I had the scallops and shrimp; my wife had the gnocchi. The food was excellent as it had been on our prior visits, with the exception of my raspberry lemon torte which was a little dry. Because of that flaw I rated food overall at very good. The service was excellent.
The restaurant was lovely, it was tiny and we were a big group. We felt like we had to be quiet. But the food and service was outstanding!
Excellent service and delicious food! Both dinner and breakfast.
Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, an excellent server. We were delighted and will return!
It was our anniversary!! A wonderful experience:). The food and service were perfect
Never disappointed. This is a beautiful, chic, place. The menu varies but is consistently good and they always keep the steadfast favorites. Great place for brunch. It is my go to restaurant for any occasion. Highly recommend.
Zinc has the right chemistry!
The food was very good. We sat on the patio facing west but the shades blocked the sun. Samosa patties were very good and the dessert (chocolate mousse cake) was very good too.
This was our first visit in the summer. Previous meals were in Fall or Christmas which we always rated Very good to exceptional. We sat at a small table for 2 next to a table of 12 women arrived after us just for drinks and deserts. So understandably noisy. There was also a family with 3 young children which were very noisy. We commented to each other that we should have sat outside, much quieter. Wife had Filet Medallions which were good. I had the NY Strip which was cooked Sous Vide but did not know that until I realized she did not ask how I wanted my steak cooked. So I got up and went to tell her Medium Rare. She then told me it was SV and I did not have a choice but could change my order. I know that many high end restaurants cook SV to Rare or Med Rare and then flame cook the surface for flavor. They can also finish cooking on a grill to Med. I did not think the steak was that flavorful. The biggest complaint we had was the sun shining in our faces the whole meal along with looking at the dirty windows. We commented to the waitress about the sunlight and she did not offer any alternatives. For a nice restaurant without any way to block sun or alternate inside 2 person tables to sit at without bright sun it was distracting. Would not recommend for mid-late summer inside for 2 people. Still a good choice for 3 or more.
Wonderful meal food was fresh and tasty I changed up the avocado toast with egg whites best that I have had and the multi grain bread is exceptional Great coffee too! Service was not spot on but the great food made up for it
I'd had lunch here several times but this was the first dinner, and it was great. The food was creatively and expertly prepared, service was thoughtful but unobtrusive, and the evening was perfect. I'd eat here again any time.
Johnathon provided excellent service
Top notch service and exquisite meal. Mary Anne our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable. The meal was perfection and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing.
Slow night due to street fair, but the staff took great care of us !
Would return me next time in Midland.
Filet was good. Bread great! Fruit was outstanding!
Wonderful surprise to find this remarkable place for lunch on our way to Traverse City. Everything was excellent. We plan to stop on our way back to Cleveland.
Super friendly host and great server! Food was good and we didn’t feel rushed.
A culinary surprise in Midland MI
Excellent fresh food well prepared
Attentive service and nice ambiance reasonably priced
Awesome place with delicious food! I highly recommend it.
Excellent ambiance. Diverse menu of well prepared food. Service is always excellent
Had our 4th of July dinner here because we were staying in the hotel. All very convenient for the fireworks. We had the pork chop and the Acorn Power Bowl. Both delicious and the Acorn Power Bowl was a larger portion than expected for you vegetarians. The bread was very delicious also especially the darker bread shown in photos.
We had a reservation....there was not a table available....they thought 10 minutes....we sat at counter and waited.....about 20 minutes later as our food was coming out....a table was then available....
We decided to finish our meal at counter....too much hassle to change over to table....very disappointed ....
I took my husband out for brunch for Father’s Day and we had to sit at counter.
No one offered us a free beverage or dessert or anything....
Staff didn’t seem concerned that we were inconvenienced .
Excellent food and service. My wife and I both had the lobster thermidor for dinner. It was excellent.
The breakfast menu has many interesting options to choose from, the service as always is great.
Had a lovely anniversary dinner. Food was good, desserts were amazing. Very small crowd on a summer Friday.
Outstanding service and wonderful food.
I love Zinc. Food is consistently excellent. Good service. The change up the menu a bit for the seasons. Still my favorite place in town.
Always my choice when friends come to town. (The drinks are great, too!)
The BLT was misrepresented on the menu. I had made a reservation for a table and was seated at the counter even though there was an open table, apparently for another reservation. Bad encounter.
Although we had reservations ....we were seated next to side door....we had to ask to change tables.
Also, my server charged my meal....and someone else’s on my card. I had to call yo get this straightened out....no explanation was give for this mistake. Very disappointed .
The food was good ....
Did not give 5 stars on food since my daughter's pancakes had a pea in it. Told wait staff, who brushed it off. For a top rated restaurant in Midland, I was surprised at wait staff response.
ALWAYS excellent. Great food. Excellent service. Limited menu but something for everyone. My go to restaurant for any occasion. Great brunch also. Outdoor seating. Just an absolutely lovely place.
Excellent food and service as always
Exceptional food and service. Have never been disappointed.
Very good breakfast. My French Toast was outstanding! Menu items are a bit pricey, but the quality and presentation of the food were impeccable. I would definitely dine there again. I did make a special request that was not met. It was our 29th wedding anniversary AND our youngest son was graduating from college. We wanted a special table. We were seated in a crowded area and no one said happy anniversary or congratulations. It would have been special to hear that.
As always, delicious food, attentive service, in a great bistro atmosphere. Been coming here since they opened, have never had a bad meal. One of our favorite restaurants not only in Midland, but anywhere!
Food and service were excellent. My wife’s steak was a bit too rare fkr medium rare but rhat was fixed in a jiffy. Wine list is interesting. Reservation was easy and we had a great table waiting for us the minute we walked in. A great night!
It was a good high class place and the bill will show that. It’s worth going on special occasions
Service was a little slow initially but overall it is our favorite restaurant in Midland.
Not as good as usual. French Onion soup and Key Lime pie were both very good, but the rest of the food was well below usual standards at Zinc. Focus seems to be on un unusual combinations and trendy ingredients rather than tasting good. Also, we were very disappointed when the restaurant starting cleaning up and preparing for breakfast while we were eating. It was before 8:00PM on a Friday night and we felt very rushed to leave and that the staff was only focused on closing up. About 7:40PM, several tables cleared so there was only us and one other table. At that point, the whole staff seemed to shift from serving customers to cleaning up and getting out of there. This made for a very unpleasant atmosphere.
Love this cozy place . Service is great . Food is very good. Pricer than others.
