'Hard to be critical of wonderful food, service, etc.
While we don't mean to be negative, our positive, but hopefully constructive comments...Sunday evening, we were seated on the beautiful patio (We MIGHT have been offered that as an option) but, both of us being hard of hearing just understood that was here our reservation assigned us.
Wind was blowing, temperature was dipping. Noticing 6 propane heaters, we asked if our might be lit. We were told "they'd try, but the night before, there were only 2 of 'em working. Both our cool dude server and the gracious hostess tried to ignite one, No Success! They had to leave (no problem) they had'da lot of other guests to serve...'promised to come back to try some more. 'Never happened! 'Totally understandable...your indoor dining areas were VERY busy and they were doing an excellent job or caring for all your patrons. It was, however...knowing that Oregon Spring weather isn't always balmy in April....and knowing that the previous nite only 2 of the 6 propane heaters were operational, disappointing that management had not either closed the COLD patio, refilled propane tanks or trained busy staff on proper heater lighting procedures.
The hostess was gracious, the server was caring, professional and FUN and the food was wonderful! 'Too bad we left with satisfied appetites, but chilled bodies. Perhaps a couple more jalapenos in the jambalaya would have warmed us up a bit
Again, this is not complaining, merely observing. And, we WILL be back...Next time, carefully listening to see if patio seating is an option or an assignment.

We sat in a place, was it the bar? Was it the restaurant? Service was sporadic, meaning the pacing was poor. They showed every other table their desserts. They just Asked us if we wanted dessert, when we asked what they had, the waitress mumbled a few things.
First rate food and service. Menu changes from time to time so there are new dishes to try. Specials also offer delicious alternatives. Staff is friendly and helpful. Chef Ib is in a class by himself! Frank & Mary, Eugene, OR.
Delighted with the service and food. The wine selection was very nice. It felt like a neighborhood cafe and we loved that.
odd the hostess let me know when I arrived early 15 minutes that the waitress was not there and I needed to wait at the bar? Tables were open, then after 5 minutes seated me and again let me know no servers were not available yet...she let the table next to us know this too,...it was odd and they should not book reservations if a waitress is not available or make excuses. Just fill in and help. Food was still great as usual with a bit slow on service.
Excellent food and service, our server Kayla was very attentive and explained things very well. The main shrimp dish was outstanding, my partner had a wonderful goat cheese salad with the hummus/baba ganouche/pita/olive plate, all delicious and large servings.
Wednesday evening, 7PM reservation (first visit). EXCELLENT duck entree, my date had the shrimp small plate morphed into entree (also extremely tasty). Vegetables VERY overcooked. Scrumptious potatoes and mediocre rice crowded our plates (too large proportions for gourmet restaurant). The charming old house had tables crammed together in our area, no escaping a loud party of 10 nearby. The lengthy wait for our bottle of wine was surprising given the restaurant's reputation; our wait staff was not wine-knowledgable and had misrepresented the recommendation; corrected after consulting bartender (the choice was delightful (thanks bartender).
Would we return? Sure! Especially for the fabulous duck and quaint setting. Romantic. Maybe better service and vegetables next time.
All portions of the food were over dressed from the salad to the beef and Salmon. There were flys all over the place and the bathroom was a bit disgusting.
Though we strive for perfection in our service/food quality, every once in a while we miss the ball. We apologize and hope that you will give us another chance.
One of our favorites, and we always have a good experience here. Especially loved the beet salad, and appreciate the opportunities for half-size salads.
Very tasteful, quiet and cozy room. Very well-prepared food. Prices commensurate with other "fine dining" restaurants in Eugene. Service was appropriately attentive and timed. Definitely recommend.

Although food was good, 3 of the 4 dishes arrived cold to our table. Server was very good with excellent customer service.
Second time coming to Cafe Soriah and I can't say enough about the overall experience. Wait staff were so polite, cocktails were delicious, and the food was...incredible. The calamari was some of the best either of us had either had. Considering the atmosphere, the experience, and the food: incredible value
Excellent, delicious, dependable food. Great atmosphere. Not inexpensive. Service could be faster/more attentive but it’s fine if you are on a date or not in any kind of hurry. It’s a bit slow. But in general, going to Soriah is always a treat.
The food is excellent. I like the duck but the steak diane is special. My wife thought the current recipe for the ravioli (3/19/2019) was the best ravioli she has ever tasted. Chef Ib is an attentive host. Service is excellent with experienced staff.

We felt the price was extravagant for the food we were given.
The dessert,especially, consisting of canned peaches and a scoop of ice cream with a may-be Sabayon sauce was very ordinary.
Lovely place and people. Enjoyed the jazz musicians. The bread and wine were delicious. My son loved his chicken dish and appetizer. The food was a bit on the cool side and the vegetables overcooked though, and for the price, there was way too much rice compared to vegetables and chicken. The small table felt like it had too much on it and the noise level, once the place got full and the musicians started playing, made conversation difficult. The wait staff were friendly however could have been more attentive. In order to make room for the main dish, they removed the appetizer so they could box it up--it was never returned. I've been to Cafe Soriah before and based on my previous experience and reluctance to complain, I did tip @ 15%.
A great special occasion dinner place. In addition to the excellent food - Steak Diane and cod special— we enjoyed watching the chef cook.
The Soriah is the place we go to celebrate important occasions! It always meets our expectations!

Great variety of food and so many fresh choice. Everything is prepared perfectly! This is my favorite restaurant in Eugene / Springfield area. Always great service, fresh bread and a great wine selection to pair with your meal selection. Owner is hands on and prepare a number of dishes at his “out of kitchen” mobile cart. Strongly recommend you make reservation.
Enjoyed Soriah again. On every visit to Eugene a dinner at Cafe Soriah is a must. Food and wine are great and staff is so friendly.
My husband really enjoyed the food it was beautiful and had a really good atmosphere. For me the vegan options fell short but I would recommend to conventional eaters! The server was prompt and comped my dessert do to me not liking my meal. That was sweet however they only had one vegan option and it happened to be one of the only things I don't care for. This review is based on my personal taste for the menu this particular evening. If they had more options for vegans I would try again. I am happy they had vegan options at all.
Great food ask for more sauce tho. My wife had the Cioppino and said it was wonderful; usually she has the ravioli special and loves it...Frank
The food and the service was surperior. It was best restraint experience we have had in Eugene in 50 years.
The service is fantastic and the food is even better. While we dined we had an lovely conversation in a room full of people and it felt like we were alone. We loved the food being cooked near the tables, it added entertainment to the already incredible experience. If you haven’t tried the cherries jubilee for desert yet, you are missing out. It’s as fun to watch being prepared as it is to eat. Delicious!
Delicious and wonderful food. Cocktails were a little hit/miss, either really way too strong or perfect. Even with same two drinks. But food was beyond perfect and the service was amazing.
I should have known better. It was Valentine’s Day. The menu was limited so the entree I had wanted was not listed. The Salmon was over cooked, so were the vegetables. We felt like cattle herded through. The table was very close to two others so we felt like our conversation was not private. The cocktail was good and waiter was nice.
Unfortunately, we find little to recommend about Cafe Soriah: the house salad was quite tasteless, the chicken Jerusalem lukewarm and very salty (with no sign of the creamy feta described on the menu), and the prawns Jericho had an aftertaste, almost like MSG had been added; it was really disappointing.
The only positive was our server, Naseem, who was very friendly and helpful
We are an MSG-free restaurant and have been since we began 28 years ago. I wish I could help with the Prawns Jericho comment. As far as the chicken, I apologize, it shouldn't ever be just lukewarm or salty. I am glad that Naseem was a helpful server. Please let me know when you are in next so that I can make that up to you. We love it here. The food is always so good that it's not easy to choose from the menu.
Have always had great food and service at Soriano. Would highly recommend for any special occasion. Reservations are recommended for weekends. enjoy!!

I felt crowded and was seated where I had to adjust for everyone getting into the dining area.
The steak Diane is met in your mouth perfection. The waitstaff is attentive, thoughtful and incredibly knowledgeable about specials and favorites. It is always a treat to dine at Cafe Soriah.

Amazing dining experience! The flavors of everything are carefully thought out and executed perfectly. I love the spacing of the courses as well. It makes for an enjoyable experience.
The food is some of the best in Eugene if not the best! Steak Diane was prepared right at our table. Service was excellent!
This is a classic restaurant. The owner, who sometimes cooks greeted us at our table. The food was innovative, healthy and very yummy.
