Café Sbisa, established in 1899 and the third oldest fine-dining establishment in the French Quarter, is proud to re-open under the direction of a new team to once again offer the highest quality French-Creole cuisine in a welcoming, historical setting that both locals and tourists will appreciate. Spearheading the new Café Sbisa are Mr. Craig Napoli, who successfully ran the notable restaurant from 1992 - 2005 when Hurricane Katrina devastated the city, and Chef Alfred Singleton, who met Craig when he started working for him at the former Café Sbisa as a prep cook.

Now, the unique venue will once again open its doors to serve classic local fare like Turtle Soup, Louisiana Blue Crab Cakes and BBQ Shrimp using the freshest, locally-sourced seafood and produce. While many restaurants tout “fresh and local”, Sbisa means it, as the Napoli family owns their own seafood dock and distribution business in Hopedale, Louisiana.

Unbelievable food and ambiance. The turtle soup will blow your wig back, eggs sbisa made my afternoon. Needed a lengthy nap after the delicious meal I had here. Unlike anything I’ve ever eaten before

I've come to Sbisa every time I come to NOLA. When I lived there I didn't go enough! Our waiter's name was Owen and he was outstanding. Very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly, but not obtrusive. The cocktails were generous pours. The wine list is light but adequate. The oysters were excellent but the veal was the star of the show. Their only drawback is the location of the lavatories (upstairs). A minor inconvenience for the healthy but could be an issue for some who have difficulty walking. Other than that, it's a fantastic experience. I will be back!

We had the most AMAZING time at Cafe Sbisa. From the moment we walked in the service was impeccable, ambiance was to die for, and the live music was so romantic. All of the employees were very attentive and friendly. The food…was SPECTACULAR! Cooked to perfection and plated perfectly. We followed dinner with white chocolate bread pudding for dessert and that really completed our evening. The bread pudding was the best I’ve ever had. So glad we chose this place and we will definitely be going there again

My husband and I took our grandson to Sunday brunch today at 11. He is a medical school student in New Orleans. The food was absolutely incredible as were the bloody Marys!!! I had their crab cake egg dish - a version of "Benedict", and my husband had the crawfish etoufee omelet. Our grandson had their pasta jambalaya which I thought was good but more a lunch item than brunch! Oh, we also had their oyster appetizer which was to die for!!! Can't wait to go back! And they had a 3 piece band playing for Sunday brunch!

Highly recommend Sunday Jazz Brunch. MUST order Bananas Foster Pain Perdu (too exceptional to call it French Toast) - one of the best dishes ever! Also wonderful was the Oysters Sbisa. Nice live music, and we were well taken care of by Kevin.

Service was terrible, waitress was indifferent to the quality of our experience. She took our drink order, then returned for our dinner order then disappeared. Our food came out before our drinks got to the table for some perspective on timing and how long we were waiting. Ordered a 2016 Bordeaux from the wine list and waitress showed up with a 2019 (huge pet peeve of mine) and when I asked if they had the '16 you could just see the irritation in her face that she had to check. They didnt have the '16 and so I accepted the '19 at the '16 price just to end the pain and move on because any hope of a reasonable evening would have been lost if we had to go through that exercise again with another wine on the list - never mind the wait. Food was better than good but nothing to write home about. Looks like theyve emphasized turning tables over and service is really low on the priority list. Also all tables are mandatory included 20% gratuity so you cant even express your dissatisfaction through the tip and all the incentive for good service is gone. To boot, this was all for a 40th birthday so very disappointing to fall so far short with a restaurant with so much potential that others have really enjoyed.

This was our last dinner for a 3 night stay and will plan to return the next time we come to NOLA. We sat next to a regular diner who told us he eats there every Thursday through Sunday so we took his advice for our order. We started w/drinks and the Oysters Sbisa, delicious and not at all what we expected, very tender & flavorful. My husband had the Courtboullion & i had the Trout Eugene, the best. Excellent service you’d expect to receive at a private club but in a relaxed atmosphere. We wish we could fly back tonight for another exceptional dinner

Had a wonderful dinner with friends. Wedge salad and gumbo were very good. Trout Eugene was light and cooked to perfection. Bread pudding was delicious but unfortunately they ran out of Chocolate Sin Cake before we ordered desert. Ask your waiter for the chocolate cake when you first get there. It is the best.

This was my husband's and my first time at this restaurant and we were very pleased. We both had the pasta jambalaya and really enjoyed it. The portions were huge so we didn't have an appetizer or dessert. Kevin was our server and he was fantastic. He was friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. There were two tables with 8 or more people at each and we never felt we were being ignored. We sat upstairs and I would recommend this on the nights they have entertainment. The restaurant isn't large and the music can be loud. Sitting upstairs allows you to hear the music and still have a table conversation. We will definitely return to Cafe Sbisa on our next trip to NOLA.

Amazing experience!!! We had a 7:45pm rez, but arrived early. We expected to have to wait & get a drink at the bar, but the hostess said we could be seated immediately if we'd like. Waiter had cocktail & wine menus waiting. I had an Old Fashioned & my wife had a Moscato. Crab cakes for app.. too good for words to describe. We then had Shrimp & Grits and Jambalaya Pasta. Portions are large, and 2 people could easily split one & be satisfied! Highly recommend to anyone & we'll definitely be back!!!

My second time dining here and it’s a second home run. Food/service was top notch! My only quibble would be that I did miss the jazz band that played during dinner on my first visit. A little jazz music to accompany your meal is always a pleasure! I definitely recommend!

The location is on the edge of the French Quarter and not as busy like in Bourbon Street. Nice quaint spot with very flavorful food. The value was also excellent with the serving.

We were seated so close to the band we could not get out of our chairs, nor could we talk to each other. We sat for 30 minutes without water or drinks. Food also extremely slow. Our server seemed irritated to be waiting on us and was mostly at the bar visiting with other staff. Perhaps they should have let us know they did not really want us to dine with them?

Very nice old elegant NOLA restaurant. Charming and staff very friendly. Food is amazing. I had turtle soup as an app and was to die for. Husband ordered shrimp and grits and have to say the best I have ever eaten anywhere in the quarter. I ordered veal emily good but very rich. If your into rich food this would be the ticket it was delicious. Definitely would recommend and we will go back on another visit.
