Now, the unique venue will once again open its doors to serve classic local fare like Turtle Soup, Louisiana Blue Crab Cakes and BBQ Shrimp using the freshest, locally-sourced seafood and produce. While many restaurants tout “fresh and local”, Sbisa means it, as the Napoli family owns their own seafood dock and distribution business in Hopedale, Louisiana.
Fresh filet of trout topped with Gulf shrimp, crawfish tails, and crab fingers in a champagne cream sauce
Louisiana Blue Crab Cakes
Lightly dusted in Panko bread crumbs, pan-seared and served with citrus aioli
Veal and Crab
Paneed milk-fed veal, Louisiana jumbo lump crab meat, and lemon caper butter
Dinner was awesome however I did feel rushed. I was only offered a cocktail menu, a glass of water and no other drink selections. I had to ask about non alcoholic beverages. I was never asked about what desserts were offered and I was there to celebrate someone's birthday. I ask if there was such menu and no one ever returned with an answer so I paid the bill and left.
Loved everything about the experience of the restaurant
Delicious food, service, live music, attentive staff, and even more delicious food! Every patron there was loving it! You could see it and feel it!
Loved Brunch, wait a minute! Bathroom is on the second floor! Wife had a boot on, surgery. No problem! What about my Mom, or mother-in-law 86/87. Or anyone with a disability, heaven forbide a wheelchair. 2021 is the Year, guess change is hard for NOLA
Food and service were excellent. The portions were nice sized as well. Highly recommend the Sunday brunch!
The service was excellent and the food was well presented and very delicious. The liquor prices were reasonable, even for the wine. Toppings were generously placed over particular entrees and were tastefully matched with the entree. We will definitely return.
We went for our anniversary and the food was outstanding! Our waiter was Kevin and he was great! A beautiful black owned establishment! Keep it up kings and Queens!
Speed eating, we were rushed through dinner. No specials were provided by the waiter. Also charged for a glass of wine that was sent back. The waiter did correct the bill when we alerted him to the charge.
Overall, food was good. Probably would not recommend it to others.
The food was fantastic and the service was even better.
35 yr anniversary
Awesome brunch experience. The live music was bomb. Food was great. Service was superb!
Great service. The manager Scott is amazing!!! Our servers Kevin and Angelique were top tier.
Sunday morning jazz brunch was awesome, although we got there for reservation at opening and had to stall to hear the jazz trio which was setting up, it just meant we got to try more food and have one more delicious cocktail. I had Angel of Passion and another champagne drink with rhubarb bitters and blackberry liqueur that was delish, husband drank bourbon. Crab cake was one of the best ever if not the best, loved the gumbo, and he had Pasta Jambalaya (very good but spicy for a guy that loves spice) and I had the amazing Crawfish Etoufee Omelet (holy moly was that good - best omelet ever and the etoufee was thinner and more tomato based that I've had but it was amazing - next time I'd ask for no rice in the middle though). Waiter was a sweet, attentive, nice man - just a good guy who did his job well. Place is small and being so close to Jackson Square has seen some weather, but I loved the NOLA charm of it and will definitely be back!
We've dined several times for brunch but it was our first time dining for dinner and it was amazing. Everytime I visit Café Sbisa I must have the crab cakes and oyster sbisa, two of my most favorite appetizers. I ordered the Veal Emily and it was delicious. The only negative for ME was the sauce, although delicious I would have preferred a little less sauce because it took over the dish. I definitely will order again but I will request less sauce. My daughter had the gumbo and shrimp and grits which she said was good as well. Café Sbisa has become a favorite for me. I love the vibe, and although there was no live band Saturday night the soft music being played was a great touch. Thanks to the staff for another great outing. We will be back.
Pasta Seafood gumbo was a great southern NOLA dish. Be prepared for some spice. All dishes had a little extra umph in hotness that we weren’t prepared for. BBQ shrimp tasty - wasn’t prepared for heads on shrimp but that was our bad. Enjoyed the fantastic dining setting. Service was excellent.
We had an awesome time. Great food. Best soft shell crab!! Very friendly staff. The chef came out and spoke to tables. Fine dining in a casual atmosphere. Will definitely return.
Excellent service with attention to what we needed. Appetizers came out just right. Main meal not out until ready. Overall food was good; but wife’s shrimp and grits came out wit lumpy grits (not “rich and creamy”). However, without asking waitress did not charge for this dish. Also recognized my several of the staff to have a “Happy Anniversary” with desert on the house.
The atmosphere, service, and food are exceptional. The wait staff are efficient and friendly. The Citrus and Herb Roasted Chicken is the best chicken dish I have ever eaten. Cafe Sbisa is my new favorite restaurant in New Orleans.
Possibly the best restaurant in New Orleans. Wonderful service in a cozy room with a prohibition era feel. The Pasta Jambalaya was excellent but after sharing a taste, I wish I had gotten the Veal Emily. it was absolutely amazing. It is a breaded veal cutlet pounded thin and covered in a tasty sauce. Fried oyster clam w/creamed spinach appetizer was delicious. Service was impeccable. A must for anyone visiting Nola!
Prices in line with quality of meal. Above average service. Average cocktail and wine lists. Bbq shrimp is not what I would consider an entrée. Needs a side. The trout was excellent.
We were excited to see that Cafe Sbisa had reopened and they did not disappoint! Our server, Owen, was great! Friendly, attentive, made us laugh…it’s great to see everyone so outgoing again! We will most definitely be back soon!
Excellent service. Food a bit heavy but very well prepared. We loved the jazz band. Great music and not too loud
Went for the jazz brunch with a live band which was excellent all around! Great food, great bottomless mimosas and great ambiance. My only critique would be that my waiter seemed to be ready for me and the other table to go and because they are located in the French Quarter parking and walking is a must.
Soft shell crab appetizer-9/10
Shrimp and grits 8/10
Biscuit 6/10 needed more salt or a more intense flavor profile. Biscuit was however soft and fresh
Went here during memorial day weekend to celebrate my 2nd wedding anniversary! The service was amazing. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the hostess. We arrived during the peak dinner time and only had to wait 5 minutes as all staff changed and rearranged tables. My husband and I tried the blue crab cakes, gumbo, shrimp and grits, and petite beef filet. I wanted the rack of lamb but was told they had been sold out for the last 2 weeks due to low meat inventory. Our waiter was efficient and entertaining. He walked us through the menu as first timers to the restaurant and city. The vibe was amazing with jazz music playing in the background.
I will definitely be back.
We had a good meal... felt a little touristy. But overall, if you want nice food in the French Quarter in a restaurant with history, it’s a good place.
Great menu, great ambience, wonderful front-of-the-house staff. Cafe Sbisa has everything it takes to continue a classic New Orleans tradition. The restaurant's new incarnation has really taken off and this puts stress on the servers and the kitchen. I will say that some of our food was not executed as well as it should have been (served a bit on the cold side) but the value is great and we will return.
Great food and service! I'd highly suggest making reservations!
Great food. Great service. Simply amazing. Thanks for a great evening. 5 Star
Brunch was excellent. The serving team was attentive and working very hard. We sat on the balcony and it was nice to be able to hear the music from next door. Will definitely be back
When the server is talking about the ‘Specials’ of the evening, he/she needs to mention the price. When we got the bill, it surprised me how expensive it was..
My group of friends eat brunch once a month. We chose Cafe Sbisa for May and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the staff was pleasant, professional, and helpful.
The jazz brunch is just brunch, but the food was AMAZING! The Shrimp and Grits were recommended by the hostess and we now recommend it to everyone. It is shareable size! Also, the crab cakes Benedict had a great flavor and great sauce. Oh yeah, don’t forget the biscuits. No butter needed. It was a wonderful meal!
Great service. Food was extra good. We will return.
Great food, great service, and the views from the balcony were spectacular
Excellent! Very impressed by the quality service and food. Get the gumbo, oysters, trout Eugene, and courtboullion
Mother's Day Brunch was awesome. From the hostess, to the wait staff, all the way to the bartender, everyone was super friendly and attentive. The food came out fast and hot and was delicious.
Love this place the food , service, and ambiance are impeccable! My mother enjoyed her Mother’s Day.
I saw a review on YouTube by the Black Foodies and decided I wanted to go.
Ambiance was nice although I heard there was a live band and I didn’t see one, maybe they were up stairs.
Our table was placed next to the kitchen opening door. People plus waiters were coming in and out but the door was flying open close to where my husband was sitting near the door.
The dishwasher guys or whomever kept walking to the door and looking. Maybe it was just a bad place to sit. My waitress was very nice but she seemed tired no energy. I saw lamb in the reviews and I was ready for it BUT no lamb on the menu. The menu was not very kids friendly. The only thing to choose was a hamburger and fries. The prices were fine, I expected to spend $4-500.00. I dressed for an experience that I heard the owner in a YouTube review speak of and I did not get it. Maybe my expectations where to high which is why I left feeling let down.
I celebrated my 42nd birthday here and loved everything about this restaurant!! I will be returning soon!
