Cafe Vinoteca - Sacramento
Four of us went to dinner on a Thursday evening. Parking lot near restaurant was full. We parked in lot at far end. Our group had the linguini and clams, scallops, veal, and pork picatta. Food tasted good, but the men wanted more scallops and clams in their dishes. The oil dip for the bread was good, but I would prefer sour dough or french bread to dip instead of the soft, white bread chunks. Service was good. Fairly noisy. The prices were reasonable and I would return.
Great restaurant. Food was great and generously portioned. Staff was nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend.
Fried Squid was great - Salmon was delicious, but the portion was tiny - My son's lasagne was average - Service was great, and the staff was very friendly.
Service was great by all. The sea bass dish I had was the special for the evening and it was bland - hardly any taste at all and was supposed to be Cajun seasoned. The amount of fish in the dish equalled about a 1/4 cup total so for $28 I got a lot of noodles with very little fish. Vegetables were moderate. My boyfriend had the Lasagna and it was very very good! Should have had French bread though bs the small pieces of whatever it was for dipping.
Overall it was a nice evening and the food wasn’t bad at all. We’ll definitely be back.
The first step through the door signaled the start of an amazing experience. The aromas were sensational. And every bite that followed was filled with distinct flavors, tastes that blended into a masterful mix. I truly appreciated every bite I took. Our servers were attentive and the staff worked as a team on a busy Christmas eve. This was my first time dining here. My parents are returning customers. Now I see why. I will be back as well. Thank you for a simply delightful evening.
I am hearing impaired and requested a table near a wall so we could have a conversation during our dinner. They could only seat us at a small table in the middle of the room. This was at 5:45pm with the restaurant half filled. It is extremely noisy there and sitting in the midst of of a room full of noise is unacceptable so we left without eating and went elsewhere.
Service was a bit slow but food was fantastic!!
We had the best Thanksgiving Dinner! Our daughter is a student at Sac State and we are from Maryland so we were looking for a place for a good meal. We were not disappointed. It may become an annual tradition to visit you for Thanksgiving! Staff was outstanding! Grateful for their positive and happy attitudes while working so that we could enjoy the day with our daughter.
We are not from the area, but this has become our go-to spot whenever we are in Sac! The food is always delicious and the staff is very friendly. It got busy while we were there so the noise level definitely rose, but it wasn't over the top. Highly recommended!
We were celebrating a birthday/engagement. We laughed a lot, drank a lot, and probably stayed longer than we should have, closing the place. However, we never felt rushed. The staff was amazing, friendly, and genuinely allowed us to finish at our leisure. The food was amazing and the house-made Limoncello was the icing on the cake. We’ll be back!!
A great little place tucked away. This was our first time going there and we will definitely go back!
Excellent food and great service. The wait staff made it an excellent dining experience!
Excellent food! Excellent service!
Not withstanding the place being packed the food was delicious and served in a timely manner. There was no bartender but a full bar and a very full restaurant. The cocktails were made by your server and ours clearly knew nothing about bartending.
The service was great. The made serving the customer their only priority. So, we always had what we needed even though it was brought by a variety of team members.
Took 45 minutes to get our meals. Salad had sat too long lettuce was soggy onion rings were cold and greasy. Veal and shrimp were under done. Manager compensated for the poor quality but server did little to communicate with us.
I had heard great things about this restaurant and read previous reviews. It was very disappointing. The food for both of us was bland and we both left our food. The service was amazing, atmosphere lacking.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
We really enjoyed our night at Cafe Vinoteca. Our cocktails were great and the food was outstanding. Noise level was a bit high, though:
Although we dine at Cafe Vinoteca on average only twice a year, we have never had a poor meal or an unfriendly greeting. We were celebrating my birthday and had reserved a particular table. It was great to know that we were given the table we had requested. Our waitress Cassandra was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the scallops which were grilled perfectly, served with roasted asparagus and creamy risotto. I still gave five stars for the food even though my husband said that his pasta carbonara was not al dente, he did eat it all 😉 because it was delicious.
The portions were more than substantial, I brought home most of my grilled romaine Gorgonzola salad and a large amount of my main course. We glanced at the desert menu but we knew we were more than full. We will return more often to Cafe Vinoteca.
The hostess greeted us right away, and sat just the 2 of us at the table for 5. Nice smile, friendly manner. One of our 3 guests joined us fairly quickly, and the waitress joined us to take a drink order. Our waitress was engaging, funny, and good at her job. When she was teased she handled it with grace and humor. And the food was solid. Everyone cleared their plate. The only issue was the restaurant was a little warm, but we didn't mention it to them.
Great place to eat with family and friends. Wonderful service and delicious food.
My husband and I both enjoyed the food, drinks and great service!! I have already bragged to my friends and family about how BOMB the food is here! We will definitely be coming back and can't wait to try something new from the menu. I am obsessed with the Risotto Cakes. They are amazing!!
Food is outstanding in every respect. Standard entrees are prepared with care and consistency. Great variety in starters. Decent wine selection. Only problem remains the coordination of the kitchen and wait staff. This time our entrees were delivered before we finished our salad/soup. Last time it was the opposite...we waited forever. The servers need to check with wait staff before delivery.
Food was very good, staff very nice. They were having a wine event which made the room noisier than normal. The noise didn't bother us but maybe the restaurant should notify people that have reservations when there is an event like that in case they were looking for a romantic dinner.
We had a nice dinner here last night. Really liked the Grilled Salmon and Asparagus. Great food, very attentive service. Also met some local friends who were dining there, as well.
Perfect meal pre nationals track meet race. Great menu with lots Of yummy options, wonderful personalized service. Thank you.
Jordan was our server - we had 8 women. He was fabulous! Attentive and professional and such a wonderful personality.
One of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Have never been disappointed, but this visit was even better than usual, as we brought friends from out of town.
The restaurant is lovely inside. The waitress was pretty much all business. The drinks were really good. Try their Dragonberry Mojito. Perfect summer drink. We ordered the eggplant appetizer which didn't come before the entrees so we asked the waitress to cancel it. There were only three other tables with customers at that time. The food was fine, just not memorable.
Our family favorite restaurant. My husband had the seabass, it was melt in your mouth delish. I had the garlic steak sandwich, it was cooked just as I requested. This place never disappoints.
Food was delicious and our server Joaquin excellent and helpful. Will definitely be back!
Service was excellent!
Food was good, pork a little tuff but the flavor and those capers/sauce and the rest were great!
Thank you thank you for yet another great meal and excellent service. This is my favorite place to bring friends and/or dine alone!!
Love their fish special on the weekend. Can always count
on it being great and many times terrific!
Food was OK. I had the veal and others had spaghetti and salmon salad. They also said the food was Ok, not great, but OK. The worst thing was the "beer wasn't cold enough". If you're going to serve beer serve it correctly.
Ambiance was lacking and overpriced. Disappointed that only acknowledgement for anniversary was “happy anniversary” welcome from the host. For the price ,atmosphere, and food my rating is below average. I will not be back and do not recommend.
Our dinners and the meal service were excellent. I rated the ambiance 4* because I felt the tables were too close together and it was noisy. Some people like noisy buzz, but I don't. Fortunately, diners at a few tables left, so the noise level went down.
Small comment, the bar service is slow. The last two times I have been to Vinoteca it took way too long to get our drinks, and the bar was not crowded either time.
Always a good last minute go to. Food and service are great. Good local place for Arden area.
