The namesake Tiramisu is fantastic! Quaint place with a great staff and lovely Italian food. A little gem!
The place has a terrible smell that hits you when you walk in. We thought about turning around and leaving. Smells like a sewage pipe backed up. The kitchen is in the front and there is a lot of banging. There was a guy carrying pots and pans up and down the steps. The food was average. The wine pours were small and fairly expensive. Service was average.
Tiramisu just became one of my favorite spots. All of the food was delicious and made me want to eat forever (I left stuffed). The service was perfect and I felt like royalty. Could not have asked for anything more, I hope we get to come back soon. Thank you Tiramisu!
The atmosphere is great. It's does not get as loud as other SF restaurants. The services is always friendly and attentive. It's a great special occasion place.
Cafe Tiramisu is one of our few Destination dining places -- the culinary skills of the chefs and the attentive service consistently merit praiseworthy groans from sedated and delightful tummies. I suggest paying close attention to any specials that are being offered during a selective service - some of these culinary excursions will reward the palate a multi-dimensional taste explosion carefully orchestrated to provide a delicious symphony of calories that will result with enduring and memorable dining chronicles. Our last visit featured a seafood pasta that was spiced to perfection and well punctuated with fresh seafood. We've enjoyed many versions of seafood pasta - Cafe Tiramisu's dish soared to a blue ribbon winner.
This place was so great so glad I found it on open table. The waiter was fantastic really entertaining and we loved the food.
This was a last minute decision to meet up with friends for dinner & we were not disappointed.
The best! Like a taste if Italy...!................................................................................................... ..
Tiramisu was one of the best I have ever tasted and I have tasted many around the world. Delicious food!!
One of my favorite Italian restaurants in San Francisco. I have been going to Cafe Tiramisu for 10 yearsadiamnever disappointed.
They had changed their menu since I was last there late last year. I ate here twice last week, noticed that they removed quite a lot of the items from their menu and no more prixe fixe 3 course lunches either. They raised their prices also. For about the same amount, you get a much tastier menu and better selection at Café Bastille. Sadly, I have to remove Tiramisu from my preferred list of lunch restaurants close to my office.
Portions were on the low side. Same with drinks. But overall, the quality of food and service was good.
The halibut dish on squid ink risotto was excellent! Service by Antonio is the BEST in San Francisco by any waiter, hands down. Great place for authentic Italian food and a wonderful selection of wines.
Food and presentation was fabulous. Crab chowder had big chunks of crab and was well seasoned. Chicken over pumpkin purée was moist and tasty. Service was quick and friendly.
It felt like A Sunday lunch in Italy. An Italian gentlemen (I assume he was the owner), was very engaging , an authentic Italian.
celebrated bd party of 5 for dinner
everyone loved their choice + great salads
friendly waiter matias
wd certainly return
Just ok. Food was below average
The smell of the bathroom when I entered the door never left my nasal passsge. The bruschetta tasted like tomato paste. And the wine glasses were dirty. I expected more in San Francisco in a business district.
the best italian food in san francisco. bar none. one of the best sf restaurants overall.
One of our favorite places to eat in SF. Our party had swordfish, salmon and ravioli, everything was delicious! The service is impeccable.
I took my best client to Cafe Tiramisu for Christmas lunch. There were 12 of us but we could have seated 17. The restaurant is charmingly authentic northern Tuscany and the food is wonderful. The oysters had just come 10 minutes before us and the grilled octopus is a must have. Filet of sole pan fried, Golden Brown with crispy skin served with a Buerre BLANC sauce. Desserts were fabulous, every one. Tony himself waited our table and kept the Prosecco and Pinot flowing. It was intimate enough that we could talk comfortably. Definitely recommend this restaurant and if you haven’t been to Beldon Place you are in for a treat.
Had dinner here on a very busy Saturday night before Christmas. The place was jammed with large groups which made it very noisy but we got a nice table in a relatively quiet corner so that worked out well. The food here is always creative and excellent. I had pan seared halibut on a bed of short rib risotto - not a combo I would expect or seek out but it worked very well. Everyone’s food in my group of three was top notch, including the cinnamon and almond biscotti we shared for dessert. My one complaint is that their wine list carries only very expensive selections - I saw only three bottles priced under $100. Service was unexpectedly good Saturday given the size of the crowd and has been efficient and attentive every time I’ve been there. I always recommend Cafe Tiramisu to out of town visitors looking for really good Italian food outside of the North Beach hustle and bustle.
We love this restaurant. We made 5 reservations in the city and ended up with this one. We're very glad we did because the food was delicious, authentic Italian food. We came here for our son birthday with friends and family. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. We will come back to this restaurant for sure. Service also was great. The food came out quickly for a party of 20.
We ate at Cafe Tiramisu once before. At that time, they were short on wait staff and the service was slow. We decided to give them another try and again, they were short on wait staff. The service was incredibly slow and we didn’t get all the items that were ordered. Never did a manager or owner come over to apologize or say anything about our slow service. I asked our waiter if there was an owner or manager there and he pointed to a man in a vest and said he’s the owner. As we left I spoke to him and he denied that he was the owner and said he was short on staff and there wasn’t anything he could do. He acted like he really didn’t care. Needless to say, we will not be going back. We suggested the restaurant to our friends and we were extremely embarrassed. The food is good, but they appear to have recurring issues with staffing and service.
The sppetizers were great. Soup of the day was delicious and the pasta was authentic. If you want Italian like you’re in Italy (and we have been there), this is the place to go.
Anniversary dinner! Excellent food service and experience!
It had been a couple of years since I'd been to this restaurant. There were only 3 tables occupied at 6:00 despite the nice weather. The food was okay nothing special for the prices. There are too many good Italian restaurants in the city to return to this one.
Have always enjoyed this little place tucked away on Belden Lane...food is terrific and the wait staff on spot on. Dessert is delicious, this time it was the tiramisu, yum yum!
Celebrated our anniversary there on Saturday. Delicious appetizers and main course as well as tiramisu for dessert! The Italian wine was wonderful, too
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. Everyone thought it was great. Everyone loved the clams and mussels dish. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
The food is outstanding!!! The owner Giuseppe and is staff give excellent service!!!!
Dinner was wonderful, always feel like I'm visiting family. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Started with the grilled octopus which was cooked perfectly and was light and the lemon vinaigrette was a nice touch. My husband ordered his favorite homemade pappardelle pasta with 3-meat Bolognese (beef, veal and pork), our friend had the Salmon (perfectly cooked and flaky) and I had their Petrale Sole that was light pan fried, jalapeno risotto with crab meat and lemon piccata sauce. All dishes were very good and fresh. Seafod is delivered in the morning, never frozen and fresh on a bed of ice. We topped the dinner off with their homemade lemoncello and it was the perfect palate cleanser, just enough sweetness to balance the fresh lemon taste. We visit Café Tiramisu every time we are in San Francisco (every year) and we can't get enough of their homemade pasta (best pappardelle and gnocchi) and fresh seafood dishes.
Food was average, service about the same. Of the restaurants on belden place, id chose others again first. Nice spot for a warmer sf day; ask to sit outside. My friends fish was undercooked; instead of cooking her a fresh piece, they recooked the same.
Great italian, san francisco style. Been there dozens of times, always excellent food, gracious service. In Belden Alley with plenty of outside seating, or inside is nice and cozy.
I have been their regular since the late 80's and food has always been good . I would recommend to everyone who likes fresh seafood.
Hidden down an alley, we wouldn’t have found this place without a recommendation! The food was great. The owner is a friendly, fun guy.
Our table was dark because the light bulb was burned. I have been here 3 times the food is consistent and the server are nice.
Wonderful setting - feels very European. Food is authentic and very well prepared.
We each had an appetizer and then shared an entree. Staff is friendly, and owner Giuseppe is a kick. Ciao.
