Caffé e Cucina opened on August 16th 1988, with the aim of recreating the great restaurants in the most famous cities all over Italy. Since then, it has consistently achieved high acclaim in its contribution to the definition of "cafe culture" in Australia, originally introducing the concept of Italian hospitality in Melbourne.
Small tables, dim lights and high-end service are only some of our secret. "Produzione Artigianale” means strong attention to detail and passion for our culture.
A wide selection of wines, freshly baked bread on arrival and top quality extra virgin olive oil will never be missing.
The warm welcoming atmosphere, the thick accents and the genuine flavours are perfectly blended, casting a spell that transports you straight to Italy.

We have always been driven by the clear and ambitious intention to provide great traditional food, attentive yet friendly service and all around consistency.

Alberto, one of the delightful waiters was attentive with a beautiful Latino flourish. Enhanced the wonderful romantic atmosphere and food. Wine Montepulchiano excellent, correct temperature. Full bodied excellent bouquet. Cicchetti, we had Carpaccio di Manzo. A sight and taste temptation! Food great size for Primi Piatti, wonderful tasting Fettuccine con Gamberi e Pesto Trapanese with Insalata ‘Di Cucina', then a mousse and short black

Noisy, poor service and $50 surcharge for 3 people on public holiday too high, The uncomfortable wooden cafe chairs totally outdated. Expect better for price, would not return.

Really good experience. Second visit for my son's birthday. We had the table on the balcony - well heated. Great service, great food, authentic Italian.

Every time we come to Melbourne from Perth we visit your fabulous restaurant. It was my wife’s favourite restaurant before she passed away 3 years ago & we keep her memory’s of Melbourne alive by visiting E Cuccina each time we come. We had a fantastic bottle of Chianti I think SAN Genovesi if I have the spelling correct which was greatly enjoyed by our 3 wine drinkers. As always great service, ambience & food. See you next trip.
