bite.
The food is absolutely wonderful. The ambiance and service is good. However, if you are looking for a nice romantic flair do not sit near the band as it can be a bit noisy.
This was my sixth time visiting, as always the food is excellent. This time the service was horrible, so much so that I tipped the bus boy instead of the waiter. Our waiter was never around, was condescending, and rude. We had to flag down other waiters or the busboy for drink refills and the bread and we were never checked on. When the waiter was flagged down he asked if we were ready for dessert and I replied we are ready for the check he stomped off like a little kid who could not careless. What is so sad...this was a birthday dinner for my father. We will go back, hopefully we will not encounter the same waiter.
Canjun Queen has been the solid favorite spot in Charlotte since my return to the area four years ago. Menu items are always consistent and the specials always deserve their name. Great for a birthday for six or a quite dinner for two. Prices are fair and value is always at least or more than wold be anticipated. Thank you to the staff and management.
Having been to Louisiana, we thought the food was pretty good. It did favor the Creole side of cooking versus the Cajun side. Would like to see a bit more of the brown sauces as opposed to the red. The atmosphere was wonderful!
Taste buds gone AWRY!!!
Additionally the service was good, but the evening entertainment was superb.
Beat Cajun in town. Always my choice for date night!
"The Queen" never lets me down whether just a fun time with friends or introducing someone to her for the first time. YUMMMMMMMM Been one of my standards since she opened and I lived within walking distance. Keep up the GREAT reputation!!!!
We have always enjoyed Cajun Queen for its atmosphere, great food and great service. We love the music that is played there. Overall one of the best restaurants available in Charlotte.
This is a great place to go for date night. Food is great, great atmosphere and great service. Definitely a neighborhood gem.
Fried Green Tomatoes were terrific, my Mahi was very fresh, other comments from our table...this is the best salmon I've ever had. Truly someplace we will return to.
Food is delicious! The setting is charming. We were there at a very busy time so our waiter was very busy and could not be as attentive as one would wish for.
I have returned to this restaurant a number of times when entertaining guests. The location and setting are unique, and the food and service are wonderful.
The food was absolutely wonderful. The service was not great at all. The waiter seemed unengaged. We were looking forward to hearing the live band but was not aware that we had to make a special requests to sit upstairs where they were playing. Parking is very inconvenient also.
