   Tasty, straightforward Italian with good flavors. Not life-changing, but good stuff. Also, wine was very good and reasonably priced given the neighborhood.

   I don’t usually trust Yelp reviews, but in this case they were spot on. The food was very good but the overall service was mediocre. Food was very slow to arrive and the meal was not well-paced. (Our appetizer and first course arrived quickly but there was a long 30-40minute wait for our main course.). It may be that the kitchen is too small for the size of the restaurant. The servers were not friendly and did not make us feel welcome. (They did their job, i.e. took our order, brought our food, and checked up on us, but the whole time we felt we were just another interruption in their otherwise pleasant day.). One of my biggest pet peeves in a restaurant is when you are ready to go and you can’t find anyone to bring you the check or take your money. In this way, cafe delucchia did not disappoint. It was more trouble than it should’ve been to get our check and get them to take our money. Bottom line: I won’t be going here again and can’t recommend it to anyone.

   I have eaten here a handful of times over the years. Last time was awhile ago. I booked brunch here with family friends in town because of the location and because they take reservations. We each had egg dishes, and all were good. But for me, there were probably too many issues to warrant coming back. The service was mediocre. Our waitress was pretty much phoning it in. We sat outside, which can be loud on Columbus. I was with an elderly couple and it was obvious one had a hearing problem as he kept asking what she was saying and she had to repeat everything at least twice. She could not be bothered with making any effort to speak a bit any louder or move any closer, which is what most normal people would have done. Several times we had to ask multiple people to get things. I told 3 people I had no silverware or napkin. When they brought us coffee they didn't bother to check if we needed cream (we had an empty pitcher on the table.) No one ever came by to refill coffee. At one point, one person at my table asked for more, but after filling their cup, she walked off before bothering to check other's cups at the table. (?!) For toast, all they have is white bread (really??) and if you ask for jam, all they had was grape jelly (yuck, really??) I asked for my potatoes to be well done. They were not at all. My avocado scramble was fine. None of us came close to finishing our food which is probably not a great sign. The portions were fine, but not large. This is a fairly small restaurant. Keeping up with simple stuff like occasionally refilling coffee should not be such a challenge. To be fair, she did check on us once, but it was only a few minutes after we got our food (before we needed more coffee.) Also, as a hot sauce lover, one of my pet peeves is when they only have Tabasco, which is lame. I also thought it was odd that to get a decaf coffee, you have to order an Americano. They claim almost no one orders it. I will say that the prices are relatively reasonable.

   Delicious meal right on Columbus Ave! Everything our group ordered was amazing. The menu was fabulous, you can't go wrong.

   The worst experience. I had friends from out of town that were looking forward to an amazing meal in San Francisco. I was embarrassed to say the least. Horrible food and service. Don’t serve a Moscow mule if you don’t know how to make it. Don’t serve it in a water glass.

    Thank you for accommodating my family from Canada and the lovely service, and the kind server who took great family pictures of us. The capellini with shrimp was delicious, but can you ever have enough shrimp? The gorgonzola polenta was a success, and the ice tea was an amazing flavor. Lovely atmosphere, great staff and nice food. Thank you Caffe DeLucchi
