The salmon was not fresh.
Excellent food and service
We ordered the meatballs and crab cake for appetizers.
I ordered the clams with pasta and it was very good. Pasta was el dente and there was a good amount of clams.
Got together with friends for dinner on a week night in late March. We sat indoors.
I was surprised to see my check being more expensive than I remembered ordering. After reviewing the check, every other dish was up charged up to 8 dollars and their excuse was that “we still have prices from our winter menu” even though it was April at the time. This incidence was completely unprofessional and their resolution to the problem was absent.
Always get a great meal and wonderful Italian food. Have enjoyed eating here every time I am in San Francisco - over a 30 year period!
On a sunny day, you can't beat lunch tucked inside an alley in the densely populated SF Financial District. Beldon Place has a lot of spots and Tiramisu has always been a favorite. The service was excellent. Quick, attentive, and intuitive. Our server anticipated our every need. Crab cakes very good. Pasta al dente but a little oily over brothy for the linguine alla vongole. Coffee was delicious.
Everything was fine. Been to Tiramisu on other occasions. We had to wait 15 to 20 minutes for our lunch. Not ideal since lunch time is limited.
Fantastic octopus appetizer best yet, my Petrale sole was to die for! Dessert was so yummy will be back!!! Can’t believe I’ve never eaten here before
The grilled octopus and the housemade canonical. OMG.
The experience was better than expected. The service was excellent , you cannot ask for a better server who was so accommodating with splitting a course or even a drink without us asking , just a lovely place to return to knowing that the food and service would not disappoint.
None of the pretentious attitudes that is so prevalent one experience dining out these days.
I saw a review for CT on Check Please, and it looked bright, lively, and the food was highly rated. After arriving at CT, I found things had changed. First, the good news - Our server was very good, personable, but not pushy. The food is delicious, beautifully prepared and plated. We loved the lamb (!) ricotta raviolis, and my ragout was delicious. Unfortunately, the Tiramisu was just average - and at $10 a real disappointment. Prices were very fair (except dessert!).
While, our server was friendly and knowledgeable, the manager or maitre de, was extremely rude. We were seated at a table near the door and directly along the path from bar and kitchen to table - so very busy/noisy. After we were seated for a few minutes we realized how incredibly cold and noisy it was. The restaurant was only half full, so I politely and apologetically requested another table. The manager scowled, didn't say a word, turned away from me, then grabbed some more menus, and stomped to the back of the restaurant and hurriedly put down new menus at our new table, then brushed past me without a word. While he spent the evening going from table to table talking to guests, he pointedly ignored us - and we were clearly the largest party, spending the most money in the place! My adult son was certain that this man was going to spit in our food. All this because he needed to reset a table in a restaurant that was only half full? Our server did his best, but he was the only server and so things went slowly. The place (especially the back tables) was very dark, and there was no ambiance to the place that had looked so very appealing on Check Please. For God's sake, buys some candles! What was suppose to be a warm, welcoming Italian atmosphere, seemed a lot more like Eastern Europe in the dead of winter due to the frosty manager and the darkness. (and I've spent time in both, so I know!) . I'll never return, which is sad, because the meal was good and prices fair.
great food pastas, soup and salad was fantastic.
Great place to grab dinner after work or before a show
service was friendly and very good.
we enjoyed the eggplant soup, veal raviolis, and the pork scallopini.
we ended our meal with a nice cappuccino and biscotti
The namesake Tiramisu is fantastic! Quaint place with a great staff and lovely Italian food. A little gem!
The place has a terrible smell that hits you when you walk in. We thought about turning around and leaving. Smells like a sewage pipe backed up. The kitchen is in the front and there is a lot of banging. There was a guy carrying pots and pans up and down the steps. The food was average. The wine pours were small and fairly expensive. Service was average.
Tiramisu just became one of my favorite spots. All of the food was delicious and made me want to eat forever (I left stuffed). The service was perfect and I felt like royalty. Could not have asked for anything more, I hope we get to come back soon. Thank you Tiramisu!
The atmosphere is great. It's does not get as loud as other SF restaurants. The services is always friendly and attentive. It's a great special occasion place.
Cafe Tiramisu is one of our few Destination dining places -- the culinary skills of the chefs and the attentive service consistently merit praiseworthy groans from sedated and delightful tummies. I suggest paying close attention to any specials that are being offered during a selective service - some of these culinary excursions will reward the palate a multi-dimensional taste explosion carefully orchestrated to provide a delicious symphony of calories that will result with enduring and memorable dining chronicles. Our last visit featured a seafood pasta that was spiced to perfection and well punctuated with fresh seafood. We've enjoyed many versions of seafood pasta - Cafe Tiramisu's dish soared to a blue ribbon winner.
This place was so great so glad I found it on open table. The waiter was fantastic really entertaining and we loved the food.
This was a last minute decision to meet up with friends for dinner & we were not disappointed.
The best! Like a taste if Italy...!................................................................................................... ..
Tiramisu was one of the best I have ever tasted and I have tasted many around the world. Delicious food!!
One of my favorite Italian restaurants in San Francisco. I have been going to Cafe Tiramisu for 10 yearsadiamnever disappointed.
They had changed their menu since I was last there late last year. I ate here twice last week, noticed that they removed quite a lot of the items from their menu and no more prixe fixe 3 course lunches either. They raised their prices also. For about the same amount, you get a much tastier menu and better selection at Café Bastille. Sadly, I have to remove Tiramisu from my preferred list of lunch restaurants close to my office.
Portions were on the low side. Same with drinks. But overall, the quality of food and service was good.
The halibut dish on squid ink risotto was excellent! Service by Antonio is the BEST in San Francisco by any waiter, hands down. Great place for authentic Italian food and a wonderful selection of wines.
Food and presentation was fabulous. Crab chowder had big chunks of crab and was well seasoned. Chicken over pumpkin purée was moist and tasty. Service was quick and friendly.
It felt like A Sunday lunch in Italy. An Italian gentlemen (I assume he was the owner), was very engaging , an authentic Italian.
celebrated bd party of 5 for dinner
everyone loved their choice + great salads
friendly waiter matias
wd certainly return
Just ok. Food was below average
The smell of the bathroom when I entered the door never left my nasal passsge. The bruschetta tasted like tomato paste. And the wine glasses were dirty. I expected more in San Francisco in a business district.
the best italian food in san francisco. bar none. one of the best sf restaurants overall.
One of our favorite places to eat in SF. Our party had swordfish, salmon and ravioli, everything was delicious! The service is impeccable.
I took my best client to Cafe Tiramisu for Christmas lunch. There were 12 of us but we could have seated 17. The restaurant is charmingly authentic northern Tuscany and the food is wonderful. The oysters had just come 10 minutes before us and the grilled octopus is a must have. Filet of sole pan fried, Golden Brown with crispy skin served with a Buerre BLANC sauce. Desserts were fabulous, every one. Tony himself waited our table and kept the Prosecco and Pinot flowing. It was intimate enough that we could talk comfortably. Definitely recommend this restaurant and if you haven’t been to Beldon Place you are in for a treat.
Had dinner here on a very busy Saturday night before Christmas. The place was jammed with large groups which made it very noisy but we got a nice table in a relatively quiet corner so that worked out well. The food here is always creative and excellent. I had pan seared halibut on a bed of short rib risotto - not a combo I would expect or seek out but it worked very well. Everyone’s food in my group of three was top notch, including the cinnamon and almond biscotti we shared for dessert. My one complaint is that their wine list carries only very expensive selections - I saw only three bottles priced under $100. Service was unexpectedly good Saturday given the size of the crowd and has been efficient and attentive every time I’ve been there. I always recommend Cafe Tiramisu to out of town visitors looking for really good Italian food outside of the North Beach hustle and bustle.
We love this restaurant. We made 5 reservations in the city and ended up with this one. We're very glad we did because the food was delicious, authentic Italian food. We came here for our son birthday with friends and family. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. We will come back to this restaurant for sure. Service also was great. The food came out quickly for a party of 20.
We ate at Cafe Tiramisu once before. At that time, they were short on wait staff and the service was slow. We decided to give them another try and again, they were short on wait staff. The service was incredibly slow and we didn’t get all the items that were ordered. Never did a manager or owner come over to apologize or say anything about our slow service. I asked our waiter if there was an owner or manager there and he pointed to a man in a vest and said he’s the owner. As we left I spoke to him and he denied that he was the owner and said he was short on staff and there wasn’t anything he could do. He acted like he really didn’t care. Needless to say, we will not be going back. We suggested the restaurant to our friends and we were extremely embarrassed. The food is good, but they appear to have recurring issues with staffing and service.
The sppetizers were great. Soup of the day was delicious and the pasta was authentic. If you want Italian like you’re in Italy (and we have been there), this is the place to go.
Anniversary dinner! Excellent food service and experience!
It had been a couple of years since I'd been to this restaurant. There were only 3 tables occupied at 6:00 despite the nice weather. The food was okay nothing special for the prices. There are too many good Italian restaurants in the city to return to this one.
