Cafe Vinoteca - Sacramento
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
Although we dine at Cafe Vinoteca on average only twice a year, we have never had a poor meal or an unfriendly greeting. We were celebrating my birthday and had reserved a particular table. It was great to know that we were given the table we had requested. Our waitress Cassandra was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the scallops which were grilled perfectly, served with roasted asparagus and creamy risotto. I still gave five stars for the food even though my husband said that his pasta carbonara was not al dente, he did eat it all 😉 because it was delicious.
The portions were more than substantial, I brought home most of my grilled romaine Gorgonzola salad and a large amount of my main course. We glanced at the desert menu but we knew we were more than full. We will return more often to Cafe Vinoteca.
The hostess greeted us right away, and sat just the 2 of us at the table for 5. Nice smile, friendly manner. One of our 3 guests joined us fairly quickly, and the waitress joined us to take a drink order. Our waitress was engaging, funny, and good at her job. When she was teased she handled it with grace and humor. And the food was solid. Everyone cleared their plate. The only issue was the restaurant was a little warm, but we didn't mention it to them.
Great place to eat with family and friends. Wonderful service and delicious food.
My husband and I both enjoyed the food, drinks and great service!! I have already bragged to my friends and family about how BOMB the food is here! We will definitely be coming back and can't wait to try something new from the menu. I am obsessed with the Risotto Cakes. They are amazing!!
Food is outstanding in every respect. Standard entrees are prepared with care and consistency. Great variety in starters. Decent wine selection. Only problem remains the coordination of the kitchen and wait staff. This time our entrees were delivered before we finished our salad/soup. Last time it was the opposite...we waited forever. The servers need to check with wait staff before delivery.
Food was very good, staff very nice. They were having a wine event which made the room noisier than normal. The noise didn't bother us but maybe the restaurant should notify people that have reservations when there is an event like that in case they were looking for a romantic dinner.
We had a nice dinner here last night. Really liked the Grilled Salmon and Asparagus. Great food, very attentive service. Also met some local friends who were dining there, as well.
Perfect meal pre nationals track meet race. Great menu with lots Of yummy options, wonderful personalized service. Thank you.
Jordan was our server - we had 8 women. He was fabulous! Attentive and professional and such a wonderful personality.
One of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Have never been disappointed, but this visit was even better than usual, as we brought friends from out of town.
The restaurant is lovely inside. The waitress was pretty much all business. The drinks were really good. Try their Dragonberry Mojito. Perfect summer drink. We ordered the eggplant appetizer which didn't come before the entrees so we asked the waitress to cancel it. There were only three other tables with customers at that time. The food was fine, just not memorable.
Our family favorite restaurant. My husband had the seabass, it was melt in your mouth delish. I had the garlic steak sandwich, it was cooked just as I requested. This place never disappoints.
Food was delicious and our server Joaquin excellent and helpful. Will definitely be back!
Service was excellent!
Food was good, pork a little tuff but the flavor and those capers/sauce and the rest were great!
Thank you thank you for yet another great meal and excellent service. This is my favorite place to bring friends and/or dine alone!!
Love their fish special on the weekend. Can always count
on it being great and many times terrific!
Food was OK. I had the veal and others had spaghetti and salmon salad. They also said the food was Ok, not great, but OK. The worst thing was the "beer wasn't cold enough". If you're going to serve beer serve it correctly.
Ambiance was lacking and overpriced. Disappointed that only acknowledgement for anniversary was “happy anniversary” welcome from the host. For the price ,atmosphere, and food my rating is below average. I will not be back and do not recommend.
Our dinners and the meal service were excellent. I rated the ambiance 4* because I felt the tables were too close together and it was noisy. Some people like noisy buzz, but I don't. Fortunately, diners at a few tables left, so the noise level went down.
Small comment, the bar service is slow. The last two times I have been to Vinoteca it took way too long to get our drinks, and the bar was not crowded either time.
Always a good last minute go to. Food and service are great. Good local place for Arden area.
Went with the kids, great options for them. Classic, fresh, Italian cuisine and save room for dessert
Service was good. Food was good not great. The flavor of the food was a little bland. Will give it another try, everyone has a off day.
Lovely ambiance! Great service, though the food was not outstanding—just okay. .
Memorial day weekend Saturday. Next to no one around; more staff than customers. Excellent service. Quiet ambiance.
The halibut and fried chicken were superb. Our waitress was a kick too.
Great service and great food! Fun atmosphere!
Cafe Vinoteca was a very. Nice place for Mother’s Day brunch. Good food, excellent service.
We visited for the first time with a group of 9. Overall, the visit was pleasant and most of the food was quite good. However, our seating arrangement was awkward--right at the front of the restaurant. It felt like we were squeezed into a walkway and in the way of servers and patrons coming in and out. It was also dim and noisy next to the kitchen--not ideal. We ordered salmon crostini and the antipasto plate--both were excellent. The entrees were largely great, especially the lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, and salmon alfredo. However, the food came up unevenly such that my husband's scallops were overdone and the risotto dry, while one person's pizza didn't come out until everyone else was almost done eating. I don't know that we'll be back with a large group again, but I'd come back for that lasagna in a heartbeat.
Only place in Sacramento I know of to get veal. It was awesome!
I had another quality meal at Vinoteca. The bacon, cheese and tomato sandwich was outstanding.
I love this restaurant. I took some guests there for dinner. Service was great and my guests food was fine. I ordered the chicken cannollini and is was both too salty and tasteless at the same time. Perhaps the menu needs a tune up. Wish I’d ordered spaghetti and meatballs.
Never fails to please. Love this place. Food is awesome and always prepared nicely. Service is the best. One complaint - get rid of the bread chunks. It poorly represents Italian styles of bread and frankly does not taste good. Parking also sucks.
We are from out of town and went to Vinoteca for a "date night". Our server, Jordan, was super attentive and on the ball with greeting us, drink refills, etc. We are pretty biased when it comes to Italian food as we have a favorite at home, but this place did not disappoint! The entrees were wonderful and the dessert even better. We even discussed making this "our place" whenever we are in town.
Never disappointed with the food! The waiter was very willing to change up an entry to be more protein driven. Very accommodating. A nice enjoyable Friday night dinner was had and we will be back again soon.
Ladies night out. Food was very good, nice for a neighborhood bistro
Have been here several times, and it is always reliable in terms of food quality. Generous portions, delicious pasta, and comes out piping hot. The waitstaff is consistently pleasant, and checks on you regularly.
Minor negative is the wait between the order and the delivery of food is a tad slow, but I hardly notice because I choose this restaurant to meet friends and enjoy the chance to chat. The atmosphere tends to be "local neighborhood" and subdued, so don't come here if you like noisy, high energy restaurants
As usual Cafe Vinoteca was excellent. I’ve never had a bad meal here, this includes my friend who is vegan. I would and have recommended Vinoteca to my friends and family. We will be back soon,
Great food and service. Would recommend and return
