Friday night 6 pm. Live music and dancing upstairs. A bit loud and difficult to hear and have conversation with table for 6. Great food and drink.
Had dinner with my husband and daughter last night and it was delicious!
Excellent food and very good service. The entrees are overpriced.
The food and service was great. They know what flavors compliments your main course. The presentation of the meal was well done.
Burrata is 20 bucks. Save your money. It was prepared and refrigerator and amounted to one slice of tomato with minimum cheese. Bolognese tasted funny. Had to ask for refills. It’s a shame as the ambience is quiet nice but the food wasn’t much. There are better options in the area for Italian food if the food is what you are looking for. If you are looking for drinks and entertainment then this is your place.
This was our first time at this location and were curious to see how it compared with the original location on Federal Hwy. We opted to sit downstairs where we could hear the live music and still be able to talk with each other.
The service was very good. The food was delicious. Ordered Caprese for the appetizer. My husband ordered the Grilled salmon with mushrooms and I ordered the Chicken Marsala. Ordered Chianti with the meal. The portions were substantial.
We shared Tiramisu for dessert. Just yummy!
I am so glad that it was a wonderful experience and since it is within walking distance we will go there often.
The food was excellent but the service was average. It took a very long time for the entrees to come out and the waiter was not very attentive. The music and food were very good!
We were very happy with the food and service and phenomenal entertainment by It Takes Two but there is not enough room on the dance floor with a big piano sitting there taking valuable space. We were being shoved since so many people were on the dance floor, I think a manager should stop people from dancing with wine glasses on the dance floor. Can't the owner consider putting the piano to the side of the dance floor and leave the dance floor for it's purpose - dancers?
Music upstairs is far too loud.
Great meal at Cafe Vico - had the ossobucco, just terrific....... ate upstairs where there was live music.
We went to their new location and the food was just as good as the original restaurant. We really enjoyed the entertainment. Will go back again!
we're excited for Marco and the team with this new location.
Still new so it was a bit quiet but the great service and delicious food have carried over from the original location.
the guys had the Tomahawk steak and cleaned them to the bone. i love the pasta with pears and it was amazing.
like the bar upstairs and look forward to it being full soon!
I can see as it gets busier, we'll have to plan on valet parking as not many spots in that plaza.
Great experience. There seemed to be a mix up in kitchen because our meals took a bit longer than the kids but overall great time.
We really enjoyed our meal. Meatball appetizer was excellent. Veal and pasta entrees very good. Our waitress was really great as well. We will be back!
A great addition to the neighborhood. Good and service are excellent and they have live music upstairs some evenings. A fun night out!
I think service will become much better once they work some of the bugs out.
This was our first visit to the Ocean Blvd location and our second visit to Cafe Vico. It did not disappoint. The service was great, the food was delicious and the atmosphere comfortable. We could hear the live music from upstairs, but at a comfortable level where it did not disturb our conversation. We'll definitely be back.
OK, I was truly disappointed with almost everything: table cloth had wine stains, fork on the floor, and the food was undeniably less tasty than original restaurant Cafe Vico on Sunrise Blvd: either too greasy, luke warm or prepared with less love. And lastly, the piano player was nothing short of a skit from Saturday Night Live. Oh well, we'll stick to the original Cafe Vico on Sunrise going forward.
We ate downstairs, as upstairs was much too loud for conversation, given the amplified piano playing and singing. Food was reasonably good but not outstanding. Service was considerate and kind. Upstairs has a nice large bar and a dance floor -- and quite a few tables for dining ( for those who don't want to talk!) Drinks upstairs were excellent.
The crowd here was mostly lively seniors.
Always a great place with great food and the best service. Marco pays attention to every detail, Jackie makes the best drinks, and Genero, Gerry, and Raphael are the best servers.
Not a good enough dinner with so much else to choose from in the area. Mediocre food, service was uninterested, and mainly empty. It is new, so likely has kinks to work out. Hope they do.
Great Happy Hour with live entertainment & dancing!!! The HH food was fantastic. We had the lamb lollypops (4) and the mini meatballs (4) both were excellent!
Wonderful menu. Just like the original. Fresh and delicious.
We have always loved going to CafeVico and were excited to try their new location. They kept their high standards although they they did have a limited menu. I wanted their clams casino or artichokes but they were not on the menu yet. I did love my carbanara and chicken parm.
We went for the live music and really enjoyed the singer and song selections but the music was way too loud. I don’t like to shout to have a conversation with the person next to me. We had great service at the bar from Joan and really enjoyed the lasagna. It was a top notch experience other than the music being too loud.
Tables were tight and small
Service was slow and poor
Food was tasty and value amount (portion size) for the money — overall average and not spectacular … nothing special
Arrived for a 730PM dinner reservation. Made reservation 8 days prior on Open Table. Directed by the owner to ascend the stairs to the upstairs seating area. This was expected since only upstairs required reservations by the previous owner. Has something changed. No info during the open table reservation. Open Table member for 7 years. Upon reaching upstairs we were ignored by multiple servers and there was no host stand. I finally approached a server who was near the kitchen door. He looked around and
There were no visible tables. He finally attempted to seat us at a high top table right next to the bar. In almost desperation we started to take the high top bar table and realized we were seated within 8 inches of the bar stools and touching the people at the bar, as well as in the pathway of people walking back and forth to the dance floor. This was a milestone anniversary for my wife and I. Unacceptable. The Open Table app does not isolate fine dining and entertainment reservation from casual dining downstairs. Big problem. Probably other patrons just show up early without reservations and it is first come first serve. I can’t remember being so humiliated and angry over a dinner reservation. I waited 15 minutes downstairs and was ignored at the downstairs register and was never able to see the owner who had sent us unescorted upstairs.
We resorted to a last minute reservation at Mario’s Catalina. Great food, but not the entertainment experience I planned. Cafe Vico, for us as described was a very disappointing experience. Although we are 5 minutes away and enjoy fine dining and music, we will never go back. When I arrive for a dinner reservation, I expect to be greeted and seated. It is my choice to order well, pay big and tip well. Looks like Cafe Vico caters to walk ins. Not my idea of fine dining. At their prices anyone should expect much much more.
The room is shabby, the service was slow and the food was not prepared well. We will not go back again.
Cafe Vico has always been one of our favorite restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. We are so excited that the chef has opened a new location on Ocean Blvd which is much more convenient for us. The food is as outstanding as ever! The service was fine, could use a little finesse, but for having just opened, things ran very smoothly.
Food was excellent. Service on arrival was good. As tables filled up, service became extremely slow. Table of 6 next to us waited almost 2 hours for entrees. Another table sent food back because it was cold. It appeared to have 1 waiter for 13 tables with a few bussers who were not used to bussing. Also very noisy. It seemed like Everyone was shouting . Not recommended for a quiet relaxed experience. Because of the quality and flavor of the food, we will definitely give it another try perhaps on a week night
We went at 5pm. Thought we would be upstairs with piano but it was closed for renovations. Disappointing! We were seated downstairs with no atmosphere at all until they closed the blinds and lit candles on the tables at 6pm. Told our waiter it was our anniversary. No congrats. No personality. He was just doing his job! I know they recently opened and they need time to get it together. Food was excellent & served piping hot! We will return in a month when things should be better.
