About Cafe Thirty-A
Café Thirty-A is a casual fine-dining restaurant featuring grilled and fire roasted seafood, meats and poultry, wood-oven pizza, vegetarian fare and hedonistic, "architectural" desserts. The menu changes daily according to availability of ingredients. Fine wines and cocktails--including a creative menu of the best martinis in the area--complement the meal. The ambiance is open, casual, "islandy," yet sophisticated, with vaulted ceilings, upside-down market umbrellas, hand painted chairs, intimate lighting and half-wall dividers creating the atmosphere. Patrons often state, "It just makes you feel good to walk in here!" It's a fun, happening place to dine - with impeccable, yet unpretentious, service. Recent and ongoing awards are: Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, Florida Trend Golden Spoon Award, North American Restaurant Association Five-Star Award of Excellence, NW Florida Daily News “Restaurant of the Year.” Private dining for 25-80 is available upstairs in the Fishbone

Cafe Thirty-A Ratings and Reviews
Our second visit here, first one was much better. I had the tuna poke for appetizer and I thought the tuna was cut too big and nothing “wow” tasting in that appetizer. The corn bisque was just ok as well. I had the lobster Mac & cheese and although the lobster was cooked perfectly, the cheese had no great flavor. My husband had the flounder which was also just ok. All in all, the atmosphere and service are wonderful but the food on this visit was lackluster this time.
Great food, bartenders were knowledgeable and professional, fun crowd.
Unfortunately the gentleman at the host stand who claimed he was a manager was not to the standard I’m sure the owners and remaining staff hold themselves to. My wife and I didn’t have a reservation as we walked in. It was a Friday evening so surely we expected to wait. He said the wait would be about 3 hours and we proceeded to put my name down on the waiting list. My wife and I walked over to the bar area to enjoy drinks where I hopped on the opentable app to find an available reservation 30 mins later. Upon booking the reservation I walked over to the same gentleman asking him to remove my name from the waitlist since I was able to make a reservation. He told me that he sees my reservation in the system but will not be able to accommodate us. When I asked him why and that I had a confirmation from opentable, he says “someone might have canceled and I’m not sure what’s going on upstairs but I don’t have a table for you”. I was appalled. It makes sense for someone to cancel a reservation hence the time was available on opentable. Upstairs? What does that even mean? I asked him if this is the level of customer service people should expect at Cafe Thirty-A which he responds to with reiterating that he doesn’t have a table for my wife and I. No apology, no sympathy or anything. Luckily while I was at the hostess stand my wife was able to secure a couple of spots for us at the bar where we enjoyed great drinks, food and service from the bartenders.
For those who make a reservation on opentable, I recommend calling the restaurant to ensure they have a table for you.
Cafe 30A never disappoints. In an area where reliability of a restaurant can be difficult, Cafe 30A consistently has delicious food and outstanding service. I tried the crab cakes for the first time which were 95% crab meat and 5% Panko crumbs and they were soooo good. Hubby got short ribs and loved them. We had banana beignets for dessert which were a perfect finale. We are locals and this is a fav - have tried most of the menu and you can’t go wrong.
Very crowded for BOGO from 5pm to 6pm. You get what you pay for, the price with the BOGO was about what each entre was worth.
Although the staff dressed very formally many of the customers dressed "beach casual".
The overall atmosphere was not very enjoyable.
Would rather pay top end and dine with those that know appropriate dress for evening dining.
Would not recommend unless on a tight budget.
This our favorite dining spot on 30A. We have been here dozens of times and have never had a bad experience! Our server was very attentive without being bothersome. We had the snapper, the Pheasant and the crab cakes and all were delicious! We will definetly be back the next visit to 30A.
30-A has been consistently well run with delicious food for as long as I have been going...around 30 years. The atmosphere is clean, crisp and white with fun ceiling umbrellas. Ladies, bring a sweater. It's cool inside. The fish is fresh ,but I can't pass up the quail and grits. I either have it as an appetizer or order a dinner portion. Do not miss it! A bonus is the valet parking.
