They did not set up their reservations on open table so it looked like they had plenty of time slots open. Arrived and they asked if we had a reservation, said no so I quickly booked one, then was told they are fully booked and did not log their open table reservations so they won’t count. So we were offered two seats at the bar. The bartender was also taking orders at the tables so he was extremely busy. There was a women who sat at the bar as well right next to me and was never acknowledged. She left and came back and waited again at the bar and still was never served. She left after possibly 30 minutes of waiting since we ate our appetizer and received our entrees in that time. We had to ask whenever we wanted something since the server was too busy to check on us. The pastas dishes are great. The protein dishes are very tiny and the veal dish looked like a kids portion.
Loved and enjoyed our evening.
Food was great.
The food was terrific! Excellent service. The cost was reasonable.
Food was great as usual!
Every time we get up to that area for a medical appointment, this is our go-to-place for a late lunch. There are always familiar faces, a nice atmosphere, and delicious food. I only wish it were closer to where we lived so that we could frequent it more often.
The bruschetta is a nice feature along with delicious bread to enjoy while waiting for dinners to be prepared. My seafood dish comprised of shrimp, clams and mussels in a light red sauce was very good. My husband was happy with veal parm.
My wife and I went out for dinner. We’ve been there a couple of times. Great value for the price. Portions were very good and the taste was excellent. This is definitely a regular stop for us on our dinner circuit.
Best Italian restaurant in the Greater Wilkes-barre/Scranton area!!
We had an outstanding experience and were here for Valentines Day. The atmosphere we quiet and the restaurant made us feel welcomed and tookCovid precautions by spacing the tables far apart. The noise level was low and enjoyable since my wife and I could talk to each other at a normal level.
The service was great. The wait staff was attentive and not falling all over us. The water was refilled without asking, in fact there was nothing that we needed that was not provided or that we had to wait for.
As for the food, it was excellent. My wife had veal sorrentino and I had the shrimp Toscano. The veal was served in a red sauce and the shrimp was prepared with mushrooms with fresh vegetables and potatoes. Both dishes were served piping hot and the presentation invited us to enjoy the foods hock we did.
Having eaten all over the world including restaurants all over Italy, Cafe Toscano represents the best of Italy and we would highly recommend you give it a try. You will NOT be disappointed.
Food was amazing. Our white wine was a little warm. Other than that it was great experience.
We had a lovely experience here. My husband had the branzino, I had the veal chop. Both were cooked to perfection. Drinks were yummy and the service was attentive.
So happy this place has reopened for indoor dining.
Had lamb chops. They were tough, plus portion was half the size than they used to serve like 6 years ago. Back then you would get like 4 or 5 lamb chaps for 1 person and they would be about 3” thick. They were delicious. Now you get 6 chops about an inch or less thick. I was very disappointed.
As always, we had great food and service. Fantastic!
I have dined at this restaurant numerous times during the past 5 years. I had a 7 PM reservation for 10/21/20 and requested a window table. When we arrived at 6:40 we asked if we could be seated earlier then our reservation time. We were seated at a table that had not yet been set up. Water glasses were put on the table. For 20 minutes no one came to the table. No water, no menus, nothing. We had to call the waiter to come to the table. His response ‘Your reservation was for 7:00’. no apology, just a sarcastic remark. This was not appreciated and we will think carefully about whether we will return to this restaurant.
The food was amazing, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant itself was very appealing. Not too pricey either
Food was decent. Chicken tasted like it was previously frozen, however. Service was not very good at all despite only 1 other table in the restaurant being served. Don’t think we’ll be back.
Very large menu. Every meal I have eaten there has been excellent. Ambience is very relaxing.
I always enjoy the food and ambiance at Cafe Toscana. That's why we always return.
The food was good, prices were reasonable, the ambience was great. The lead waiter could have been a little more attentive but, on the whole, this was a good experience.
My favorite place for Italian food. My 3 cheese with spinach were excellent. I would highly recommend Cafe Tuscana as I ate there plenty of times and never had a bad meal.
Need to have better attention from main service staff, the backup staff did a great job.
Great downtown destination for Italian cuisine. Larger and very well dressed salad that could be a dinner by itself. Main courses included a potato and vegetable. Dinner for 2 will average $50 to $75 depending in drinks and desert choices. Recommended!
Always great service and awesome food!
Food quality was generally very good. Had an appetizer order of clams that didn’t taste right that was taken off the bill. Another person in our party had the same clam appetizer order and his tasted just fine. Weird right? Everyone enjoyed their entrées. Service was good but not outstanding.
We plan to give the restaurant another visit.
Service was great and food was very good.
I have had some fabulous meals here but not this trip. My caesar salad did not have enough dressing on it to taste. The beautifully shaved parmesan was dry and there were four croutons on the salad. My risotto with mushrooms and brandy sauce also did not have enough sauce which made the risotto rather sticky, however the flavor was good. We sat in a very crowded, very warm room, when there were empty tables available. Then we had to track down someone to pay our bill. Unfortunately, we will not go back. I have never given a bad restaurant review, I hope for their sake they step it up because they used to serve much better meals.
Not made to feel welcomed at all. Not enough waitstaff that night which was when the Kirby Center was hosting The Nutcracker. They had to know or should have known that. Every table was taken and I understand it was busy but when I got there deliberately early, only one table was taken with customers. We were ignored for the first 15 minutes. The food and drink were terrific but service stunk! Not asked if we wanted any more drinks or dessert or anything. It’s a shame because the Chef does an excellent job. Not one smile on any of the workers in the dining room.
We really enjoyed the great authentic Tuscan food and a great service. Reasonable prices and you get a lot of food. There was a large party next table and was very lively but good to see people having a good time.
Highly recommend it.
My favorite place in Wilkes barre
It was OK. Food was warm. Environment was pleasant. Staff were friendly.
Great food, so so service.
Great food. Fantastic service. Bruschetta to start is outstanding. Scallops are the best! Cod, shrimp and mussels in light tomato sauce was super. A great choice.
Food was good. Wine was good. Attention to detail by the wait staff needs to improve.
I would come back to this restaurant 9 out of 10 times. Really enjoyed the meal.
perfect as usual. good food, good wine and great service
Always a great meal. Wonderful staff and the perfect location when attending an event at the Kirby Center.
Very good food at really reasonable prices. Only hiccup was the baked clams....they switched to littleneck clams so you get 6 really small littlenecks in an order. Just not correct. The pasta dishes are very good. Veal saltimboca was excellent. Well priced wine list.
